Wednesday Words

I'm combining a couple of challenges today Inkspirational's word prompt TEXT and Less is More's colour theme PURPLE.

http://inkspirationalchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2016/06/challenge-110-word-prompt-text.html       We'd love you to display our banner

Here's my card:

Any excuse to get out those purple inks! I started by masking off the right hand side of the card and then stamped the script repeatedly down the left hand side. Next I made a circle stencil and inked through it to create the purple splodge, then I moved it fractionally and inked with some hot pink.

On top of all this I stamped the flower head and word, using the misti tool to get good deep colours. Finally I added a wink of stella to the flower head to give it a subtle glow.

Supplies:
Stamps: Stamplorations, Imagine & Helenium; Inkylicious, Elements 1
Inks: Ranger distress, wilted violet, picked raspberry; Memento, grape jelly, tuxedo black.

Huge thanks for visiting my blog today, I really appreciate your time. And keep crafting!

Tuesday Talk

Happy Little Stampers have a fabulous CASE the Designer Challenge going on at the moment, so of course I had to join in!

http://www.happylittlestampers.com/2016/06/june-case-designer-rahmat-gouse.html

And you know how exciting it is when you realise you've actually got some of the stamps the designer has used, a no brainer then!

So I'm guessing my card is pretty much a literal copy of Rahmat's, just shrunk down a bit. I picked up on the colours and that one flower and even used the same sentiment - hope she likes it!

Supplies:
Stamps: HLS, Mix Mash & Doodled Flowers
Inks: SU, smoky slate, melon mambo, wild wasabi
Promarkers: ruby, antique pink, sunkissed pink, dusky pink, marsh green, ivory

Thanks for your time today, so great to have you visit my blog.  And keep crafting!

The Memory Nest - Make It Monday Challenge #61

Want to throw off those Monday morning blues? Well why not get creative and join in with us at The Memory Nest's Make It Monday Challenge? Remember it doesn't have to be a scrapbook page, cards are more than welcome and this particular sketch lends itself easily to a card.

http://thememorynest.blogspot.com/2016/06/make-it-monday-no-61.html

And didn't I have fun putting this page together! I have a mass of digital products that I use far too little so decided this was the perfect opportunity to give them some love alongside my traditional paper supplies.

The digital elements of my page are the two photos and the mats behind the smaller photo. The large photo was my starting point and I reduced the opacity of it before placing the smaller photo and paterned mats on top of it.

I printed the digital part of my page, placed it on a 12 x 12 patterned paper and then added the title using 3D thickers. I really like the look of the two different alpha packs used together and find this a brilliant way to stretch alphas as they begin to be used up - you know the one where there's always just one letter missing for the word you're trying to spell!

Supplies:
Alphas: AC thickers, Woodland & subway
Paper: from my stash
Digi: class freebies from Jessica Sprague Digi 5

Have you already seen the rest of the DT creations at The Memory Nest? Pretty good aren't they? So your turn now, looking forward to seeing what you create.

Thanks for dropping by today, I really appreciate your time. And keep crafting!

AAA Cards - Game #66 Watercolour

Oh wow am I still reeling from the magic and mayhem of AAA Cards 2nd birthday challenge and games! But already it's time to move on to the next challenge and this one asks you to use a popular and beautiful technique.

http://aaacards.blogspot.com/2016/06/game-66-watercolours.html

Don't you just love how totally unpredictable and unique each card is when you use watercolours?

A bit of a smoosh with three distress ink colours started my card off down this road of discovery. Once dry the incredibly beautiful Visible Image dragonfly was stamped on top - I'm so loving how the colours shine through the wings, almost like the real thing!

My card was finished off with the sentiment quote from the same stamp set - fabulous font and scrolls!

Supplies:
Stamps: Visible Image, Live in the Moment
Inks: Ranger distress, blueprint sketch, cracked pistachio, peacock feathers; Memento, tuxedo black

OK so now it's your turn. Go have fun experimenting and exploring the wonderful effects that watercolours create. The rest of the AAA Cards DT have already done this and you can see the results here. We also have a wonderful Guest Designer joining us for this challenge, Tracey, I hope you'll find time to visit her blog and leave some love.

Thanks for visiting today, hope you enjoyed your time here at my blog.  And keep crafting!

Saturday Slot

So here we are the 4th June and I've still got the central heating on - crazy! So with all this cold, wet, dreary weather the only thing to do is to escape into my craftroom and get inky.

The card I'm sharing today was inspired by the photo cue at Time Out and since ATSM has an Anything Goes theme I'm popping it in there too.

 http://timeoutchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2016/06/challenge-58-home-sweet-home-photo.html    http://addictedtostamps-challenge.blogspot.co.uk/2016/06/challenge-196-anything-goes.html

Here's my card:

I'm so loving my newly arrived Happy Little Stamper stamps that they've been having a bit of a bashing already. I had fun creating the panel using colours from the inspiration photo and then matted it onto petrol blue card to echo the door frame.

I just added a line of die cut stitching to each side of the mat, a sentiment from the same stamp set and one enamel dot to draw the eye to it.

Supplies:
Stamps: HLS, Mix Mash
Inks: Memento, danube blue, teal zeal, rose bud, tangelo, lilac posies, tuxedo black
Die: Paper Smooches, stitched
Embellishment: Freckled Fawn, enamel drop

Brilliant to have you visit my blog today, thanks so much.  Have a great weekend and keep crafting!

Friday Focus

CASology are celebrating a significant milestone this week - their 200th challenge. That's some achievement! And their cue word for this challenge is of course CAS.

http://casology.blogspot.co.uk/2016/05/week-200-cas-blog-candy.html

Here's the card I made to join in with their celebrations:

I embossed the top of the card with a star folder I found lurking in my stash - it just about shows up in the photos. The celebrate die leaves the word attached along the base so it was easy to insert a strip of patterned paper behind it to make it stand out.

Supplies:
Die: MFT Die-namics, celebrate
Paper: Lawn Fawn, Beachside
Embossing: Star folder, not sure where it's from

Thanks for visiting today, so pleased you had time. And keep crafting!

CAS Colours & Sketches #176

This month at CAS Colours & Sketches our hostess is Bev from Uniko and she's chosen a very pretty trio of colours to kick start June's challenges.

http://cascoloursandsketches.blogspot.com/2016/06/colour-challenge-176.html

My immediate thought was to grab some flower stamps and create a really pretty summery card, but then I thought why not try something different and this is what I came up with:

I'm thinking a cool teenager might just love this. I used the lighter two colours to stencil a background and then over stamped the image in rose red.

I've been debating with myself about whether the sentiment should have been rose red too, but whenever I use colours for sentiments I always wish I'd used black - can't win really!

Supplies:
Stamps: Visible Image, teenage kicks
Inks: SU, rose red, blushing bride, so saffron
Stencil: TCW, mini mod spirals

So your turn now - how will you use the colours? There's more inspiration for you from the CAS Colours & Sketches DT and we have a fabulous Guest Designer Fiona joining us for June.

Thanks for looking. And keep crafting!
