Wednesday Words

I'm playing along at the Stamplorations Theme & Sketch Challenge today.

http://stamplorations.blogspot.co.uk/2016/09/september-challenge.html  http://stamplorations.blogspot.co.uk/2016/09/september-challenge.html

Here's my card:

I stamped and heat embossed the flower in black and then again in clear slightly offset.  I added distress ink to the bloom's centre directly from the pad and used a brush for the petals.

I then added a covering of ink over the whole card and dropped some water to create the small paler circles. I finished up by heat embossing the sentiment and adding a strip of washi down the side.

Supplies:
Stamps: Stamplorations, Seashell Cosmo & Noteworthy
Inks: Versamark + black & clear embossing powder; Ranger distress picked raspberry
Embellishments: washi from my stash

I'm really thrilled that you found time to come visit my blog today, thanks so much.  And keep crafting!

Tuesday Talk

Today I'm sharing a card I made for a couple pf challenges - CAS Mix Up and Addicted to CAS.

http://casmixup.blogspot.co.uk/2016/09/cas-mix-up-september-challenge.html        http://addictedtocas.blogspot.co.uk/2016/09/challenge-97-stitch.html

Such a brilliant combo of elements to include. Here's my card:

I used a piece of shaving foam marbled card and stitched down one side of it with my sewing machine. This strip was then adhered to the left side of a white base card.

I added my stamped sentiment -  love using inspiring word stamps like this one - using my misti to get that good heavy cover of ink that I was after. The I finished off with a trio of enamel dots to draw the eye. The stitching and the dots are the 'choice' element from CAS Mix Up.

Supplies:
Stamps: Visible Image, smile sparkle shine
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black; Ranger distress re-inkers, peacock feathers & mowed lawn
Emabellishments: Doodlebug sprinkles, beetle black asst.

Thanks for dropping by today, your visit has made my day.  And keep crafting!

The Memory Nest - Make It Monday Challenge #72

Today I'm up on The Memory Nest's Make It Monday Challenge blog and sharing a page I made using the new sketch.

Fabulous layering and a brilliant sketch to focus on a presious photo. Precious for many reasons, but one of them being how rarely I get to photograph them all together.

I picked up on all the red from their shirts and chose a dark grungy paper for the background - really makes the brighter colours pop.

I found the balloon sticker fairly early in the making of this page and it got placed quickly. Then I decided to pick up on the spots from it for the paper mats and make chevrons and stars a feature of my embellishments.

And I had so much fun piling on all the embellishment stickers - a CAS lady going wild!

Supplies:
Papers: Fancy Pants, Beach Babe; ep, Yours Truly; My Mind's Eye, Mischievous; scraps from my stash
Alphas: Simple Stories, Say Cheese
Stickers: Simple Stories, Say Cheese

Such a fabulous sketch I know you're going to want to play. But just before you crack open your stash spend a little time immersing yourself in the delights of the rest of the DT pages at The Memory Nest.

Huge thanks for spending some of your precious time looking at my blog today.  And keep crafting!

Sunday Stuff

I've just discovered a new challenge - Creative With Stamps. I received an email from Monika, one of their DT, and decided to play along. They have a gorgeous inspiration photo and it got my creativity flowing quick sharp!
 http://creativewithstampschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2016/09/cws-challenge-6-photo-inspiration.html    http://creativewithstampschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2016/09/cws-challenge-6-photo-inspiration.html

And here's what I came up with:

The only pumpkin stamps I own are Halloween themed, so I went with apples instead.

I picked up on some of the colours from the palette, but the beige has photographed really ornage - it's a much better match in real life.

Supplies:
Stamps: Clearly Besotted, An apple A Day
Inks: SU, sweet sugarplum, smoky slate; Memento, peanut brittle; Ranger Distress, weathered wood

Thanks for dropping by today, your visit has been greatly appreciated.  And keep crafting!

Saturday Slot

Today I'm sharing a card I made for Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge.

http://www.happylittlestampers.com/2016/09/hls-september-cas-challenge_3.html

This was a technique that I'd not tried before and I absolutely love it!

I inked up the stamp using three colours of SU stamp n' write markers. I spritzed the stamp with water and then stamped it onto water colour card. I blotted the image with a tissue and -  hey! I was thrilled with how it looked all fuzzy and pretty.

I then stamped the end of the sentiment normally. This is one of those cards I can see myself making again in different colours, such an awesome technique and so simple!

Supplies:
Stamps: SU, Botanicals
Pens & Ink: SU, tempting turquoise, melon mambo, tangerine tango

Thanks for your time today, so pleased you came to see my blog.  And keep crafting!

Uniko - Challenge #36

The September challenge at Uniko begins today and this month we'd like to see Autumn with the optional twist of thanks on your projects.
http://unikostudio.blogspot.co.uk/

Here's my card:

I started by inking up an older Uniko lattice stamp set - brand new to me though and its first outing on my blog. I then masked each side of it and brushed some autumn shades over it.

I removed the masks and carefully stamped the leaves and sentiment above and below the strip. I thought the Kaleidacolor multi colour ink pad was the perfect match for autumn colours - and it's got a bit of purple too, yum!

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Nature's treasures II, Paradise hummingbird, Background Builders Lattice
Inks: Kaleidacolor, creole spice; SU, chocoalte chip

You're going to have fun with this theme - really excited to see what you all come up with. The rest of the DT also have cards to share and inspire you - check them out here.

Thanks for looking today, always a pleasure to have you stop by.  And keep crafting!

CAS Colours & Sketches #191

A new colour challenge starts today at CAS Colours & Sketches and it's another fab trio selected by Karen.

Here's how I put them together:

I started by stamping the block of script and the sentiment.  I then stamped the butterfly onto a piece of scrap card and some vellum. I hand cut them both and adhered them on top of the script.

I thought about adding some enamel dots, but in the end decided not to muddy the colours with a near match and left my card very simple.

Supplies:
Stamps: HLS, Butterfly Birthday, Thinking Of You
Inks: SU, bermuda bay, delightful dijon, cucmber crush

The rest of the CC&S DT have been busy making cards to help kickstart your creativity, go see them here.

Thanks for spending some time looking at my blog today, you're so welcome here.  And keep crafting!
