The Memory Nest - Make It Monday #88

Hello everyone! I'm really excited to be here today to share my DT page for the new Make It Monday Challenge at The Memory Nest.

http://thememorynest.blogspot.com/2017/04/make-it-monday-no-88.html

And the reason for my excitement is because it's all about my first real adventure into crafting with my youngest grandson.

I'm so loving the look of concentration on his face and the story behind this photo is so funny - something to do with glitter and granny forgetting you limit supplies when crafting with toddlers. Check out those feet!

A couple of pieces cut from a full 12x12 paper became my two title elements and I added stamping on top and around them.

I chose blue washi and stamped blue arrows and stars to pick up on the colours from his t-shirt and I changed the stars from the sketch into die cut hearts using the same paper collection as the title cards.

One square from the sketch became my journalling spot and I added three trios of enamel shapes on the diagonal.

Supplies:
Ppaers: Bazzill Basics, cardstock; AC Amy Tangerine, Oh Happy Life
Die: Xcut, Homespun Hearts
Stamps: Stamplorations, Art Marks; SU, Touches of Texture
Inks: SU, peekaboo peach, rose red; Memento, danube blue
Embellishments: SU enamel shapes, peekaboo peach; washi from my stash

Ok so you know the drill - pop on over to The Memory Nest, check out the rest of the DT creations, then go get crafty yourself.

Huge thanks for visiting my blog today, I always appreciate sharing your precious time.  And keep crafting!

The Memory Nest - Make It Monday #87

A super new sketch to play with and a brand new challenge starts today over at The Memory Nest.

http://thememorynest.blogspot.com/2017/04/make-it-monday-no-87.html

It's great to have a sketch with the opportunity to add more than one photo and I used up a bunch that I took on one of the first opportunities to spend a day in the garden without coats this year.

I added three little clusters of ephemera, one for each photo and filled the centre space with some stickers. If you're wondering what he's pointing at he'd spotted a tiny little beetle crawling through the sand.

The project life card spot from the sketch also became my title for the page and really influenced my colour choices as it was the first thing that I got out.

And who doesn't love bubbles! Seems to have an everlasting fun element for kids and grown ups too!

Supplies:
Papers: AC Amy Tangerine, Oh Happy Life
Embellishments: Simple Stories, So Fancy words; AC Dear Lizzy, washi tape paper; AC Shimelle, die cut cardstock shapes; AC Remarks, Garden of Goodness; Fancy Pants, puffy stickers; SU enamel shapes, flirty flamingo

Want to see what the rest of The Memory Nest DT have created with this sketch? Sure you do! Check it out here.

It's be so fun having you drop by my blog today, thanks so much.  And keep crafting!

The Memory Nest - Make It Monday #86

Another amazing sketch challenge begins today at The Memory Nest and this one has tons of possibilities.

http://thememorynest.blogspot.com/2017/03/make-it-monday-no-86.html

This photo of my grandson really caught my eye and I knew it would be scrapped and what better way than with a sketch featuring stars. After all he is my little star!

As you can see I rotated the sketch around so that the stripes were at the bottom and i used a whole load of Stampin' Up papers in these cool greens amd orangey reds. It's always really easy to mix and match papers when they're from the same collections or colour pallettes, saves waiting for daylight to see the real tones.

I added quite a bit of blue stamping to the layout, both words and splats, to bring in the colour of his tee shirt in the photo. I also found a bottle top lurking in my stash to use in place of the flair button from the sketch.

A little bit of journalling and a ready made thickers alpha title and I called it done.

Supplies:
Papers: SU, Birthday Bouquet & Blooms & Bliss
Stamps: Uniko, Explosion Additions
Ink: Ranger distress, blueprint sketch
Alphas: AC, foam phrase stickers
Stickers: October Afternoon, Sidewalks

You're going to have so much fun using this sketch either for a scrapbook page or a card and I'm really looking forward to visiting your blogs and leaving some love. Don't forget there is a host of inspiration waiting for you from The Memory Nest's awesome DT - here - go check it out!

