Saturday Slot

Today I'm sharing a card I created for the challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches.

It's their 7th birthday - how fabulous is that? Huge congratulations got to the team for keeping a weekly challenge running for such a long time, no mean feat I can tell you!

Some fantastic Christmassy colours for this challenge:

Having learnt my lesson about the thickness of cards for mailing I went with a thin matted card and used the beautiful Rustic Wreath stamp from Uniko. I had to substitute a couple of the colours, crushed curry for the gold and tranquil tide for shaded spruce.

Supplies:
Inks: SU, cherry cobbler, crushed curry, tranquil tide

Huge thanks for looking today, I really appreciate you taking the time.

And keep crafting!

Here's my card with apologies for the poor lighting:

I started by stamping the large butterfly from Funky Fossil's Butterfly Wishes and then masking it off. I also masked off a diamond shape and then applied two colours of distress oxide inks.

I finished off the card by stamping a greeting from Funky Fossil's The Quick Brown Fox and matting it onto a white card base.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Butterfly Wishes, The Quick Brown Fox
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black; Ranger distress ink, picked raspberry, wilted violet

Huge thanks for dropping by my blog today, it's been great to see you here.

Thursday Thoughts

A Christmas card to share today using the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches.

Here's my card:

I frotated the sketch because it suited the image better and as there were several layers on the sketch I kept them all white to keep the card CAS. I used the gnome is from Polkadoodles 25 December, so cute and fab to colour.  I kept the colours really simple to stop the card from looking too busy and stay CAS.

I added a simple block sentiment from Uniko and I was done.

Supplies:
Stamps: Polkadoodles, 25 December; Uniko, Simply Said Blocks, Christmas
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne
Pens: Copic, W1, W3, C00, C1, C3, C5, Y18, R20, R21, R29, R39, R59, YG63, YG67

Friday Focus

Today I'm sharing a card I created using the sketch at CAS Colours & Sketches.

Mmm that had me thinking for a while, especially as a few of their DT had used a die to achieve that extended semi circle shape - a die I don't have. So it was outside the box thinking that won the day for me and here's what I came up with:

I rotated the sketch a quarter turn to the right and masked off a rectangular strip and inked it up in a couple of distress ink colours. I then stamped the large Funky Fossil butterfly on top - I thought the shape sort of resembled the sketch shape.

I finished off with a die cut spiro circle sentiment popped up onto pads.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky fossil Designs, Butterfly Wishes
inks: Ranger distress, picked rasped, cracked pistachio; Versafine Clair, nocturne
Die: Xcut, spiro circle

Thanks for looking today, I'm really delighted to have had your company.

And keep crafting!

Stamps: Funky Fossil Designs, Butterfly Wishes
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne; SU, powder pink, pool party, so saffron
Stencil: Funky Fossil Designs, crackle background

CC&S September Guest Designer 4

Today I'm sharing my final card as Guest designer at CAS Colours & Sketches. This week it's a sketch.

I've kept super CAS and followed the sketch carefully:

I used this wonderful stamp set from CAS-ual Fridays which has three splodgy stars just perfect for the three different sized diamonds from the sketch.

A favourite trick of mine with stamps like this is to use a Kaleidacolor ink pad to add a blend of colours. I'm thinking this card will be great for a masculine birthday - got a few of them coming up before Christmas!

Supplies:
Stamps: CAS-ual Fridays, Celebrate
Ink: Kaleidacolor, Caribbean Sea

Well I hope you have enjoyed my September stint as GD as CC&S as much as I have. Thanks so much to Patricia and her team for inviting me to play along.

Thanks to you for dropping by my blog today. I love to have your company!

And keep crafting!

CC&S September Guest Designer 3

Today I'm guesting at CAS Colours & Sketches again and this is my third slot of the month with them. It's a colour challenge this week and a really fabulous trio too!

So I got to thinking that these colours would be perfect for an Autumn themed card and since Autumn and its beautiful colours is my most favourite time of the year I followed my heart.

I used the gorgeous skeleton leaf stamps from Precious Remembrance Shop and the orange and purple shades from the colour swatch. I then matted it all onto some green card stock to bring in the final colour.

Supplies:
Stamps: Precious Remembrance Shop, Fall Colors
Inks: SU, pumpkin pie, fresh fig

I'm curious to know how you will use these colours. The CC&S DT have some amazing examples to get you all fired up and inspired so do go take a look and then get crafting.

Thanks for your time today. I feel so privileged that you spent some of it visiting my blog.

And keep crafting!
