Uniko - Beautiful Blooms I & II Revisited

It's time to revisit a previously released set at Uniko this month. And actually it's two sets - Beautiful Blooms I & II. And as always there's plenty of DT inspiration and a blog hop to follow with the chance to win one of the featured sets.

I've made a couple of cards using Beautiful Blooms I - one of my all time favourites and go to stamps from Uniko. So here's the first:

I've been seeing a lot of cards using the new crealies patchwork dies and decided to see if I could manage to emulate them using the dies I already have in my stash.

I was quite pleased with the result and think the beautiful bloom looks really cool stamped just off the edge.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Beautiful Blooms 1 & sentiment from A Gift For You
Ink: SU, real red; Memento, tuxedo black
Die: Spellbinders, standard circles small; Lawn Fawn, large stitched circle stackables

My second card uses both the small and large bloom heads from the set and a classic colour combo.

And apart from the sprinkles it's a one layer card so can be posted easily. Ideal for those times when a quick note is needed.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Beautiful Blooms I & All Occasion Sentiments #1
Injks: SU. crushed curry, smoky slate; Memento, tuxedo black
Embellishments: Doodlebug sprinkles, bumble bee asst.

Of course I couldn't let Beautiful Blooms II sit all rejected on the shelf, so I made a third card just so that it wouldn't feel left out.

I used one of the new Stampin Up in colours - mint macaron - and a favourite pinky purple from Memento - lilac posies. I'm loving this colour clash so much!

And I'm thinking this may just be my favourite of the three cards. Which is yours? I'd love you to leave a comment and let me know.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Beautiful Blooms II & Simply Said Birthday
Inks: SU, mint macaron; Memento, lilac posies
Die: Dienamics, Celebrate
Embellishments: Doodlebug Sprinkles, love glitter asst.

Off you go now hopping along the blog to marvel at the fantastic creations by Beverley and the rest of the DT. Here's the order:

Jane (that's me)

Thanks for your time. And keep crafting!

The Memory Nest - Make It Monday 46

Already time for the second August sketch at The Memory Nest. And it's another humdinger!

http://thememorynest.blogspot.com/2015/08/make-it-monday-no-46.html
So much going on in this sketch, it makes for a swift and easy spot of scrapbooking. I had this fabby photo to use, but because of the direction of the main viual I needed to flip the sketch. I find it helps to print out the sketch and then hold the paper up to a window to trace the outline whenever I flip sketches.

I picked up on the t-shirt colours for both the background and the elements on the page and added in a little purply grey card to link in the black and white parts of the photo.

I've learnt how to achieve this focal colour photography effect - which I absolutely adore - from an online Jessica Sprague course  - Digi 4 Back For More.  It's such a fabulous course, I'm learning so much and highly recommend it.

I just had to fit my journalling in on the main part of the page as it's such a hoot and so precious. I more or less copied it straight from my son's text message. I'm so looking forward to visiting them and being introduced to the cows!

And a closer look at that grid of circles. Do the the wavy line ones make your eyes go funny?

Supplies:
Papers: SU, Fresh Prints; Chatterbos, Scrapbook Walls
Alpha: Lawn Fawn, Louie's ABCs
Punch: Woodware, circle
Die: Clearly Besotted, Journal It

Well that's me done for today. Now it's over to you. I'm looking forward to seeing your colours and how you interpret the grid of circles and reading your journalling. Be sure to share your pages, or cards, here.

And keep crafting!

Sunday Slot

Today's card uses the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch and combines with the EYES have it and one layer required by Less is More.

We'd love you to display our banner     http://casethissketch.blogspot.com.au/2015/08/case-this-sketch-135.html

So off I went to my favourite digi stamp store and found this cute owl.

There's something so crisp and defined about a digi stamp and I always love how they look on one layer cards. And what fun it is to indulge in a little colouring!

I hand drew a curved line for the present to sit on in a very subtle shade - so subtle it's almost invisible in the photos. But it is there and is my interpretation of the line from the sketch.

Supplies:
Stamps: Digi Stamp Boutique, Birthday Merlin; Clearly Besotted, Say It In Style
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Promarkers: fuchsia pink, amethyst, cool aqua
Flexmarkers: putty, cinnamon, light fawn

So that's my third combo of challenges in a row, think I might just be getting the hang of it! Thanks so much for visiting my blog today and I hope you're having a great weekend.

And keep crafting!

Saturday Slot

Yep, I've done it again! Combined challenges that is. Today's card is for Happy Little Stampers sketch challenge and also Addicted to CAS.

No surprises which stamp set I reached for then - just had to be Uniko Garlands Galore!

I kept my card very simple as both challenges ask for CAS and just let the stamps take centre stage.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, All Occasion Sentiments #2, Garland Galore, Simply Said Birthday
Injks: Memento, tuxedo black
Promarkers: poppy, peach, tulip yellow, azure, leaf green

So pleased you had time to stop by my blog today, thank you!

And keep crafting!

CAS Colours & Sketches #136

Today is the first of the August challenges at CAS Colours & Sketches. This month Patricia is our hostess and she has some fun colours and sketches lined up. As always the first challenge of the month is a colour combo - and these colours are just so pretty!

http://cascoloursandsketches.blogspot.co.uk/

So of course I just had to get out that Uniko Pure Florals Cosmos stamp again! And I used a favourite layout to showcase them.

I stamped the circles in wisteria wonder for the horizontal strip, then matched the other two colours as closely as possible to colour the petals of the two cosmos flowers. Have I said how gorgeous this stamp set is?

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Pure Florals Cosmos, Simply Said Birthday, Background Builders Round In Circles
Inks: SU, wisteria wonder; Memeto, tuxedo black
Promarekers: pastel pink, buttercup

I discovered a brand new challenge blog this week - A Bit More Time To Craft - and it's always anything goes there. So I thought I'd pop my card in and add a bit of CAS to the mix.

http://abitmoretimetocraft.blogspot.co.uk/2015/08/a-bit-more-time-to-craft-challenge.html

Well that's me done for today. Go check out the CAS Colours & Sketches DT cards and welcome our new Guest Designer Jen, better known as Magic Flying Boots. She'll be adding her awesome talent to our challenges throughout August.

Thanks for your time today - and keep crafting!

The Male Room #16

Have you had your holiday yet or are you still, like me, looking forward to it? Well whichever it is, The Male Room has the perfect theme for you to reminisce or get in the mood, check it out here.

http://purplejetlovescrafts.blogspot.com/2015/08/uniko-challenge-24-reminder.html

I found this really fun image at Digi Stamp Boutique and set to work creating a beach scene. I cut a cloud mask for the sky and tore a mask for the sand.

I think he needs to watch out for that sea gull, they're such terrors for stealing ice creams, but then maybe a lolly is safe.

I chose really hot colours to matt the image and went for an asymmetric look.

Supplies:
Stamps: Digi Stamp Boutique, Alf Cooling Off; Clearly Besotted, On The Beach
Inks: SU, soft sky, so saffron
Promarkers: poppy, denim blue, cool grey, tulip yellow
Die:Lawn Fawn, Happy Birthday border

We're welcoming Sue of Cards by Q as Guest Designer for August and you can see what she has created, and the rest of the DT, here.

Thanks for visiting my blog today, hoping to visit yours too to check out your entry to the challenge.

And keep crafting!
