This month at
Uniko we're revisiting a very gorgeous and must have stamp set for the Christmas season. So many possibilities and ways to use this classic Christmas image.
I know poinsettias are red but I wasn't too sure about the markings so I popped over to pinterest to check this out. And that completely changed my mind and inspired me to go for an icy white with lots of sparkle.
It's such a very beautiful stamp set I wanted to give the flower lots of dimension by layering it up, so I stamped and embossed it with sparkly powder three times onto vellum. I remembered reading somewhere that you need to apply the heat from the back with vellum, so that's what I did.
Then I cut out two whole flowers and one with just the the centre petals and layered it up on top of a matching ribbon. The addition of a few sparkly gems to the middle and round the outside just finished it all off perfectly.
And then look what happened!
I couldn't resist making another card using the more traditional colours of red and gold. So rich and spectacular in this colourway! I'm wondering which version is your favourite?
Difficult for me to decide, but maybe the white poinsettia just has the edge.
