Uniko - January Revisit Blog Hop

I'm so pleased you dropped by my blog today as I'm sharing cards I made for Uniko's January Revisit Blog Hop and there's a chance to win both the stamp set and matching dies if you comment along the hop by Friday 20th January.

So here's the fabulous sets that I've been talking about:

And here's my first card:

I started by die cutting a patterned paper panel and attaching it to white cardstock to form the background on which to display the large flower head from this stunning stamp set.

I used Kaleidacolor ink pads to produce the graduated colours on both the flower and leaves. I die cut the pieces before stamping, but discovered when making my third card it's easier to stamp and then die cut with this particular set.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Beautiful Blooms I & Simply Said
Inks: Kaleidacolor, Caribbean sea, berry bliss
Dies: Uniko, Beautiful Blooms I; MFT Die-namics, stitched basic edges
Embellishments: Wink of Stella

My next card uses the large flowerhead die combined with the smaller flower head stamp. Looks pretty cool I'm thinking!

I die cut an aperture from a scrap piece of white cardstock and then placed the base card and the aperture card into my misti tool and tamped the flower head and sentiment.

The aperture die cut was raised slightly with foam pads.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Beautiful Blooms I
Inks: SU, rose red; Memento, tuxedo black
Die: Uniko, Beautiful Blooms I

My final card today has a very golden and warm vibe and could be used for a 50th birthday or wedding anniversary.

I stamped the large flower head and then used the matching die to cut it out and matted it using pads onto a striped paper and then a gold paper. The sentiment is from Uniko's really useful Simply Said set.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Beautiful Blooms I & Simply Said
Inks: SU, dekightful dijon
Ppaer: Kaisercraft, A Touch of Gold

Well that's me done for today. I hope I've shown you the versatility of these gorgeous Uniko stamp and matching die sets. Of course there's loads more inspiration to be had by visiting the rest of the Uniko DT blogs, which you'll be doing anyway as you'll want to be in with a chance of winning the prize. So here's the hop list:

AAA Cards - #81 Hello

AAA Cards is back today with the first of its 2017 challenges and we've decided it's a great idea to kick off the year by saying hello!

http://aaacards.blogspot.com/2017/01/cas-game-81-hello.html

Time for one of my favourite techniques from last year to make its first appearance this year - inlaid dies.  I die cut and inlaid the word hello from some bold coloured patterned paper into a white card strip. I adhered this to a plain white card.

Then to emphasise the slight difference in heights this created I used a strip of washi tape in a similar pattern to the paper.

And finished off my card by stamping the numerals 2017.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Classic Numbers
Inks: SU, night of navy
Die: Lawn Fawn, Scripty Hello
Paper: Lawn Fawn, Beachside

The AAA Cards team and out Guest Designer Valentyna have a whole wealth of stunning ideas about ways to say hello - check them all out here.

Thanks for your time today, it's been fabulous having you visit my blog, you're welcome back any time!  And keep crafting!

Happy Little Stampers - January Christmas challenge

And just when you thought it was OK to pack away your Christmas stamps I'm here to encourage you to keep them all to hand.  Today sees the first 2017 Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge.

http://www.happylittlestampers.com/2017/01/hls-january-christmas-challenge.html

So why not make a card and get ahead for 2017? You'll see the theme is really easy peasy, but if you'd like to stretch your creativity a bit more then go with the optional twist of JOY.

I used the new HLS stamp set Christmas Joy as a starting point for my card. Once stamped I die cut a stitched panel and added it to some plaid paper - loving that purple paired up with blue and green.

Supplies:
Stamps: HLS, Christmas Joy
Inks: Mmento, grape jelly, tuxedo black
Paper: Paper Cellar, squares
Die: MFT Die-namics, stitched basic edges

Here's hoping I've persuaded you to go with it for Christmas 2017. Take a peek here to see how my team mates at HLS are trying to do the same.

So pleased you dropped by today, thanks so much for your time.  And keep crafting!

The Male Room - #

I'm slowly getting back into the routine of making cards for my DT commitments and I'm here today to tell you all about the first 2017 challenge at The Male Room. It's one you're going to love and should get us off to a romping galloping start to the year.

http://themaleroomchallengeblog.blogspot.com/2017/01/challenge-51-anything-goes.html

I chose to use my December Daily colours for my card - thought I'd better as my photo box is still set up with a sparkly aqua background.

I love the mix of lower and upper case letters in the sentiments of this HLS stamp set and the circles are just a no brainer to work with - I always feel satisfied and pleased with how they look.

Supplies:
Stamps: HLS, Mix Mash & Bold Birthday Sentiments
Inks: SU, chocolate chip, tempting turquoise; Memento, pear tart

So all you have to keep in mind for this tMR challenge is that your project needs to be suitable for a fella, then let your imagination run wild. Check out the rest of the DT creations here before you start though, they're all so fabulous!

Thanks so much for your time today, your visit to my blog is hugely appreciated.  And keep crafting!

Another first too as my card uses a new to me Stampin Up stamp set - so gorgeously smudgy and painty looking.

And yet another first - a new die set in my stash - going to be seeing a lot of this one in 2017 I'm thinking!

I'm so loving the font and angle of the sentiment stamp - perfection!

Supplies:
Stamps: SU, Blooms & Wishes
Inks: SU, pink pirouette, sweet sugarplum
Die: MFT Die-namics, stitched basic edges
Embellishments: SU, enamel dots, sweet sugarplum

Do you remember CC&S expanded its Design Team at the end of 2016? So now you get to see even more amazing cards to inspire you to play along. Go check them all out here.

Monday Moment

Happy New Year! And I hope 2017 will be a peaceful, happy and good year for you.

I'm kicking off the new year by celebrating success at Time Out - here - and sharing a card I'm entering into their current inspired by words challenge.

Here's the words:

'With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning'

And here's my card:

I started by masking off the bottom of the card and stamping the sunshine so that only the top half would be visible once the mask was removed.

I then overstamped the Visible Image quote using a Kaleidacolor ink pad - in my favourite pinks and purples of course! A trio of enamel dots and I was done.

Supplies:
Stamps: SU, Kinda Eclectic; Visible Image, Wake Up Awesome
Inks: SU, so saffron; Kaleidacolor, berry blaze
Embellishments: Doodlebug Sprinkles, love glitter asst.

Thanks so much for your time today, I'm so glad you dropped by my blog.  And keep crafting!
