Uniko February Release Day & Blog Hop

YAY! The day has arrived and you get to see the entire Uniko February Release in all its amazing beauty!

Here they are then - 6 stamps sets:

And 5 stencils:

For my first sample today I used a sheet of graph paper to stamp the beautiful Spring Botanical Daffodil.  This idea was inspired by Keren and it makes for an unusual but eye pleasing background to stamps.

I picked up on the graph paper colours for my card base and simply die cut a stitched rectangle and then matted it onto the same colour.  I cut round the shape of the greeting - seems to be a bit of theme with me and this release.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Spring Botanicals: Daffodil & sentiment from Spring Botanicals: Snowdrop
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black
Die: Lil'inker, stitched mats rectangles
Paper: Standard graph paper

My next card uses two of the new stamp sets and a simple classic colour combination.

Such an easy card to create with the Background Blocks Party Confetti peeping through a die cut heart and the the greeting and music notes stamped underneath.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Background Blocks Party Confetti, Life Is A Song
Ink: SU, real red
Die: Laen Fawn Outside In stitched heart stackable

My final share for today sees me slipping back into my favourite colours and combines the new Equaliser stencil with a couple of older Uniko stamps.

I squidged white embossing paste through the Equaliser stencil and while I let that dry out I stamped and heat embossed the beautiful chrysanthemum stamp onto some patterned paper and used its matching die to cut it out.

Once the paste was dry I stamped and heat embossed the greeting and then popped the chrysanthemun onto pads slightly overlapping the equaliser bars.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum, All Occasion Sentiments #1
Inks: Veramark clear + Ranger superfine black embossing powder
Die: Uniko, Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum
Stencil: Uniko, Equaliser
Embossing: Dreamweaver white paste
Paper: First Edition, Wild Flower

Ok so that's me done with all my makes for the new release. Now it's time for you to go on hopping round the rest of the Uniko DT blogs and try to win the entire release by leaving comments as you go.

Here's the hop order:

Thanks for visiting today, it's been fabulous having your company. I wish you all good luck with the hopping!

And remember to keep crafting!

Tuesday Talk

I'm back again today with my second atc for Janis's 60th birthday party. The theme for week 2 was 'And The Chickens'

Here's my atc:

For this card I've gone CAS with a bit of fun! I stamped the chickens onto a scrap of polka dot paper and then added a little colour to their wings, beaks and tails. I really liked the look of these fun chicks and was going to call it a day, but then I couldn't resist adding a tiny googly eye to each one!

Supplies:
Stamps: STAMPlorations, Fowl Play
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black
Pen: Promarker, cool aqua
Embellishments: Googly eyes from my stash

Hope you love these fun chicks as much as me! Thanks for visiting today, I really appreciate your time. And keep crafting!

Uniko February Release - Introducing Kindness Blooms & Fun Flowers Stencil

Today sees the last introduction to Uniko's February release and I'm delighted to share some cards with you.

I've concentrated today on the Kindness Blooms stamp set and have left the stencil to the experts on the Uniko stencil team.  Here's my first card:

It's been a while since I've done any paper piecing so I decided it was time to get out some of those numerous scraps of paper and card I hoard and whizz up this fun card.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Kindness Blooms
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Papers: scraps from my stash
Embellishments: Bling Bling black gems

My next card uses the same sort of colours, but this time I stamped straight onto the base card and then added a hint of colours to some of the petals.

The little dots and flower middles are from the same stamps set and I used them to give some movement across the card.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Kindness Blooms
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black; SU, powder pink, berry burst
Pens: Copic, R32, R35

My last card is a complete change of gear and colours. I prepared a watercoloured background using distress inks and then stamped the flowers on top with the same blue ink.

I then applied watered down bleach to some of the petal segments - gives a fabulous effect, but it's quite noxious and not a technique I'd want to use that often.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Kindness Blooms & Birthday Sentiments
Inks: Ranger distress, mermaid lagoon, cracked pistachio; Versamark clear + Ranger superfine white embossing powder
Die: MFT Die-namics, basic stitched edges

Now off you go and take a look at what the rest of the Uniko DT have to share with you today.  All the links are HERE. And I expect by now that you're getting an idea of what you'd like to see in your shopping basket tomorrow - soon be time! I hope you've been playing along with all Bev's 6th birthday and release fun ways to win and tomorrow they'll be prizes too!

Thanks for visiting today and I'll see you in the morning. Going to be busy!

And keep crafting!

Monday Moments

Today I'm sharing an atc card made for 'Janis is turning 60 birthday party.' You may already have spotted her badge on my sidebar.

Well I'm a bit late to this party only just having discovered it through The Happy Little Stampers ATC Challenge, but as I love creating atcs I thought I'd join in anyway!

Week 1's theme is - All Those Cats and here's my atc:

I started by stamping the script background and then the cat on top. I coloured the cat and flowers using my copic pens. I then stamped the greeting, the background circles and the stitched lines. The whole thing was finished off by inking the edges in black soot distress ink.

