CAS Colours & Sketches #169

This week it's a sketch challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches and Louise has asked that the proportions of the sketch be adhered to.

http://cascoloursandsketches.blogspot.com/2016/04/sketch-challenge-169.html

So now I'm going to make you all jealous as I used the newly released Uniko Fun Flowers stamp set which I'm guessing won't have had time to make it into your stash yet.

I embossed a piece of white card and then cut the two rectangles from the sketch. I used two different sized stamps from the the set as the circular elements. Don't you just love how these stamps have a doodled sort of look?

A simple little sentiment and a rounded corner finished my card perfectly.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Fun flowers & Simply Said
Inks: SU, daffodil delight, tangerine tango, melon mambo; Memento, tuxedo black
Embossing: Do Crafts, quilting folder

Have you seen the amazing creations from the rest of my teammies? Click here to go check them out.

One last little thing before I go - amazingly I've reached 50 followers. I'm so thrilled about this and have always said to myself if this ever happened I'd do a little giveaway. So if you're a follower and would be interested in being put into a random draw for a little gift please mention this in a comment and I'll pull a name out of a hat on Sunday 17th.

Huge thanks for dropping by my blog today, I really value your time.  And keep crafting!

The Male Room - Challenge #33

There's a technique theme at The Male Room this next fortnight - Triple Stamping. Why not give it go?

http://themaleroomchallengeblog.blogspot.com/2016/04/challenge33-technique.html

Here's my card:

There's a video tutorial about triple stamping on the TMR blog, but this is how I made my card:

I started with three pieces of white card - 2" x 3.25", 3" x 4.25", 4" x 5.25" - all stuck together in a pile with repositional glue. I stamped the sentiment first and then covered it with a rectangular mask before stamping the rest of my images.

The three layers were then separated and matted onto green or grey card before being permanently stuck back into a pile again. The mats are all cut 0.25" larger than the white cards, which gives a really thin mat with just minimal disturbance of the the stamp lines.

Supplies:
Stamps: Bee Crafty, Phraes & Sentiments; Visible Image, Universal, Angels Are Near
Inks: SU, smoky slate; memento, tuxedo black
Card: SU, cucmber crush; grey from my stash

Neat technique don't you think?  I'm thinking this is a card destined for my scrapbook album. Hop on over and check out what the rest of the DT have created - here - and then be sure to have a go yourself.

Thanks for looking today, I hope I may have inspired you a little.  And keep crafting!

Tuesday Talk

My Isle of Man family went home on Sunday after a lovely week's visit so I decided the only way to fill the quiet and space that they leave was to magic away a few hours in my craftroom. So today's share is one of the cards I created to lift my spirits.

I'm entering it into three challenges - Addicted To CAS, Happy Little Stampers Christmas and Additcted to Stamps and More.

http://www.addictedtocas.blogspot.co.uk/2016/04/challenge-85-inlaid-dies.html    http://www.happylittlestampers.com/2016/04/hls-april-christmas-challenge.html   http://addictedtostamps-challenge.blogspot.co.uk/2016/04/challenge-188-holiday.html

Here's my card:

I used three different dies and inlaid them all to produce a flat postal friendly card. The scene ball was brushed with blue ink and then stamped and the circular frame was brushed over with a mixture of blue and purple ink. The star was cut from purple glitter card.

The sentiment and one curved corner completed my card.

Supplies:
Stamps: Clearly Besotted, Set the Scene; Kaisercraft, Magic of Christmas
Inks: Memento, grape jelly, Paris dusk, tuxedo black
Dies: Clearly Besotted, Set the Scene; Lawn Fawn, large stitched circle stackables; Di-namics, Lucky Stars

I'm also sharing a card I made recently for a Card Chain Challenge.  This is such a fun way to link up with crafters across the world and actually make a card with someone definitely in mind. The recipient in Spain has now received it so it's ok to share with everyone. April was my first try at this and I've already signed up for May. Here's my card:

Supplies:
Stamps:Penny Black, Purrfect Day
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black; SU tangelo twist, crisp cantaloupe, so saffron
Promarkers: khaki, soft peach, peach, burnt orange, vanilla

Thanks so much for your time today, I really appreciate your visit to my blog.

And keep crafting!

Uniko - April Release Day & Blog hop

YAY! Today is release day at Uniko and the first chance to see the new stamp sets in their entirety. A delightful duo of deliciousness!

I have two cards to share today and my first uses the oh so scrummy Celebate with Cake. Who doesn't love cupcakes?

I paired up this set with some patterned paper and matched the ink colours accordingly.

