Sunday Slot

A bit late today, but finally grabbed a few minutes to sit at the computer.

A bright and modern card today using the layout from Freshly Made Sketches and the colours from Colour Q.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko Studio, Jolly Christmas, All Occasion Sentiments #4, Background Builders Christmas
Inks: Memento, teal zeal, tuxedo black
Promarker: crimson
Dies: Spellbinders & Xcut
Trimmer: Woodware scallop blade
Embellishments: twine & Stickles star dust

Advent calendar task 8: Play a game - that will probably happen after dinner this evening.

Journal Your Christmas day 7: A double page about the sensory overload experienced on my recent shopping trip to Nottingham.  The extended writing tucks inside the pocket I made by sewing the journalling card to the background paper. Also saved the train tickets which actually cost less this year now I have my Senior Citizen pass!

Thanks for dropping by today and sending Christmas sparkles to you.

Saturday Scribbles

How's your house looking? Mine is beginning to look a lot like Christmas. The conservatory tree - a real one - has now been bought and decorated and I've plans today to put up the lounge tree, decorate the fire place and light up the outside.

Here we are choosing the tree.

Then we spotted the reindeer, so cute!

But on to today's card. Well not actually a card, but a store card gift wallet.  I wanted to enter the 10 minute dash at Pretty Pink Posh and thought I could manage a wallet as they're quite small - not too much to decorate. So I got all my materials on the desk and got going at a steady pace and just about managed to do it in 10 minutes, 9:58 to be exact.

As the colours are the same I'm entering it for CAS Colours & Sketches too.

Friday Focus

Last night Boston ( here in the UK) was flooded by a tidal surge. The photos look devastating - my thoughts go out to anyone affected by this.

My card today is for CASology and the theme was RIBBON.  This is a CAS challenge so I quickly put together a little thank you card.

Supplies:
Stamp: Uniko Studio, All Occasion Sentiments #3
Ink: Memento, nautical blue

Advent calendar task 6: Decorate the tree - best get out and buy it then!

Journal Your Christmas day 5 - not quite finished, will post it tomorrow.

Thanks for dropping by today.

Thursday Thoughts

The forecast today is for high winds and already the trees are blowing quite a bit. Would be a good day to stay in and craft, but as always seems to be the case, I have to go out today to take my aunt for an appointment which means going to Boston which is getting a bit close to the East Coast where the worst of the storms are expected. I'm expecting my little car to get battered a bit!

Today I'm sharing a digital scrapbook page for the challenge over at The Memory Nest.  I'm really getting into my digi pages and although it's not quite the same as actually handling paper it's certainly much quicker.  This is a bonus at the moment as I'm feeling pressed for time as my main crafting input through December has to be my Journal Your Christmas album. I'm thinking there may come a day when card making has to have a rest for a while.

Anyway here's my page using a photo sent over of my youngest grandson just after he'd decorated the tree. (The oldest grandson has his own tree in his bedroom, but is camera shy, so no photo.) He looks so pleased with himself and it brings back memories of  how my tree used to look when my three boys used to get involved. These days it's a much more dignified and grown up affair.

Supplies:
Digi papers & embellishments mainly from DHD Sara Schmutz Letters to Santa

And oops! Forgot about the office supplies.

Just need to proudly display this badge.

YAY! A top three winner at CAS Colours & Sketches and with a card I absolutely adore - like winning twice over! Thank you for picking my card.

Advent calendar task 4: Take a close up photo. So I thought I'd combine yesterday's present bought with today's photo task. I bought this present for the whole family, but know really I'm the one that's going to enjoy it the most.  Have I mentioned I love chocolate?

Journal Your Christmas Page 4: A double page spread.

Wednesday Words

My dad's birthday today, so we're off out for lunch at one of his favourite places - they do a good basic pensioner's meal at a great price and he just prefers it to all the more fancier menus in other places.

My card today is the main cause of all the sparkle on my craft desk and phone.  Less is More wanted sparkle and that's what I got!  I used the layout from Sketch Saturday as it lent itself really well to a CAS card.

I started with a piece of navy pearlescent card, so slightly sparkly. The stars were cut from sparkle card on my cuttlebug and I offset the little ones at either end as I knew I'd never get them lined up - my cheats way to make it work, anything to make things easier  I say.  I used thin double sided tape to adhere the glitter lines and then was stuck for the sentiment. Many experiments failed with stamping and embossing on dark card - how do you get stamping to show up on dark card? So I reverted back to my very beginnings with card making and shock, horror, used a peel off!

Supplies:
Die: Xcut
Sparkle: Sparkle card & Glamour Dust

I'm delighted to have been picked as worthy of a mention at these two challenges: Casology & Craft Dash. This still gives me a flip of excitement.  Big big thank yous!!

Tuesday Talk

A trio of birthday cards to share today and not a sign of glitter or Christmas anywhere - unless you count the glitter all over my phone from when I put it down for a nano second on my craft table!

I made this first card for a relative's birthday using this week's CAS-Colours & Sketches layout.  I liked it so much I made two more in different colourways.  It also had the added bonus of being super quick and easy and suitable for men. I can see I'll be repeating this format in the future.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko Studio, All Occasion Sentiments #2, Flower Power #2
Inks: Memento, Card 1, cantaloupe, bahama blue, tangelo, rich cocoa; Card 2, rhubarb stalk, rose bud, angel pink; Card 3, teal zeal, sweet plum, espresso truffle
Papers: Paper Cellar, squares

Advent calendar task 3: Buy something frivolous.  So here it is, seems the Co-op is not only gud with fud. ( Sorry if you're not in the UK, it's connected to an advert)

Journal Your Christmas, page 1 & 2 completed, about to have fun making page 3 now!

Thanks for dropping by today.

Sunday Slot

So it's begun - that magical time of year when Christmas is on everyone's mind.  This year I will be making an album for December following Shimelle's prompts on her Journal Your Christmas workshop.  This will be the third year I've made an album and I'm waiting now for the first email prompt to come through so I can get started. Don't you just love Christmas!

Today's card, of course, had to be a Christmas one and the colours from Color Throwdown are so icy and sophisticated who could resist? When I was shoppoing last week in nottingham I saw a tag card that spoke to me and I've based my layout on that card.  I used silver mirri card to try to get some of that pure icy silvery feel and have added glitter to the star and holly berries - which doesn't really show on the photo.

Supplies:
Stamps: Clearly Besotted, Modern Christmas & Holiday Sentimants
Inks: Memento, pistachio, bamboo leaves, London fog; Ranger distress ink, bundled sage round the edges
Embellishments: Stickles, Star Dust

Advent Calendar task 1: Eat chocolate - might as well start the season as I mean to go on!

Thanks for dropping by today.
