CAS Colours & Sketches #165

A new colour challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches today and I'm hoping you'll like this combo as they were chosen by me!

http://cascoloursandsketches.blogspot.com/2016/03/challenge-165-colours.html

Now I'm a bit of a fan of huge sentiments - you probably already know that - and I love the font of this particular stamp from Create A Smile.

I used night of navy to stamp all the sentiment words and then set too to add the other two colours in a more supporting role.

As I had a little bit of watermelon wonder cardstock in my stash and I used it to mat my sentiment strip.

Supplies:
Stamps: Create A Smile, Make A Wish; SU, Gorgeous Grunge
Inks: watermelon wonder, marina mist, night of navy
Card: SU, watermelon wonder

Have you seen the rest of the DT cards yet? Find them here. Inspired? I hope so, as I'm looking forward to visiting your blogs and leaving some love.

Thanks for looking today, I really appreciate it.  And keep crafting!

The Male Room - Challenge #31

Already time to be thinking about Easter, how quickly the year progresses! Although for children waiting for their chocolate eggs maybe it doesn't! Any way today at The Male Room begins an Easter themed challenge.

http://themaleroomchallengeblog.blogspot.com/2016/03/challenge-31-theme.html

My card was made with my youngest grandson in mind and I chose Clearly Besotted's cute but cheeky - just like he is - chicks peeping out through circular windows.

I started by punching the windows and then used them as a guide along with my misti to position the chick stamps on the background card. And they were so much fun to colour!

I stamped the sentiment on the window card before using a piece of funky foam to raise it slightly. Loving the dimension and shadows this gives. Oh and that one curved corner to echo the the circular windows - and just because I'm hooked on this at the moment.

Supplies:
Stamps: Clearly Besotted, Chirpy chick
Inks: SU, pumpkin pie, Memento, tuxedo black
Pens: Pigma Micron 005; Promarkers, cool grey 1, ivory, buttercup, tulip yellow, mustard, burnt orange

The rest of The Male Room's DT have been busy creating Easter cards. Go see them here and then get your thinking cap on to produce your Easter themed project suitable for the men in your life.

Thanks for dropping by today and spending some time looking at my blog.  And keep crafting!

Tuesday Talk

Today I've indulged myself by using some gorgeous purples and pinks for a card made for the STAMPlorations Theme & Sketch challenge and Sir Stampalot's March challenge theme Flower Power.

http://stamplorations.blogspot.co.uk/2016/03/march-challenge.html   http://stamplorations.blogspot.co.uk/2016/03/march-challenge.html   Please grab our logo

Here's my purple passion:

I put some card through a Cuttlebug embossing folder and then stamped the flower over the top in all three colours, rotating the stamp a little between layers. This gave me the texture and splodgy look I wanted for the background layer of my card.

I stamped the flower in purple then rotated it slightly and just inked up the edges in the lilac before stamping it again.  Then I rotated it a bit more and inked the edges in pink before stamping for a third time. A narrow matted purple border on both the background and flower layers and my card was done.

Supplies:
Stamps: Visible Image, Flower Inkognito; Uniko, Simply Said
Inks: Memento, grape jelly, lilac posies, rose bud, tuxedo black
Embossing: Cuttlebug, branches

Thanks for visiting my blog today, I really appreciate the time you spent with me here.

Monday Moments

This is my second post today, if you're looking for The Memory Nest's post please scroll on down.

So I'm back this evening with a card I made to satisfy a couple of challenges. Less is More would like a one layer card where the sentiment takes centre stage - right up my street then! And Inkspirational have a pink & grey colour challenge - and do I love pink as much as purple? It's a close thing!

We'd love you to display our banner     http://www.inkspirationalchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2016/03/challenge-104-colour-pink-and-grey.html

 Here's my card:

I started by masking off most of my card and brushing an inky strip down the left hand side. I then stamped the sentiment and added the flowers and leaves.

Really simple, really quick and really my kind of thing.