Supplies: Stamps: Uniko, Celebrate With Cake
Inks: SU, mint macaron, crisp cantaloupe, mosst meadow
Dies: Spellbinders standard circles small; Lawn Fawn, large stitched square tackables
Paper: SU, Birthday Bouquet
Embellishments: Papermania, iridescent adhesive stones; Wink of Stella

My second card using Fun Flowers sees me slipping back to my all time favourite purple colours.

I paired this set up with one of Uniko's All Occasion Sentiments and tried to achieve an ombre effect using three of the purple shades.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Fun Flowers, All Occasion Sentiments #6
Inks: Memento, lulu lavendar, sweet plum, grape jelly, elderberry

I'm keeping my blogging fairly brief today. It would be so easy to let the writing flow about these amazing new stamps, but I know you're going to be keen to get buying and/or trying to win them. So I'll cut to the chase and just add the blog hop order straightaway:

Jane - that's me

Thanks for finding time to stop by today, so pleased to see you.  And keep crafting!

The Memory Nest - Make It Monday Challenge #58

Today sees the start of a new Make It Monday sketch challenge at The Memory Nest.

http://thememorynest.blogspot.com/2016/04/make-it-monday-no-58.html

What do you think? Something very different I thought, it's not often that the page is divided up like this.

Last week I shared a 'right now' now page about my youngest grandson, so I decided to make a 'currently' page about my other two grandsons to go on the facing page in my album. And as this sketch had the two distinctive areas it was ideal.

I linked this page with last week's by using some of the same papers. The photos were cropped from one larger photo and added in each corner.

The tricky bit was getting them to tell me the information I needed. Admirers of Ali Edwards like me will be used to thinking along these lines so it came as a bit of surprise to be questioned back with    'are you writing this down?' and 'have you got a list of questions?' and 'what on earth do you mean by 'watching' and 'hoping' etc. But we got there eventually!

Supplies:
Paper: MME, Cut & Paste; scraps from my stash
Alphas: Freckled Fawn, Puffy Alphabet Stickers
Stickers: Simple Stories, So Rad; Bella Blvd, Mr Boy

Please do go check out what the rest of the DT have done with this sketch - here - you'll be impressed. And I'll be dropping by your blogs once your pages pop up in the gallery.

Thanks for your time today, it's been great having you visit my blog.  And keep crafting!

Uniko - Introducing Fun Flowers

How kind is Bev this month with only two stamp sets in her Uniko April release - see I know you're going to want both and this makes it so affordable.

Oh yummy, I'm so in love with Fun Flowers! And the set really lives up to its title and is a joy to create with.  Of course I just had to add in my favourite mix of colours and I was happy as Larry! (Strange saying and I've no idea who Larry is)

I embossed a strip of card to go across the top and then wrapped narrow ribbon round three times and knotted a faux bow to the left. The stamps were added to die cut circles and the larger two popped up onto pads.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Fun Flowers, Simply Said
Inks: Memento, rose bud, lilac posies, elderberry, tuxedo black
Embossing: Crafts-Too
Dies: Lawn Fawn, large stitched circle stackables; Spellbinders, standard circles small
Ribbon: SU, lucky limeade

Mmm gorgeous flower heads to play with! So why not go take a look at the rest of the DT's fabulous creations and then prepare yourself for the full reveal and chance to buy on Monday 11th April. Oh and of course a blog hop and chance to win both sets too - see you tomorrow then!

Great to have you visit today, thanks a million!  And keep crafting!

AAA Cards Challenge #62 Anything Goes

Fancy a nice easy challenge with a fantastic prize? Well look no further than AAA Cards - it's 'Anything Goes' - as long as it's CAS of course!

 http://aaacards.blogspot.com/2016/04/game-62-anything-goes.html

Having shared  a photo of my stash of washi tape the other day - here - I decided there was nothing for it but to get on and put some on a card. So 'Anything Goes' was the perfect excuse.

I had to go out into the garden to photograph my card today as one of my son's and his family are curretnly visiting and the rooms they're using are the brightest and best places for photography. Not that I'm complaining mind you, I love having them here, but it does mean there's a bit more background inteference on my photo than usual.

I use this layout on cards all the time, it's one of my favourites as it always gives a lot of clear white space and a good clean card.

Supplies:
Stamps: Visible Image, Butterfly; Uniko, sentiment from A Gift For You
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Washi from my stash

I know this will be a popular challenge - 'Anything Goes' always is - so I'm poised to come visit your blogs and leave some love. Follow this link and pop your card into our gallery!

Thanks for your time today, so grateful to have you visit. And keep crafting!