Huge thanks for your time today, I'm so pleased you dropped by my blog.  And keep crafting!

The Memory Nest - Make It Monday #85

Here we go today with a new sketch challenge at The Memory Nest.

http://thememorynest.blogspot.com/2017/03/make-it-monday-no-85.html

We had a couple of warm sunny days which meant the garden was available for play and out we went. And we noticed the bird feeders were empty - all that nest building that's going on making the birds extra hungry I guess. Loving the concentration on his face!

Once I'd placed the background papers from the sketch I then added in another layer and a couple of circular doilies - well actually it's just one doily cut in half. They arrived as part of happy mail from my internet buddy Lizzy Hill and she's very keen on making the most of your stash, so I'm hoping she'll be impressed by my thriftiness.

I added some stamped splatters and birds in a diagonal from top left to bottom right - draws the eye I'm told.

And I lucked out with finding the scalloped paper sticker strip lurking at the bottom of one of my boxes of paper. In fact all the papers I used were left over scraps - see I can stash bust too Lizzy!

Supplies:
Papers: Echo Park, Little Boy; TPC Studio, Transporatation Strip
Alphas: Simple Stories, Bloom & Grow
Stickers: Echo Park, Little Boy; Simple Stories, Bloom & Grow
Stamps: Lawn Fawn, Home Sweet Home; SU Touches of Texture
Ink: SU, night of navy
Embellishments: Doodelbug Sprinkles, blue jean asst.

Do go and check out the rest of the DT creations at The Memory Nest - here - and then get busy with your interpretation of the sketch.

Thanks for looking.  And keep crafting!

The Memory Nest - Make It Monday #83

Here I am again with my scrapbooking hat on and I've a really fun page to share with you today on my blog and also over at The Memory Nest.

http://thememorynest.blogspot.com/2017/03/make-it-monday-no-83.html

He just needed to get as wet as possible by jumping in the puddles and I just needed to take photographs! I knew they would make it onto a scrapbook page. And it's one of my all time favourites.

I chose some blue papers becuase it seemed appropriate for a page about water - although to be honest the puddle was more of a dirty brown!

Then I found the 'check this out' sticker and that influenced my choice of a complementary colour.

Some leftover stickers from the Disney themed Say Cheese collection fitted so perfectly with the joy and fun of this page. I finished the page off with some splatter stamping to help the flow from top to bottom.

Supplies:
Papers: AC, Oh Happy Life
Alpha: Lawn Fawn, Louie's ABCs
Stamps: SU, Touches of Texture, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Memento, pear tart; SU, night of navy
Punch: Martha Stewart, heart
Stickers AC, Remarks; Simple Stories, Say Cheese II
Embellishments: Doodlebug Sprinkles, blue jean asst.

If you pop over to The Memory Nest blog - here - you'll find lots more incredible ideas using this week's sketch. Hope you're inspired to join in and make a page or card of your own.

Thanks for your time today, I really appreciate your visit to my blog.  And keep crafting!

The Memory Nest - Make It Monday #82

I'm in scrapbooking mode today with my DT page for the new Make It Monday Challenge over at The Memory Nest.

http://thememorynest.blogspot.com/2017/02/make-it-monday-no-82.html

For my page I rotated the sketch and had the three circles at the bottom. I used stencils and inks to create them.

I then added the photo and lots of embellishment stickers, splodge stamps and ink splatters to get a diagonal flow.

The journalling was added under the circles and another set of embellishments under that.

Supplies:
Paper: AC, kraft cardstock
Stencil: TCW, Mini tiny Circles
Inks: SU, pacific point, smoky slate
Embellishments: Shimelle, cardstock shapes; MME, Now & Then enamel dots; Kaisercraft stickers

Thsi is such a fabulous sketch and allows for great creative licence so I hope you'll be playing along. The rest of The Memory Nest's DT have also made projects to inspire you, go check them out here.

Super excited to have you drop by today, thanks a billion.  And keep crafting!

