Uniko - Introducing Background Blocks: Scattered Polka Dots & Simply Said Blocks

Well here I am today with the first introductions for the September release from Uniko

We're still using the sneak peek graphics, but if you hop around the DT blogs you should get a fair idea of what the stamp sets contain so you can get your shopping list ready for the full reveal on Saturday. But then why would you need a shopping list? You're going to want to add them all to your basket!

So I'm kicking off with a monochromatic card - I was aiming for sophisticated. What do you think?

There seems to be a lot of polka dot paper products around at the moment, so this stamp is bang on trend.

I stamped the Scattered Polka Dots at the top and bottom of the card - much frustration trying to get them lined up! The Simply Said Blocks went in the middle and I picked out a few of the polka dots with iridescent gems.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Background Blocks Scattered Polka Dots, Simply Said Blocks
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black
Embellishments: Papermania, irisdescent stones

My next card is all about feeling the love - which I'm sure you are for this new release!

I stamped the polka dots and then die cut a stitched rectangle. Then I repeatedly stamped the love block - more issues with lining up - and die cut a heart.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko,  Background Blocks Scattered Polka Dots, Simply Said Blocks
Inks: SU, real red, sahara sand
Dies: MFT Dienamics, double stitched rectangles; Xcut, hearts

My final card using these two stamps sets gets a bit more colourful. I used a kaleidacolor ink pad for the polka dots and then just one strip from the same ink pad for the block sentiment.

I cut a square from a leftover piece of card and punched a butterfly in the middle. This was raised on pads and I love how the polka dots peep through the aperture.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Background Blocks Scattered Polka Dots, Simply Said Blocks
Ink: Kaleidacolor, Riviera
Punch: SU, butteerfly

Ok time now to check out what the rest of the Uniko DT have created.  Find all the links - HERE. Make yourself a cup of something and enjoy!

Thanks for looking at my blog today, your visit has been most welcome. Hope to see you tomorrow for the next Uniko introduction.

But in the meantime keep crafting!

  9. You are rocking Jane ... so many fabulous ideas. Loving the monochromatic look of the first one then your 'loved up' heart is so striking and a brilliant card design. I can't pick a favourite but I'm always drawn to bright colours and swooning over how you've used the negative space from the butterfly. Ingenious. I tend to throw that bit away but I'm gonna keep hold of those bits from now on! x

  10. You've certainly made evident the possibilities of these charming dots as backgrounds for butterflies and hearts, or as 'feature elements' in the sophisticated black-and-white card. Ideas swirling...

  11. Jane - these are fab! Love the monochromatic look of the first card, but it's the way you've used the word Love to fill the die cut heart that I think is brilliant (and I may borrow!). Great introduction! xx