Supplies:
Stamps: Penny Black, Purrfect Day; Precious Remembrance Shop, New Day & Positive Thoughts; HLS, Thinking of You (retired)
Inks: Mememnto, tuxedo black; Ranger distress, black soot; SU, melon mambo, lemon lime twist
Pens: Copic, RV 02, RV04, RV09, RV63, RV66, C1, C5, YG13, YG17

Thanks so much for looking today, it's been wonderful to have some company on this chilly snowy UK day!

And keep crafting!

Uniko February Release - Introducing Life is a Song, Background Blocks Equaliser & Equaliser Stencil

Pop on some music and relax and enjoy the fourth day of introductions to the Uniko February release. And yes there's definitely a music vibe going on today!

So today there are two stamp sets and one stencil to get you into the groove.  And my first card is so essentially a me sort of CAS one layer type of thing using both the stamps sets.

I chose a classically simple colour scheme and rocked out these sets. And of course the total simpicity of this card makes my CAS heart sing!

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Life Is A song, Background Blocks Equaliser
Ink: SU, cherry cobbler, smoky slate; Memento, tuxedo black

My next card also use both stamp sets and is still fairly CAS. I chose a dark green cardstock and stamped and heat embossed the equaliser bars in black before adding colour using prisma color pencils. Love how the pencils add vibrant colour even on dark coloured cardstock.

I stamped part of the greeting onto a fishtail strip and the the 'music' word was heat embossed in black straight onto the green cardstock.  I finished off with a trio of music notes to fine tune my card.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Life Is A Song, Background Blocks Equaliser
Inks: Versamark clear + Ranger Superfine black embossing powedr; Versafine, onyx black
Die: MFT Die-namics, stitched fishtail flag stax
Colours: Prisma Color

My final card uses Life is a Song stamps and the Equaliser stencil.

I started by stamping and heat embossing the greeting and then I blended distress ink over the top.  Next I stamped the musical notation using the same distress ink colours and then die cut it into a stitched circle.

As the greeting mentioned the heart I decided to add an inlaid die cut heart and used the equaliser stencil and the same distress inks to cover it.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Life is a Song
Inks: Versamark cler + Rnager superfine white embossing powder; Ranger ditress, wilted violet, picked raspberry, shaded lilac
Stencil: Uniko, Equaliser
Die: Lawn Fawn, Outside In stitched heart stackable; MFT Die-namics, double stitched circles

Only one more day of introductions left and then it will be time for the complete reveal of all the fabulous Uniko February new release. So exciting!  Have you started writing your shopping list yet? I know you're going to totally fall in love with all the release once it's been completely revealed!

Huge thanks for dropping by today. Do come back for more peeps tomorrow.

And keep crafting!

Uniko February Release - Introducing Seeing Stars Stencil & Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum Stencil

Today's Uniko new release introduction is to two new stencils and I'm gate crashing the Stencil DT's gig and joining in with some sample cards to share.

My first card uses the Pure Florals Chrysanthemum stencil in a way that has nothing to do with flowers. This came about as a bit of an accident as I was trying out a colour with the stencil on a scrap of paper and I had a light bulb moment.

I used circle masks under the stencil and inked up in two shades of purple. I added a sentiment strip and heat embossed the greeting from Birthday Sentiments in white.

Supplies:
Stencil: Uniko, Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum
Stamps: Uniko, Birthday Sentiments
Ink: Ranger distress, chipped sapphire & dusty concord; Versafine clear + WOW! Sparkling Snow embossing powder

My next card uses the Seeing Stars stencil which co-ordinates nicely with two Uniko stamp sets - Background Builders Seeing Stars & Reach For The Stars. I inked the stars in the same two distress colours as my first card and then overstamped them in the same colours.

A genrous helping of Wink of Stella added a bit of glitz and shimmer to the stars.

Supplies:
Stencil: Uniko, Seeing Stars
Stamps: Uniko, Background Builders Seeing Stars & Reach For The Stars
Inks: Ranger distress, chipped sapphire, dusty concord
Die: MFT Die-nmics, stitched basic edges
Wink of Stella, clear

Keeping with the purple shades my final card also uses the Seeing Stars stencil.

This time I used distress oxide inks and added in a little clash with some green. I die cut the starry panel and added a greeting from Birthday Sentiments.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Birthday Sentiments
Stencil: uniko, Seeing Stars
Inks: Ranger distress oxide, twisted citron, wilted violet; Memento, tuxedo black; Versafine clear + WOW sparkling snow embossing powder
Dies: Lil'inker, stitched mats long & skinny rectangles; Lawn fawn, Large stitched circle stackables

How is your wish list going? Well I can only warn you it's going to get even longer tomorrow! So be sure to come back and take a peek at the next introduction which has a bit of a musical theme.

Thanks for your time today, it's been great having your company.

And keep crafting!
