Uniko Challenge #33

Well having only just got over the excitement of the Uniko new release here we go with June's chalenge.  This month it's a picture inspiration and we'd like to see it reflected in your cards.

http://unikostudio.blogspot.co.uk/

I started my card by stamping a block of each colour from the picture across a piece of wet watercolour card. I then sprayed it to make it even wetter and allowed the colours to dribble down the card. Then the really difficult bit - leaving it to dry!

So I walked away and did some boring ironing and came back to it later on once it was well and truly dry. Then I stamped the sentiment and the patterned squares, matching each colour as i went.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Background Builders Squared, All Occasion Sentiments #3
Inks: SU, smoky slate, regal rose; Mememnto, teal xeal, cantaloupe, tuxedo black

Have you seen all the other DT cards? - click here. Of course you have and aren't they amazing? So looking forward to seeing how you're inspired by this month's fabulous picture.

Thanks so much for spending some of your precious time looking at my blog today, you're all stars! And keep crafting!

CAS Colours & Sketches # 178

Hey! I'm here today to remind you that there's a new colour challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches.

http://cascoloursandsketches.blogspot.com/2016/06/colour-challenge-178.html

Another wonderful trio from Bev, don't you agree?

I've finally got some Happy Little Stamper products in my stash and I absolutely adore these doodled flowers. And even though they've shipped all the way from Australia - probably as far away from the UK as you can get - the delivery was super quick, only one week from ordering. Fabulous!

Supplies:
Stamps: HLS, Doodled Flowers
Inks: SU, pool party, calypso coral, pear pizazz
Promarkers: cool aqua, olove green, coral
Embellishments: Doodlebug Sprinkles, ladybug asst.

You are so going to enjoy working with these colours, looking forward to seeing your cards pop up in the CC&S gallery. And have you seen the DT cards? Be sure to check them out.

Thanks for your time today, your visit is greatly appreciated.  And keep crafting!

Tuesday Talk

Last month I was lucky enough to have my card chosen as winner of the CASEplorations challenge so today I'm sharing a card I made for their June challenge. And since it uses dies as its focal point I'm also entering it into Happy Little Stampers challenge.

http://stamplorations.blogspot.co.uk/2016/06/caseplorations-june.html           http://www.happylittlestampers.com/2016/06/hls-june-anything-goes-with-dies.html

I love that sewing frame die and the soft gentle colours of the inner circle and they were my starting point for my card. Here it is then:

I used an inside/outside stitched circle die for my frame and cut it twice, once from gold and once from the base card so that I could inlay it. I brushed a little blue onto the inner circle and stamped a few background elements and the sentiment before popping it back into the golden frame.

The flamingo was stamped, coloured and die cut before being adhered with foam pads to the side of the frame.

Supplies:
Stamps: Avery Elle, Flamingo
Inks: SU, smoky slate, marina mist
Promarkers: cool grey 5, pale pinkl, coral
Dies: Averey Elle, Flamingo; Die-namics, inside/outside titched circles

So pleased to have your company here on my blog today, thanks for your time. And keep crafting!

The Memory Nest - Make It Monday Challenge #62

There's a new sketch challenge starting today at The Memory Nest and it's a bit of a corker.

http://thememorynest.blogspot.com/2016/06/make-it-monday-no-62.html

I captured this really tender moment of my youngest grandson exploring in my garden - I love how everything is fresh and exciting and endlessly fascinating at this age - please don't ever grow up!

I flipped the sketch over because of the orientation of the photo and picked colours to co-ordinate. I added punched daisy flowers to echo those in the photo. They also give a nice flow of movement to the page too.

Supplies:
Paper: Bazzill Basics & scraps from my stash
Alphas: Docrafts, Me To You
Dies: Lawn Fawn, heart; Xcut, spiro circles
Punches: Martha Stewart, flower & heart; Woodware, circle
Embellishments: Doodlebug sprinkles, bumblebee asst.

So off you go now over to The Memory Nest and check out what the rest of the DT have come up with. Then go rooting through your photos and see what you can create.

Thanks for looking today, your visit means a lot to me.  And keep crafting!

Sunday Slot

Just dropping by today to share a couple of bits and pieces.

First up it's the Winners Circle for AAA Cards 2nd Big Birthday Bash. All the winners are there today and who knows you could be one of them! Go check it out!

http://aaacards.blogspot.com/2016/06/the-winners-circle-game-65-2nd-big.html

One of the many ways to win a prize was to answer a question posed by each of the DT. So I thought I'd announce the winner of my question here on my blog as well as it being on AAA Cards.

Here's my question: I love balloons on cards as they remind me of fun and laughter. What is your favourite thing to put on cards and why?

And my winner: Michele Henderson

And this is what she said:
I love your cheerful elephant birthday card! My favorite image to put on a card is a little bird - -almost every card I create has one, maybe even on the back. I lost my mom to breast cancer, and in her final days in home hospice care, when she was unable to speak, I would sit with her quietly and we would watch dozens of finches, hummingbirds, and tanagers flock around all the feeders in the yard. It brought her so much peace and serenity. So, adding a little bird to my cards is like sending my mom a little hello, and that makes me smile!

Such a really special reason, just melted my heart! Congratulations Michele, you've won a £10.00 voucher to Digi Stamp Boutique. Hope you'll enjoy choosing images from there. Email me at aaacardchallenge@gmail.com and I'll get it all sorted for you.

Now time to share a card:

This is the card that I made for the May Card Chain Challenge and the recipient has now received it so it's ok to share. And guess what - that image comes from Digi Stamp Boutique. I love how easily their digi stamps are to size and use for clean looking and cute cards.

Well that's me all done for today, thanks for looking.  And keep crafting!
