Thursday Thoughts

Mmmm! It's a mixed media challenge for me today - and this is a challenge for me when I'm creating cards!

I think it was the 'must use a stencil' that got me hooked and wanting to give it a go. So thanks ARTplorations for inspiring me to try. But somehow my card still turned out to be CAS!

I started by inking up a strip at the bottom and then used the ghosting technique with a stencil and baby wipe. I then turned the stencil and went back over it with the same colours of ink. on top of this I stamped the daisy row.

I then drew a pen line along the top edge of the inking and added a die cut sentiment strip. the dot on the 'i' was just too fiddly to glue on so I used a black gem instead.

I'm thinking this qualifies as mixed media as I used inking, a stencil, stamping, a hand drawn line, a die cut and a gemstone.

Stamps: STAMPlorations, Daisy Row
Inks: Ranger distress oxide, twisted citron, salty ocean, peacock feathers; Versafine Clair, nocturne
Stencil: ARTplorations, Shutters
Die: Lawn Fawn, Happy Birthday Border
Gem from my stash

It's been wonderful having your company today. Thanks so much for visiting.

And keep crafting!

  1. I love how your card turned out. I don't have this stamp but now I want to add it to my wish list. I love how the ghosted background looks. Thanks for sharing with STAMPlorations Mixed Media Challenge.

  2. Love your CAS card Jane and mixing the medias. This is what I enjoy doing too, keeping it CAS and enjoying playing with the medias and techniques. In my mind Mixed Media doesn't have to be full on....just mixing your medias x Such a glorious card, great design, lots to look at, wonderful techniques and colours x.
