Tuesday Talk

Today I'm sharing a simple little card made with a couple of challenges in mind. The sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch and the flower theme from Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge seemed too good a match to resist.

http://casethissketch.blogspot.co.uk/2017/08/case-this-sketch-323.html    http://www.happylittlestampers.com/2017/08/hls-august-cas-challenge.html

Here's my card:

I used an MFT die to die cut the curved element from the sketch and then stamped the Uniko flower and sentiment.  I used my prismacolor pencils to add colour to the flower, stem and leaves and quite like the almost textured effect they give.

Still preferring the alcohol markers smoothness though and am currently learning about copics with an onlinecardclass workshop. I've ordered a few pens to experiment with as my trusty promarkers are beginning to dry up and I want to make an informed choice between the two. I'd be interested to hear your opinions.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Flower Power #3, sentiment from the retired A Gift For You
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black
Die: MFT Die-namics, stitched basic edges
Clours: Prismacolor, mulberry, process red, chartreuse, lime peel

Thanks for visiting today, really pleased to share some of your time.  And keep crafting!

Monday Moments

Today I'm sharing a card I created using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and the cue word from CASology.

http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.co.uk/2017/08/freshly-made-sketches-299-sketch-by-kim.html  http://casology.blogspot.co.uk/2017/08/week-260-juicy.html

Here's my card:

I used some lovely juicy colours and stamped the vertical elements from the sketch, masking off some of the card to produce the smaller strips.

I stamped the sentiment and then decided to add a red juicy apple to draw the eye in. Quick and simple just the way I like it to be!

Supplies:
Stamps: Clearly Besotted, An Apple A Day, Colour Chameleon
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black; SU, real red, pumpkin pie, daffodil delight, lemon lime twist

Huge thanks for visiting my blog today, super to have your company.  And keep crafting!

AAA Cards Challenge #96 - Summer Fun

The new challenge at AAA Cards is all about the fun we try to have in the Summer. Now this could be down on the beach, Summery foods, out in the garden or any other Summer pastime that you consider to be fun.

http://aaacards.blogspot.com/2017/08/cas-game-96-summer-fun.html

Looking through my stamps I came across this one of a flying kite and it took me back to many times when my boys were young and we tried with varying amounts of success to get a kite up in the air. so that was my starting point.

And then I looked out of the window and the colours of the evening sky really caught my eye. So I made a rectangular mask using a die and sponged on some distress inks trying to simulatewhat I'd seen.

The stamp was added on top and a simple sentiment to echo the fun was chosen. I finished off with a tiny heart.

Supplies:
Stamps: SU, Happy Home
Inks: Verasmark, clear; Ranger distress, picked raspberry, mustard seed, spiced marmalade, blueprint sketch, cracked pistachio; Memento, tuxedo black
Embossing: Ranger Superfine, black
Embellishment: SU, enamel heart emerald envy

Over at the AAA Cards blog we've lots of summery inspiration for you to enjoy. Ishani is our Guest Designer for this challenge and, along with the AAA Cards DT, she has done an amazing job. And DT Maaike has a video of her process on her blog too.

Thanks for looking today, it's been fabulous to see you here at my blog.  And keep crafting!

Happy Little Stampers - August Christmas Challenge

Come on now time to crank up a Christmas gear and get creating, only four months left! So why not join in with Happy Little Stampers new Christmas card challenge that's starting today?

http://www.happylittlestampers.com/

And the optional twist is such a traditional element of Christmas I had to go with it. Also poinsettias are best on cards in my house - the real thing never seems to survive!

I used a stamp that has been lurking at the bottom of my Christmas stash and never been used before, definitley time to give it some love. I added a couple of strips of red card and then outlined them and the poinsettia with a grey promarker pen. Think that's why my photos have a bit of a blurry effect going on.

I coloured the flower centre in green and then added some tiny black gems too.

Supplies:
Stamps: Penny Black, Wonder Collection; HLS, Mixed Christmas Sentiments
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black
Promarkers: poppy, crimson, cool grey 1, meadow green
Embellishments: MeiFlower, black gems

Hop on over to Happy Little Stampers to get your mind blown away by the creativity of the rest of the DT - HERE. Then get those Christmas supplies out and get some cards into your 2017 stash!

So pleased you came by my blog today, please come back again soon as I love having you visit. And keep crafting!

Uniko Challenge #42 Reminder

I'm here today with a little reminder about the challenge going on at Uniko. It's a super easy theme - FLOWERS - and I'm thinking most of us have a few flower stamps in our stash.

For my sample card I used the pretty daisylike stamp from Flower Power #7 and spiced it up with one of the stamps from Backgound Builders Round in Circles. This design was actually inspired by some new slippers I bought.

Here's a little pic of those slippers - loving my pink toenails too!

The sentiment comes from another Uniko set - Originally Organic. Aren't I always saying Uniko stamps are so versatile and mix and match beautifully?

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Flower Power #7, Background Builder Round In Circles, Originally Organic
Inks: SU, melon mambo; Memento, pear tart, tuxedo black
Embellishments: Nuvo drops, English mustard

There's lots more inspiration to be had over at Uniko where the cards of our Guest Designers, Cornelia and Elaine and the rest of the DT can be found. Check it all out HERE.

Thanks for your visit today, it's been fabulous to have your company. And keep crafting!

Thursday Thoughts

A quick little card inspired by the photo from Inkspirational is my share for today.

http://inkspirationalchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2017/07/challenge-140-photo.html

Here it is:

I stamped three turquoise and one grey strip of squares, die cut a sentiment tag and popped on a hand cut bear. Simples!!!

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Background Builders Squared, Sweet Baby, Simply Said Birthday
Inks: SU, bermuda bay, smoky slate; Memento, tuxedo black
Die: Clearly Besotted, Tag Along

And a few pics of the village show from the weekend. And boy did we need those wellies, turned out to be a bit of a mud fest to rival Glastonbury!

But it was fun!

And these are two of my favourite stalls - possibly something to do with the rows of prettily coloured items.

Well that's all for today, thanks so much for dropping by.  And keep crafting!

Stuck?! Sketches Guest Designer

YAY! Here I am today joining Stuck?! Sketches as a Guest Designer.  How exciting is that? And more than exciting really as it's a scrapbook challenge and I am thrilled to be asked.

And here's the wonderful sketch that I've had the pleasure of using.

http://stucksketches.blogspot.co.uk/

And here's how I used it. Loving how easy it was to achieve an overall CAS look.

Well I knew these moments had to be scrapped and I can't begin to tell you the absolute joy looking at these photos brings to me. Scissors - never knew they could be the source of such enjoyment, concentration and sparkling eye pleasure.

I started my page by placing all the paper elements and photos, sticking them together and then removing them from the backing paper so that I could add some smudges of distress ink. That done the strips were stuck down and then the smaller embellishments were added.

I used cogs instead of flowers - thought I could see his brain cogs turning - and stamped some little heart clusters as he's definitely got my heart!

Supplies:
Papers: Lawn Fawn, Beachside 6x6;  scraps from my stash
IStamps: Uniko, hearts from Balloon Bash
Inks: Ranger distress oxide, faded jeans, spiced marmalade
Die: Spellbinders, Sprightly Sprockets
Embellishments: Simple Stories, enamel dots; sequins & twine from my stash

I'm so pleased you had time to visit my blog today and I really hope you'll join in with this challenge at Stuck?! Sketches. Do go check out how their DT have used this sketch - HERE.

And keep crafting!
