CAS Colours & Sketches #176

This month at CAS Colours & Sketches our hostess is Bev from Uniko and she's chosen a very pretty trio of colours to kick start June's challenges.

My immediate thought was to grab some flower stamps and create a really pretty summery card, but then I thought why not try something different and this is what I came up with:

I'm thinking a cool teenager might just love this. I used the lighter two colours to stencil a background and then over stamped the image in rose red.

I've been debating with myself about whether the sentiment should have been rose red too, but whenever I use colours for sentiments I always wish I'd used black - can't win really!

Supplies:
Stamps: Visible Image, teenage kicks
Inks: SU, rose red, blushing bride, so saffron
Stencil: TCW, mini mod spirals

So your turn now - how will you use the colours? There's more inspiration for you from the CAS Colours & Sketches DT and we have a fabulous Guest Designer Fiona joining us for June.

Thanks for looking. And keep crafting!

  6. This is totally rad (though I'm pretty certain today's teenagers do NOT say that; oh well, my age is showing :). This is such a fun card - love the stenciled background! I too have problems with colored sentiments - I've come to love brown and dark grey as alternates to black.

  7. I love your modern non-floral take on these colors! Your bold use of the rose red really makes your card stand out among the DT thumbnails! Awesome job, Jane!

  8. Really fun and rebellious card - I think that the black sentiment is great, it makes it stand out more than the rose pink would have.
