Uniko - Introducing Fun Flowers

How kind is Bev this month with only two stamp sets in her Uniko April release - see I know you're going to want both and this makes it so affordable.

Oh yummy, I'm so in love with Fun Flowers! And the set really lives up to its title and is a joy to create with.  Of course I just had to add in my favourite mix of colours and I was happy as Larry! (Strange saying and I've no idea who Larry is)

I embossed a strip of card to go across the top and then wrapped narrow ribbon round three times and knotted a faux bow to the left. The stamps were added to die cut circles and the larger two popped up onto pads.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Fun Flowers, Simply Said
Inks: Memento, rose bud, lilac posies, elderberry, tuxedo black
Embossing: Crafts-Too
Dies: Lawn Fawn, large stitched circle stackables; Spellbinders, standard circles small
Ribbon: SU, lucky limeade

Mmm gorgeous flower heads to play with! So why not go take a look at the rest of the DT's fabulous creations and then prepare yourself for the full reveal and chance to buy on Monday 11th April. Oh and of course a blog hop and chance to win both sets too - see you tomorrow then!

Great to have you visit today, thanks a million!  And keep crafting!

AAA Cards Challenge #62 Anything Goes

Fancy a nice easy challenge with a fantastic prize? Well look no further than AAA Cards - it's 'Anything Goes' - as long as it's CAS of course!

 http://aaacards.blogspot.com/2016/04/game-62-anything-goes.html

Having shared  a photo of my stash of washi tape the other day - here - I decided there was nothing for it but to get on and put some on a card. So 'Anything Goes' was the perfect excuse.

I had to go out into the garden to photograph my card today as one of my son's and his family are curretnly visiting and the rooms they're using are the brightest and best places for photography. Not that I'm complaining mind you, I love having them here, but it does mean there's a bit more background inteference on my photo than usual.

I use this layout on cards all the time, it's one of my favourites as it always gives a lot of clear white space and a good clean card.

Supplies:
Stamps: Visible Image, Butterfly; Uniko, sentiment from A Gift For You
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Washi from my stash

I know this will be a popular challenge - 'Anything Goes' always is - so I'm poised to come visit your blogs and leave some love. Follow this link and pop your card into our gallery!

Thanks for your time today, so grateful to have you visit. And keep crafting!

Uniko - Introducing Celebrate With Cake

So today sees the first introduction of the April release from Uniko. And if you love cake - and who doesn't? - you'll going to love this stamp set.

I went with a bit of a patriotic colour scheme for my card. I was thinking of the Queen's 90th birthday celebrations coming up this Summer when no doubt there'll be a few street parties with cupcakes on the tables.

I cut banner flags for the sentiments and then used a fine sharpie pen for the sticks. The stars of course have been sparkled up with Wink of Stella.

Supplies;
Stamps: Uniko, Celebrate With Cake
Inks: SU, real red; Memento, Danube blue, tuxedo black
Embellishments: wink of Stella, clear

Well I'm hoping you've got the taste for this stamp set now - sorry couldn't resist the terrible pun! Check out what the rest of the DT have created and you'll get a bit more of a peek into the contents of this set before all is revealed on Monday 11th April.

So pleased you popped in today, thanks for your visit. And keep crafting!

CAS Colours & Sketches #168

Such a bright and beautiful trio of colours chosen by Louise at CAS Colours & Sketches this week. A joy to create with!

http://cascoloursandsketches.blogspot.com/2016/04/colour-challenge-168.html

I started by stamping one of the gorgeous grunge stamps from SU onto watercolur paper. I then spritzed it with water and let the colours run until there was nothing left of the stamp.

Once the inks had dried I stamped the butterfly and sentiment on top. A few enamel sprinkles and a narrow matting onto black card and I was done.

Supplies:
Stamps: Newton's Nook, Beautiful Wings; SU, Gorgeous Grunge
Inks: SU, melon mambo, daffodil delight, tangerine tango; Memento, tuxedo black
Embellishments: Doodlebug Sprinkles, beetle black asst.

I know you're going to love these colours as much as me, so get on over to check out the rest of the CC&S DT samples and then indulge yourself and enjoy!

Thanks for visiting today, your time is much appreciated.  And keep crafting!

The Memory Nest - Make It Monday Challenge #57

Hey! I'm here today to show you how I used the sketch from The Memory Nest's new Make It Monday challenge.

http://thememorynest.blogspot.com/2016/04/make-it-monday-no-57.html

I love including some right now or currently pages in each of my yearly albums and decided for today's sketch I'd focus on the youngest of my grandsons.

I rifled through my stash and found these bright scraps as well as a whole 12x12 sheet in blue - they've all been lurking there so long I no longer know the make.

I used the sketch to build the basics, then left it on my desk overnight and added some extra label stickers, the arrow and the word the next morning. I often do this when crafting and find distancing myself for a while helps to clarify my thoughts about how to progress or sometimes to just leave a project as it is.

I used the second photo spot from the sketch for some boxes which I created digitally before handwriting the journalling.

Supplies:
Papers: large sheet & scraps from my stash
Alphas: Freckled Fawn, Puffy Alphabet Stickers
Stickers: Simple Stories, So Rad; Lilybee Designs, Labels

I'm thinkng this sketch worked really well for this theme and - here's a little heads up - my page for the next Make It Monday will be featuring my other two grandsons as the sketch really insisted that I use two photos.

Thanks for looking at my blog today. Maybe you'll be inspired to make scrapbook page or card using this sketch - really hope so. Go check out the rest of the DT projects here and then get crafting!

So Saturday

Warmer Springlike weather seems to have finally found its way to my neck of the woods and crafting time has been gobbled up by the call of my garden. But I did mange to grab a little time today to visit my craft room and came up with a card for Less is More and Color Throwdown challenges.

We'd love you to display our banner          http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.co.uk/2016/04/throwdown-countdown-386.html
  White space but not WHITE

Here's my card:

I decided to use the turquoise from Color Throwdown as my non-white white space for Less is More. I used some white embossing paste and a stencil to make the left hand strip of flowerheads.

While that was drying I stamped and handcut a butterfly using mustardy green paper. This was added to the card with a foam square. I finished off with a simple sentiment.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, English Country Garden Butterflies & All Occasion Sentiments #6
Inks: Mmento, tuxedo black
Stencil: TCW, Mini Postcard
Embossing: Dreamweaver paste, white

Thanks for looking today, I really value your time.  And keep crafting!
