The Memory Nest - Make It Monday #83

Here I am again with my scrapbooking hat on and I've a really fun page to share with you today on my blog and also over at The Memory Nest.

http://thememorynest.blogspot.com/2017/03/make-it-monday-no-83.html

He just needed to get as wet as possible by jumping in the puddles and I just needed to take photographs! I knew they would make it onto a scrapbook page. And it's one of my all time favourites.

I chose some blue papers becuase it seemed appropriate for a page about water - although to be honest the puddle was more of a dirty brown!

Then I found the 'check this out' sticker and that influenced my choice of a complementary colour.

Some leftover stickers from the Disney themed Say Cheese collection fitted so perfectly with the joy and fun of this page. I finished the page off with some splatter stamping to help the flow from top to bottom.

Supplies:
Papers: AC, Oh Happy Life
Alpha: Lawn Fawn, Louie's ABCs
Stamps: SU, Touches of Texture, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Memento, pear tart; SU, night of navy
Punch: Martha Stewart, heart
Stickers AC, Remarks; Simple Stories, Say Cheese II
Embellishments: Doodlebug Sprinkles, blue jean asst.

If you pop over to The Memory Nest blog - here - you'll find lots more incredible ideas using this week's sketch. Hope you're inspired to join in and make a page or card of your own.

Thanks for your time today, I really appreciate your visit to my blog.  And keep crafting!

AAA Cards #85 - Oscar Red Carpet

Oooh such an amazing theme for AAA Cards new CAS challenge that starts today - Oscar Red Carpet.

http://aaacards.blogspot.com/2017/03/cas-game-85-oscar-red-carpet.html

All you need to do is find a red carpet outfit that you love - so easy there are so many totally gorgeous ones - and then create a CAS (clean and simple) card to show how it inspired you. The outfit can be male or female and from any year.

Here's my pick:

This dress would be so me, if I was famous that is, with all those purples and pinks. It looks totally stunning. And with all that wafting delicate chiffon fabric I knew it just had to be butterfly.

I chose the colours I could see in the dress, loving those little hints of yellow, and kept the body of the butterfly nice and dark to reflect the bodice of the dress.

A flourishy font sentiment and a trio of gems around it just about completed my card. But when I stood back and looked I couldn't resist adding a gem to each of the antennae too!

Supplies:
Stamps: HLS, Butterfly Birthday, Thinking of You
Inks: SU, elegant eggplant
Promarkers: lilac, cool grey 1, 4 & 5, mustard, antique pink
Embellishments: Mei Flower gems

I'm really excited about this theme and so looking forward to seeing how you're inspired and drooling over all those lovely outfits with you.  The rest of the AAA Cards DT have also made cards to help you on your way - here - and we have both Kylie from HLS, our sponsor, and Hazel from hazelspaperdesigns joining us for this challenge.

Thanks for dropping by today, your time is greatly appreciated.  And keep crafting!

Happy Little Stampers - March Christmas Challenge

How is your stash of Christmas cards growing? Well today sees a new Christmas Challenge starting at Happy Little Stampers and an opportunity for you to increase your stock.

http://www.happylittlestampers.com/

The optional twist is STAR and I decided I liked that idea and promptly die cut a couple of stars from glitter and shiny cardstock.

I added a strip of sparkly washi tape and a narrow strip of glitter card almost the whole width of the card and placed my stars on top.

I then stamped the greeting and a couple of tiny stars to make that trio of elements with the diecuts that I so love putting round sentiments.

Supplies:
Stamps: HLS, Christmas Joy
Ink: Mmento, tuxedo black
Die: Xcut, star
Embellishments: Glitter card and washi from my stash

All the other HLS DT have also been busy making cards to inspire and encourage you to join in the fun. Why not go take a look - here.

Thanks for visiting my blog today, I'm so pleased you found the time,  And keep crafting!

Uniko Sponsors Time Out 3rd Birthday Challenge

So having gate crashed the party once why not do it again! Time Out Challenge is 3 years old and Uniko is sponsoring their birthday challenge.

Here's my card using Uniko stamps made with Time Out's theme in mind:

Love/Friendship with the optional twist of spotlight stamping.

No twist for me, but my immediate thought about friends was how good it is to have a natter and put the world to right over a coffee. As you know I love purple so that went into the mix along with a tiny heart to decorate that coffee container.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, I Love Coffee & heart from I Love Tea
Inks: Memento, grape jelly; SU, smoky slate
Embellishments: Washi from my stash

Huge congratulations go to Sandie and Nonni for hosting such a successful and inspiring challenge blog. Here's to your next three or more years at Time Out!

Thanks for looking today, I really appreciate the time it takes to visit my blog.  And keep crafting!

HLS Sponsors Time Out 3rd Birthday Challenge

It's birthday time at Time Out Challenges and Happy Little Stampers is one of their sponsors for this happy occasion. So as one of the HLS DT I'm gate crashing the party - well I was invited really but it doesn't sound as dramatic - and have made a card to show my love and support to Sandie and Nonni.

The theme is Love/Friendship with the optional twist of using spotlight stamping. Here's my card using HLS stamps.

I used my current favourite acrylic block technique to add watercolours to the background and I've sort of used the twist by adding more intense colour to parts of the butterfly's wings

Supplies:
Stamps: HLS Butterfly Birthday
Inks: Ranger distress, picked raspberry, wilted violet

Thanks so much for looking today and I wish you the best of luck with maybe winning one of the prizes on offer at Time Out.  So remember to keep crafting!

Wednesday Words

What do you do when you've got a bit of time on your hands? Read, go for a walk or craft? Well I have been known to do all three, but today it was crafting that grabbed me! And I made a card for Addicted to CAS and their WOOD theme.

http://addictedtocas.blogspot.co.uk/2017/02/challenge-105-wood.html

Must have been fate because the wooden word 'love' fell off a shelf in my craft room the other day and I left it out on my desk as I couldn't remember where it came from. And now it's on my card.

I started by stamping the wooden panel at the bottom of my card and then die cut the stitched top panel.

I've kept it all very CAS and just popped a heart next to the 'love' word and stepped away before I could add any more.

Supplies:
Stamp: SU, Hardwood
Ink: SU baked brown suagar
Wooden love and heart from my stash

Huge thanks for coming to visit my blog today, I'm so very blessed to have had your company.

And keep crafting!

The Male Room #55 Steampunk

The Male Room starts a new challenge today and its theme is STEAMPUNK.

http://themaleroomchallengeblog.blogspot.com/2017/03/challenge-55-theme.html

Well I can't tell you how much this is so outside of my comfort zone, but a little research on pinterest and I settled down with trepidation to try to make a card. And you know what - I really enjoyed it!

So starting with a watercoloured smooshed background was no big step for me, but adding layers of stamping, washi, die cuts and metal embellishments was fun - no holding back or hints of my usual CAS style there then!

Supplies:
Stamps: Visible Image, Music Speaks; Uniko, Decorative Doilies
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black; Ranger distress, black soot, mowed lawn, salty ocean, peacock feathers, mustard seed
Stencils: TCW, mini stitched art, mini chicken wire reversed, mini grow page
Die: Spellbinders, sprightly sprockets
Embellishments: washi & metal elements from my stash

Go have some fun yourself and give those cogs and wheels and steampunk colours a whirl. So looking forward to seeing how you embrace this theme. The rest of tMR DT have fabulous inspiration for you - here.

Mega thrilled to have had you drop by my blog today, thanks so much. And keep crafting!
