CAS Colours & Sketches #150

WOW! Challenge 150 begins today at CAS Colours & Sketches. And we're not going to let this special day go by without a bit of a celebration. Sooo........... there are prizes to be won!

http://cascoloursandsketches.blogspot.com/2015/11/challenge-150.html

And as it's a celebration sketch challenge, my card was made with another celebration in mind - my oldest son's wedding anniversary.

So my aperture naturally became a heart. I used a Martha Stewart punch and then popped a scrap of patterned paper behind it. I picked up on the little spot of green from the paper and the number one became eight - which actually doesn't tell the full story as they've been together since school days, so it's more like eighteen years.

I added the very gorgeous Uniko heart stamped to the left of the aperture and matted the whole strip onto matching purple card. My daughter-in-law possibly loves purple even more than me.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Always & Forever, Plower Power #9, Classic Numbers
Inks: Memento, graped jelly; SU, pear pizzazz

As Uniko are one of the sponsors for this celebration challenge and I'm also on the Uniko DT I have a second card to share.

I'm keeping to the wedding anniversary theme, but this it's all golden. And I know from looking in card shops that Golden Wedding cards tend to be very flowery and heavily embellished, but as we're CAS and fussy is not to everyone's taste my card reflects this.

I started by die cutting and embossing a circle aperture then stamping and heat embossing all the stamped images in gold. The flower was stamped onto parchment to give a different look and I love how the gold mat paper just adds a bit of colour.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Flower Power #3 & #7, Classic Numbers
Ink: Versamark
Embossing: Personal Impressions, mirror gold
Die: Spellbinders, Standard Circles Small

Hope you found this post inspiring and are now ready to get your creative hat on and go try to win some prizes. Check them out, and the rest of the DT cards, here.

Thanks for dropping by today. I'm very grateful for your time.

And keep crafting!

25 Days of Christmas Tags

Today Uniko is sponsoring the challenge at Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags.  This is the 5th year Tracey will be doing the feature on her blog and Uniko is delighted to join in.

For all the event information & link up click HERE.

Apart from the fact that it has to be a tag - duh, you knew that! - the theme is anything goes. So I went to town and jazzed up a couple of tags in black and gold - my colours for Christmas 2015.

One of the best things about creating small projects like this is how you can use loads of stuff, but still somehow come up with a CAS finish. So I stamped and embossed the back tag and paper pieced the front one. A bit of a slick of distess ink to emphasise the edges, a sprinkle dot on Santa's bobble and a double threaded bow and I was finished.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Jolly Christmas, Background Builders Christmas
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black; Ranger distress, black soot; Versamark
Embossing powder: Personal Impressions, mirror gold & black
Paper: Kaisercraft, A Touch of Gold

Are you going to play along? Of course you are! Happy Christmas creating to you!

Thanks for your time today, I love that you found my blog.  And keep crafting!

Uniko - November Release Day

AT LAST! The Uniko November release is revealed in its entirety and available to purchase on the main website - here.

I'll keep you waiting no longer, here they all are:

Such fun working with this release, hope you enjoy my samples cards as much I enjoyed creating them.

One of the best things about Uniko stamps is how they mix and match so perfectly - such good value. Here I've combined Essentially Christmas with Background Builders Christmas.

Supplies:
Stamps: Essentially Christmas, Background Builders Christmas
Inks: SU, garden green, cherry cobbler
Promarker: pine
Die: Lil'inker, stitched mats recatangles
Embellishments: Wink of Stella clear

Just had to give that gorgeous rainbow black embossing power another airing - see my first card using it here.

This card combines Labeled Christmas with five other Uniko stamp sets - WOW!

A closer look at that sparkle.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Labeled Christmas, stars from Essentially Christmas, Stunning Snowflakes, Jingle Bells, strings from Balloon Bash, wavy line from Garlands Galore
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black; Versamark
Embossing: Crafty Impressions, black rainbow sparkle

And after that modern take, back to a much more traditional style - see how versatile Uniko stamps are!

I've paired up two of the new sets for this card - Jingle Bells and Essentially Christmas.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Jingle Bells, Essentially Christmas
Inks: SU, garden green, real red
Die: Spellbinders, standard circles small
Pen: Sakura gelly roll, gold

And to celebrate the release this month there will be two - yes two - blog hops and chances to win an amazing prize.  Today the UK DT will be hosting a mini bloghop and then later this month, on Saturday 28th, there will be a Countdown to Christmas bloghop with all the DT participating.

The Male Room Challenge #23

The new challenge at The Male Room starts today and the theme is one we all have to address at some point.

http://themaleroomchallengeblog.blogspot.com/2015/11/challenge-23-theme.html

And as it's Remembrance Day here in the UK and we all wear poppies I went with a card that could be used for this or even as a sympathy card.

I decided to paper piece my poppy stamp and chose a tartan paper to keep my card masculine. So I stamped the poppies once onto the card and then again onto the paper. I hand cut the poppies and stuck them in place over the stamped image. I then added the flower middles.

Before mounting the poppy panel onto red card I embossed three lines down the right hand side. I finished off the card with the sentiment and some black gems.

Supplies:
Stamps: Clearly Besotted, Remember
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black, bamboo leaves
Ppaer: Paper Cellar, Squares
Embellishments: Mei Flower gems

Well I'm hoping I won't need this card in the near future, but it's always good to have one prepared. I'm wondering how you will intepret this theme and still keep your card masculine - a tad tricky I'm thinking. If you want more inspiration check out the DT creations - here - and we also have a new amazing Guest Designer joining us for November - Vicki of Stamp Smiles.

Thanks for your time today. And keep crafting!