The Memory Nest - Make It Monday #81

Here we go today with the first Memory Nest sketch for February.

http://thememorynest.blogspot.com/2017/02/make-it-monday-no-81.html

Are you like me with Christmas photos still to be scrapped? I spend a lot of time during December creating my December Daily album and then after Christmas go back through the photos to pick out some favourites to give them the full 12x12 treatment.  And it's not that often I get a photo of all three grandsons together, so this was one that definitely needed revisting.

I was also able to include a card and some elements sent by my Australian Pocket Letter Pal Helen and these bits totally influenced my choice of colours and papers.

I've added  a trio of sparkly enamel dots to highlight the gorgeous tag she sent me.

And another trio round the die cut.

Supplies:
Ppaers: Jenni Boelin, Red Black Extension IV; Chatterbox, Scrapbook Walls; scraps from my stash
PL tag & card: MME, Comfort & Joy
Stickers: Simple Stories, 25 Days of Christmas
Embellishments: Simple Stories, Mistletoe Kisses enamel dots

So now it's your turn to get busy with the sketch. Remember you can use it for a card if that's your preferred genre. Check out the rest of tMN team's creations here.

Thanks for looking today, come back again soon.  And keep crafting!

The Memory Nest - Make It Monday Challenge #80

I'm wearing my scrapbooking hat today and have my DT page for The Memory Nest's new Make It Monday Challenge to share with you. Here's the sketch:

And here's my page. This was so simple and quick to put together using paper and cards from Simple Stories Legacy and Sweater Weather collections. I chose a bright SU patterned paper for the background to lift the colours of the rest of the supplies I used which could have looked a bit sombre otherwise. I added an arrow, a heart and a trio of enamel dots to the first horizontal section.

This will be the opening page in my 2017 album and the message on the journalling card pretty much sums up exactly why I want to scrapbook. How many times have I said if only I'd written it down, taken a photo, listened more carefully ....... so now I do!

All I've done is add a couple of arrows and some enamel dots and a word sticker to the middle section. Oh and that typewriter card is the piece trimmed off from the square card above it - it started out as a standard 6x4 card.

The bottom layer has some textured number stickers, more enamel dots and another arrow.

Supplies:
Papers: Simple Storis, Legacy; , patterned paper
Embellishments: Simple Stories Sweater Weather; MME, Now & Then enamel dots
Numbers: AC thickers, patchwork
Dies: Xcut, arrows

There's a lot of elements to fill on this sketch ad I look forward to seeing how you create with it. Be sure to pop over to The Memory Nest to check out the rest of the DT pages, loads there to inspire you!

Thanks for your time today, I greatly appreciate your visit.  And keep crafting!

The Memory Nest - Make It Monday #78

The last 2016 sketch challenge at The Memory Nest begins today and it's a chance to use more than one photo on a page.

http://thememorynest.blogspot.com/2016/11/make-it-monday-no-78.html

I always include a a page about Autumn colours in my yearly album - I think, no I know, Autumn is my favourite season.

I started my page by cutting the triangular element from the sketch and stamping leaves all over it in Autumn colours and attached it to the background solid paper. Then I matted my photos and adhered them on top.

I added some stickers that I've had in my stash for ever and finally remembered to use and popped the title along the slant of the stamped panel. The finishing touch was to splatter inks in a diagonal from top left to bottom right - maybe gives a sense of the leaves moving.

Supplies:
stamps: Uniko, Nature's Treasures II
Inks: Kaleidacolor, creole spice; Ranger distress, brushed corduroy; Mister Huey's Color Mists, dark calico, sunshine
Alphas: Dear Lizzy thickers; Simple Stories, So Rad
Stickers: AC, remarks accents & phrases book
Embellishments: Freckled Fawn, enamel dew drops

It seems strange to see these Autumn colours on my screen now that everything is all Christmassy, but that's the nature of scrapbooking, got to live it before you can scrap it!

Do go over to The Memory Nest to be inspired by the rest of the DT's interpretation of this sketch and then I hope to see your pages - or cards - in the gallery.

Thanks for your time today, I really appreciate your visit. And I'm sending Christmas sparkle!
