Tuesday Talk

Happy Little Stampers have started a new Christmas challenge this month and the focus word is TREE.

http://www.happylittlestampers.blogspot.com.au/2015/07/hls-july-christmas-challenge.html

And as my Visible Image flower stem was still on my block I decided to see if I could create a tree with it. So did it work? What do you think?

I cut myself a triangular mask from scrap paper and used it to keep the shape as I zig-zagged down from the top with my stamping.

I die cut the tree card into a stitched square and then lifted it by using funky foam behind it. I chose a really simple Uniko Christmas greeting to complement the CAS style of the tree.

Supplies:
Stamp: Visible Image, Flower Incognito; Uniko, Simply Said Christmas
Inks: SU, cucumber crush, soft suede
Die: Lawn Fawn, large stitched square stackables

Thanks for dropping by today, your time is much appreciated. And keep crafting!

The Memory Nest - Make It Monday 44

Such a fabby sketch at The Memory Nest for this week's Make It Monday challenge.

http://thememorynest.blogspot.com/2015/07/make-it-monday-no-44.html

And out came the equally fabby Simple Stories, I Am, paper collection and two of the most adorable photos of my little grandson.

I decided it was time to get the cot down from the loft. It was last used about four years ago when my middle grandson was tiny. I knew I'd need to buy a new mattress, but thought the frame would be fine. Well it was, apart from the fact that I'd not packed the screws or instructions away in the box and could not remember the safe place I'd stored them. Oops! A new one had to be bought.

The sentiments on this card are just so right!

What is it about sleeping babies that turns you all gooey inside?

Supplies:
Papers, stickers & clip: Simple Stories, I am
Wooden hearts: Scrap 365

That's your dose of 'Awww' sorted for today then!

Hope you'll pop over to The Memory Nest and see what the rest of the DT have created. Leslie has upped the chances of you winning a prize this month - go check it out!

Thanks so much for your visit today, much appreciated. And keep crafting!

Uniko - July Release Day & Blog Hop

At last the waiting is over and today's the Uniko July Release Day! YAY!

If you've been following the Uniko DT posts over the past few days you'll be as excited as me! Well from today the sets are available to purchase and if you join in the blog hop and comment along the way maybe you'll be the winner of all three sets - so easy to be in with a chance!
So here's my showcase of Uniko's brilliant new release:

My first card uses both Home Sweet Home and Garland Galore for my new home announcement card. It's a wee little notelet style card, but with plenty of room to add an address inside. And ever since I first saw this stamp set the idea of a partial cut out was stuck firmly in my mind.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Home Sweet Home, Garlands Galore
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Promarkers: cool grey 1, azure

My next card uses the oh so gorgeous Pure Florals: Cosmos. I know I've said it before but cosmos must be my most favourite ever of summer garden flowers.

And I couldn't resist getting inky and trying out a bokeh effect background to showcase the absolute beauty of this stamp. You can probably just about make out the added glistening glamour given by a generous coat of Wink of Stella,

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Pure Florals: Cosmos
Inks: Ranger distress, dusty concord, milled lavender, victorian velvet; SU, crushed curry, whisper white; Memento, tuxedo black
Stencil: ARTplorations, bubbles
Promarker: mustard
Wink of Stella, clear

Before you go off hopping round the Uniko DT blogs here's the images of the stamp sets available to purchase from the Uniko shop from today.

And now I'll keep you hanging on no longer, off you go!

Jane (that's me)

Don't forget to leave comments on your way round for the chance to win the whole release. Remember you've got to be in it to win it!
Thanks for your visit. And keep crafting!

Uniko - Introducing Pure Florals: Cosmos

Oh Wow! No doubt you've already been bowled over by the spectacular Uniko new stamp release introduction so far - but just you wait until you feast your eyes on the final set.

I'm so excited about this stamp set featuring my favourite summer flower - cosmos. And yes I was able to delight in indulging my passion for purple and pink. Do flowers come in other colours then?

Well I suppose they do need a little yellow too! So I started by smooshing my watercoloured background and then over stamping, with a little masking, and colouring the flowers with my trusty promarkers. I'm loving how little bits of the backgound colours are peeping through in places.

Now that is one extraordinarily beautiful stamp set. Bet it will be jumping straight into your basket tomorrow!

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Pure Florals: Cosmos
Inks: Ranger distess, mustard seed, picked raspberry
Promarkers: marsh green, pink carnation, fuchsia pink, rose pink, mustard
Die: Lawn Fawn, large stitched square stackables
Punch: Xcut corner rounder

Well that's the last of the Uniko new release introductions. Made your wishlist yet? Not too long to wait now - come back tomorrow for the complete reveal and release day bloghop and the chance to win all three sets!

Thanks for your time today. And keep crafting!

CAS Colours & Sketches #132

This week at CAS Colours & Sketches it's my first sketch for the month of July.

http://cascoloursandsketches.blogspot.com/2015/07/challenge-132-sketch.html

All those straight lines had me reaching for my washi tape and Uniko Background Builders Squared stamps.

And to balance all those linear elements a simple row of roundness created with some apple stamps from Clearly Besotted.

Supplies:
Stamps: Clearly Besotted, An Apple A Day & Say It In Style; Uniko, Background Builders Squared
Inks: SU, real red, daffodil delight; Memento, pear tart
Embellishments: Washi tape from my stash

I'm hoping you'll enjoy working with this sketch and will link up to the CC&S gallery. Check out all the other DT creations and then your head will be spinning with ideas!

Stamping theses apples reminded me of when I visited Gunby Hall, Lincolnshire for their Autumn Apple Festival. The gardens there are simply gorgeous and linked by lots of grassy or gravel paths. So it seems fitting to add my photo for Our Beautiful World's word this week - PATHWAY.

Thanks for looking today. And keep taking photographs as well as crafting!

Uniko - Introducing Home Sweet Home

Another day and another introduction to one of the new Uniko July release stamp sets. Today it's Home Sweet Home.

This stamp set was so much fun to use and would be so easy to personalise not just with colours but  by adding a name or house number to the card. I so needed this stamp two weeks ago when my middle son moved house!

I wanted my card to be really bright and happy so I chose a rainbow of colours to stamp a background before fussy cutting the house and adhering it on top with foam pads.

Don't you love the curtains? Reminds me so much of how I used to draw them as a child.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Hoe Sweet Home, Background Builders Squared
Inks: SU, real red, pumpkin pie, daffodil delight, wild wasabi, pacific point
Promarkers: tulip yellow, poppy, cool grey1

Well only one more introduce post left - and tomorrow's is a real humdinger - and then it'll be Saturday and time to let them jump into your shopping baskets. Are you as excited as I am? Be sure to check out the rest of the DT cards and maybe you'll win a random mystery prize if you leave a little love behind as you go - full details on the Uniko blog.

Thanks for looking today. Hope to see you again tomorrow.  And keep crafting!
