Thursday Thoughts

Today I'm sharing an ATC I created using mixed media. It's going into the challenge at Mix It Up.

SPREAD THE MIXED UP LOVE - grab a badge

Anything Goes + optional twist of Inked Background
(sprays, spritzes, inks, etc.)

My card uses the optional twist of an inked background plus some stencils, heat embossing and foiling.

I actually started this card by stamping and heat embossing the image and then got to work with the background inking. I splashed some water onto the oxide inks to create interest and then used a slightly damp tissue to wipe off the excess ink from the image and give it back its sheen and shine.

I used a stencil to add some more to the background and also inked all round the edge too. I finished off with my new favourite technique - Versamark ink  through a stencil, sticky embossing powder and deco foil rubbed on the melted sticky embossing powder. Just delicious!

Oh and I mustn't forget the words - trimmed down from a Tim Holtz booklet.

Supplies:
Stamps: Visible Image, Tomorrow Doesn't Exist
Inks: Versamark clear + Ranger Superfine black embossing powder; Ranger sticky embossing powder + decofoil rose gold; Ranger distress oxide, black soot, peacock feathers, twisted citron, ocean blue
Stencil: TCW, Mini specimens
Word stickers: Tim Holtz Idea-ology, Small Talk

Thanks so much for your time today, it's been fun having you visit.

And keep crafting!

Wednesday Words

Today I'm sharing a scrapbook page I created using a grid sort of layout.  I'm going to enter it into the challenge at Love To Craft where there is an Anything Goes theme at the moment.

SPREAD THE CRAFTY LOVE - grab a badge!

Here's my page:

I chose my photos and sized them carefully as I knew I wanted to use a grid and needed them to line up easily. Once they were all placed on the background paper I cut a couple of pieces of designer paper to fill the two gaps.

I then used nearly a whole sheet of transparent stickers straight on top of the papers and photos.

The bottom designer paper became my journalling spot.

I finished off the page by ruling lines between each element to emphasise the grid.

Supplies:
Alphas: Simply Creative chipboard; Simple stories, I Heart Summer
Stickers: PL freebie

Thanks so much for looking today. It's been fabulous to have you visit my blog.

And keep crafting!

Tuesday Talk

I'm playing along with CAS(E) this sketch today and using those gorgeous new release Visible Image stamps and a stencil that I just couldn't resist - didn't actually try that hard!

Here's my card:

The stencil inking happened first and then I stamped and inked the flower in the same colours but in reverse. I then hand cut the flower and popped it up on foam pads.

I matted it onto black before adhering to a white card base. I finished off by stamping a simple greeting.

Supplies:
Stamps: Visible Image, Random Act of Kindess; Uniko sentiment from a discontinued set
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne; Versamark clear + Ranger superfine black embossing powder; Ranger distress oxides, picked raspberry, wilted violet, peacock feathers
Stencil: Visible Image, Atomic Flower

It's been so much fun having you visit today, thanks so much for your time.

And keep crafting!

AAA Cards #135 - One Plus Three + Friends

Today I'm here to tell you about the new challenge at AAA Cards

You know how tic tac toe boards work, well AAA Cards has come up with a new variation of this - One Plus Three.

All cards need a sentiment so that's the one taken care of. Then pick three more elements from the pie chart for your card - only three and you can only use each one once!

I've a couple of cards to share with you, both use stamps from our sponsor Pink & Main. They're offering a $20 store credit to one lucky winner - got to be worth a try for!

My first card has a sentiment + a stamped image, an inked stencil pattern and a trio of small embellishments.

I started by completing all the stamping. I then masked the image and placed a stencil over and inked up a bubbly water like pattern. Once the stencil was lifted I added three clear dots - am thinking they look like water drops.

Supplies:
Stamps: Pink & Main, Rain or Shine
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne; Ranger distress, mermaid lagoon
Stencil: TCW, Mini Mod Spirals

My second card uses a sentiment + a stamped image, colouring pens and a die cut. It also includes the twist of Friends

I simply stamped the image onto a die cut circle and then used Copic pens to colour. The sentiment was stamped next to the die cut.

Supplies:
Stamps: Pink & Main, Rain or Shine, Sunny Hello
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Die: MFT Die-namics, double stitcched circles
Pens: Copic, C0, C1, C3, YG17, V12, V15, V17

If you'd like to see some more examples of how the One Plus Three works then go see the AAA Cards DT creations HERE. And while you're there check out the lovely card made by our Guest Designer Janet (aka Swanlady).

Thanks so much for looking today, it's always fun to have your company.

Happy Little Stampers March CAS Challenge

Already it's March! How quickly this year is flying!

Time for a new CAS Challenge at Happy Little Stampers then!

This theme fitted perfectly with my need to create a wedding anniversary card for one of my sons, so that's what I went with.

I used the clustered hearts die from STAMPlorations and a scrap of pink card left over from the wedding invitations I made for them. Once the hearts were adhered I nestled the stamped greeting around one end.

Supplies:
Stamps: Clearly Besotted, Mr & Mrs
Die: CUTplorations, Clustered Hearts
Ink: Versafine Clair, nocturne

So what's your idea of a special day? Go check out what the rest of the HLS CAS crew have come up with HERE and then once you're totally inspired get creating and linking up to the challenge!

Thanks for looking today, I really appreciate you taking the time.

Friday Focus

I'm sharing a card today that I created to enter the 5th Birthday Challenges at Winnie & Walter.

Layering Die Cuts Challenge with Jessica

Here's my card:

I'm trying to enter as many of the Winnie & Walter challenges as I can with my limited supply of their goodies - postage and import taxes are so expensive to the UK! That's why it's so good to have access to their freebie downloads and it's another one of these that I've used for my background today.

I die cut the happy from the download and stacked it up on top of four layers of dark grey card. Here's a close up to show the depth -  resembles a chipboard die cut I'm thinking.

I finished the card by stamping the birthday and matting it onto a grey card base.

Supplies:
Stamps: a discontinued Uniko stamp
Die: Winnie & Walter In A Word: Happy
Background: Winnie & Walter download freebie

It's been great to have your company today, thanks so much for looking.

And keep crafting!