Supplies:
Stamps: SU, Botanicals For You
Inks: SU. smoky slate; Memento, rose bud, angel pink
Punch: Xcut, corner rounder

Thanks for looking this evening, double thanks if this is your second visit today, all your time and comments make my day.

And keep crafting!

The Memory Nest - Make It Monday Challenge # 56

The first challenge for March begins today at The Memory Nest.  And the sketch is one of those easy to interpret and versatile ones that you'll want to keep coming back to time and again.

http://thememorynest.blogspot.com/2016/01/make-it-monday-no-55.html

For my page I wanted to feature a clump of daffodils that bloomed ridiculously early this year, so I decided to use the square photo element for my journalling. I often include pages about my garden as it progresses over the year, but I really needed to explain why these daffodils were so different from other years.

And because I couldn't ever remember daffodils blooming outside quite this early and risking the icy blasts we were sure to have at some point to catch them out I came up with the daft daffodil title.

I experimented with several different kinds of embellishments, but eventually settled on the simple trios of buttons as I liked the simple unfussy look of the page.

And so far those daft daffodils have got away with it and are still blooming prettilly.

Supplies:
Ppaers: Webster's Pages, dream in colour; ep, All about a boy; AC, Rise & Shine; Simple Stories, So Fancy
Alphas: AC thickers, Stroll; Simple Stories, So Rad
Embellishments: buttons from my stash

So now it's over to you - what will you do with this sketch? I always love looking at all your pages as they pop up in The Memory Nest's gallery - it never ceases to amaze me how different they all look when they've come from the same starting point.

Thanks for looking today and spending some time with me here. Hope you enjoyed your visit.

And keep crafting!

AAA Cards - Challenge #60 Easter

Time to start thinking about Easter with the bank holiday weekend rapidly approaching. How will you celebrate? Is it church or chocolate for you?

Well AAA Cards is hoping whatever your thing is it includes making an Easter card.

http://aaacards.blogspot.com/2016/02/game-60-easter.html

Another fabulous prize is up for grabs this fortnight - a Happy Little Stampers $20 gift certificate for the lucky winner.

My card uses the really cute images from Clearly Besotted and some traditional Spring colours.

Do your children go out egg hunting round the garden with a basket? Or maybe that's a wheelbarrow these days with the size of the boxes I've seen in the shops!

I've rounded all the corners of the image and mats to be in keeping with the eggs, but kept with my favourite one rounded card base corner.

Supplies:
Stamps: Clearly Besotted, Chirpy Chicks
Ink: SU, chocolate chip
Promarkers: buttercup, tulip yellow, mustard, burnt orange, leaf green, marsh green, ivory, satin, sandstone, umber

So how will you interpret AAA Cards Easter theme? Go check out the DT cards for more ideas and then it's over to you.

Thanks for your time today and may your Easter weekend be egg-ceptionally crafty!

Saturday Slot

Today I'm joining in with Addicted to Stamps and More's CAS challenge - has to be my favourite type of card - and Craft Stamper magazine's Anything Goes March challenge.

http://addictedtostamps-challenge.blogspot.co.uk/2016/03/challenge-184-clean-and-simple.html    Take It, Make It Challenge

I'm giving my new Visible Image freebie from this month's Craft Stamper magazine an airing and I combined it with a fabulous large sentiment from Uniko.

I started by making a circular stencil and brushing through it with a pale pink. I then stamped over it with the darker pink circles, some of them a second stamping. I used my misti to get a good depth of colour for the freebie flower and then stamped it off to make the background smudgy flowers.

I added the sentiment, again using the misti to get a really defined stamping - however did I manage before? Have to say this has been one of my better buys and well worth the expense. A trio of sequins just finished off my card.

Supplies:
Stamps: Visible Image, Universal & freebie flower from Craft Stamper magazine; Uniko, All Occasion Sentiments #6
Inks: SU, pink pirouette, strawberry slush; Memento, tuxedo black
Embellishments: sequins from my stash

Huge thanks to you for stopping by my blog today, always pleased to have visitors.

And keep crafting!
