Saturday Slot

Today I'd like to share a card I made for Time Out's CASE With Your Own Twist challenge.

Grab Our Badge!

Here's my card:

I picked up on the colours, square frame and splatters. My twist was to change the flower cluster into a butterfly and add a sentiment lower down.

I stamped the flower inkognito Visible Image stamp twice facing in different directions and then stamped the butterfly on top. I die cut the square frame and then attached it over the stamping. I stamped another buttefly on to vellum, coloured it, cut it out and attached it over the frame.

Supplies:
Stamps: Visible Image, flower inkognito, butterfly, thank you set
Inks: SU, smoky slate; Memento, tuxedo black; Staz-on, jet black
Promarkers: hot pink, antique pink
Die: Spellbinders, classic square large

This card will also be going into Visible Image's May Show & Tell.

Stamploration Guest Designer

Hey! I'm so pleased you've dropped by today as I'm sharing a card I made as Guest Designer for Stamplorations Theme and Sketch Challenge. Their theme for May is Stamps & Anything Goes.

http://stamplorations.blogspot.com/2016/05/may-challenge.html

http://stamplorations.blogspot.com/2016/05/may-challenge.html

Here's my card:

As you know I adore sentiment heavy cards and Stamplorations have loads of wonderful sentiment style stamp sets - totally spoilt for choice!

I started by inking up the three circles using a homemade stencil, masking off as I went. Then I stamped the sentiments straight on top using the misti to get a good deep colour.

I finished off my card with a strip of washi down the left hand side and my usual rounding of one corner.

Supplies:
Stamps: Stamplorations, Discover & Noteworthy
Inks: SU, crushed curry, strawberry slush, marina mist; Memento, tuxedo black

CAS Colours & Sketches #172

The first May challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches sees Caro as our hostess and she's chosen three of the retiring Stampin Up colours to give everyone a chance to bid them a fond farewell.

http://cascoloursandsketches.blogspot.com/2016/04/colour-challenge-172.html

I'm guessing they will still be making an appearance every now and then at CC&S, which is just as well since they are such lovely bright colours and everyone wants to make good use of their ink stash.

I decided to use the partially coloured technique for my card and die cut one large and two smaller circles from the stamped image. I then added colour using a waterbrush to colour just the die cut circles and the stems. Once dry the circles were popped back into their apertures.

In places I added a little too much water and the green on the stems flooded out a bit, but I'm happy with that look as it's one of the things that often happens with watercolouring.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Pure Florals:Cosmos, Simply Said Birthday
Inks: SU, hello honey, ,ossy meadow, tangelo twist; Staz On, jet black
Die: Spellbinders, standard circles small

So what will you create as your tribute to these three colours? I'll be looking out for your cards popping up in the CC&S gallery.

This card is going into the CAS Challenge at Happy Little Stampers where their theme is inlaid dies and the Make Your Mark Challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More.

Wednesday Words

Tooday I'm sharing a card I made for Happy Little Stampers CASE the designer challenge.

http://www.happylittlestampers.com/2016/05/may-case-designer-melissa-lane_1.html

This month the card to CASE is made by Melissa, who also happens to be a teammie with me at AAA Cards, so of course I had to join in!

I'm always fearful of black card and it was with some trepidation that I applied white embossing paste through a stencil, but it seemed to work ok.  Once it was dry I added a couple of colours to pick up on Melissa's use of colour.

I die cut the sentiment and added a little colour and placed it at the top as it looked more balanced there. I also added colour to some vellum before punching the tiny butterfly.

Supplies:
Stencil: TCW, Mini Grow Page
Embossing: Dramweaver paste, white
Dies: Clearly Besotted, thanks; Lil'inker, stitched mats rectangles
Punch: Martha Stewart, triple butterfly
Inks: SU, crisp cantaloupe, blushing bride

Thanks for dropping by today, so pleased to have you visit my blog.  And keep crafting!

Tuesday Talk

Hi! I'm here today to share a card I made for the challenge at Addicted to CAS where the code word is PLAID.

http://www.addictedtocas.blogspot.co.uk/2016/04/challenge-87-plaid.html

Here's my card:

I knew I had a pad of plaid papers lurking in my stash and went searching for a suitable colour to paper piece a flower.  As the plaid pattern is quite a large design I needed a large flower stamp so I chose Uniko's Gerbera.

I kept my card CAS by simply adding a bold sentiment under the flower head.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Pure Florals: Gerbera, All Occasion Sentiments #1
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Paper: Paper Cellar, squares

I'm also popping this card into Less is More's challenge where they want designer paper in a CAS style.

So pleased you had time to drop by today, thanks so much.  And keep crafting!

The Memory Nest - Make It Monday Challenge #59

May Day here in the UK, hope my UK friends are chilling in style! Anyway it's also the first May challenge at The Memory Nest - check out this fab sketch.

http://thememorynest.blogspot.com/2016/04/make-it-monday-no-59.html

I took a bit of artistic licence and rounded those hexagons as I wanted to use a set of photos of my grandson enjoying bubbles in the garden. And bubbles are round, right?

I'm not sure who enjoyed them more, although for me it was watching his reactions to the bubbles rather than the bubbles themselves.

I used the photo slot from the sketch as a journalling card and added a few extra heart and some sentiment stickers down the right hand side.

Supplies:
Paper: scraps from my stash
Alphas: Freckled Fawn, puffy alphabet stickers ; Simple Stories, Summer Vibes
Punch: Martha Stewrt, heart
Stickers: Simple Stories, I Am

Please remember it's absolutely fine to use the sketch as the basis for a card if scrapbooking is not your cup of tea. Oh and go take a look at what the rest of the talented ladies on tMN DT have created too.

Thanks for your time today, I'm really pleased you dropped bu my blog.  And keep crafting!
