White with 1 - March Challenge

It's time for a new challenge at White with 1 and this month extra colour is pink.

Image may contain: possible text that says 'FAIRY FLOSS'   No photo description available.

Well pink just had to be a granddaughter page!

The photo was taken on her birthday just before Christmas and she adored all the sparkly lights and baubles - especially the pink ones!

I've used lots of flowers to pick up on the roses, the title position to reflect the straw, and fluffy pink stencilling for the candyfloss and milkshake.

The stencil is Geo Flowers from Funky Fossil and the papers are from Polkadoodles Butterfly Daisy.

Supplies:
Papers: Polkadoodles, Butterfly Daisy
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Geo Flowers
Ink: SU, pink pirouette
Punch: Woodware, leaf; Flowers unknown
Title: Pink Fresh Studio, Just a Little Lovely
Enamel dots: Echo Park, I'd rather be crafting instead
Stickers: Paperchase, puffy hearts; Elle's Studio, puffy hearts

Thanks so much for looking today, it's been fabulous to share some of your time.

And keep crafting!

White with 1 - February Challenge

I'm back again today with my DT scrapbook page for the new challenge at White with 1.

No photo description available.   No photo description available.

This month as well as the colour there is also a sketch to follow.

I created a border pattern using a stencil from Funky Fossil and blended two colours of ink to get the correct colour. I then added the white background, placed the photos and started adding the embellishment clusters.

I cut up some of the word stickers to make them fit and also chopped off some words to get the phrase I wanted. I used faux stitching on my layout, both die cut and hand drawn.

Supplies:
Papers: Graphic 45 Flutter Collection; SU, Feels Like Frost
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Crackle Background
Inks: SU, pacific point; Ranger distress, blueprint sketch
Dies: Lawn Fawn, Mr Louie's ABCs; Xcut, spiro circles; MFT Die-namics, double stitched rectangles
Embellishments: MME enamel dots, Necessities
Stickers: Simple Stories, Summer Vibes; Bella Blvd, Secrets of the Sea; Doodlebug Designs Inc, Dragons Tails; Tim Holtz Idea-ology, Small Talk; Elle's Studio, puffy hearts

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today. I hope to see your pages popping up in the white with 1 facebook group - HERE.   And more info about the challenge - HERE.

Thursday Thoughts

Today I'm sharing a scrapbook page I created using the sketch from Sketches in Thyme.

Here's my page:

I chose a dark blue background paper to pick up on the colour of her dress and then used the oranges and greens from the photo as the accent colours.

This bottom corner stack was built up from an initial single die cut circle and placement of the title. I had fun adding and extending it all down.

The top two embellishment stacks are mini versions of the bottom one,

Supplies:
Papers: Graphic 45, Floral Shoppe; Shimelle, Box of Crayons; scraps from my stash
Dies: Xcut, Spiro circles; Lawn Fawn stitched hearts
Alphas: Simple Stories, Bloom & Grow, You Are Here
Stickers: Simple Stories, Vintage Botanicals; Echo Park, Bundle of Joy; Cocoa Vanilla, Happness, Wild at Heart; Elle's Studio, puffy hearts; Paperchase, puffy hearts; MME, enamel dots

Thanks so much for looking, I really appreciate you taking the time.

And keep crafting!

White with 1 - January Challenge

WooHoo!

How fun to have you visit today for my first post as a DT member at White With 1 scrapbook challenge.

  No photo description available.

Love this misty mountain grey combined with the white and lots of interesting textures in the photo prompts.

I picked up on the wool by using a Funky Fossil knitted background stencil, the straws with the striped paper strip and used wood grain squares behind the photo. I was a bit stuck for the stones but I think my enamel hearts sort of echo their look. And of course there is no obligation to use the photo prompts, i just like to challenge myself!

I didn't have enough upper case letters to spell out the horse's name, so substituted with some lower case letters. Why are the letters you need always missing from sets?!!

Did you spot the quilt in the photo background? I'm proud to say that I sewed it and love how it looks in her room.

Supplies:
Papers: AC, Crate Paper Sunny Days; SU, woodgrain; scraps from my stash
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Knitted Background
Ink: SU, smoky slate
Alphas: Freckled Fawn, puffy alphabet; Lilybeedesign, ABC stickers; Echo Park, Winter Park
Stickers: Jillibean soup; Photoplay, Vintage Girl; Cocoa Vanilla, Boy's Rule; Elle's Studio, puffy stickers; Simple Stories, Life in Color; Msggie Holmes sticker book

Thanks you so much for visiting my blog today and I hope to see your pages popping up in the White With 1 facebook group. Find the links and challenge details HERE and HERE.

And remember to keep crafting!

Sunday Slot

Today I'm sharing a scrapbook page that I created using the sketch and colour from the White With 1 Challenge.

I really love the crisp fresh look that a white page with just one colour gives. Here's my Christmas green page.

I started by making the top border using Uniko's In The Forest stencil. I then punched a scalloped border to fit underneath and cut a straight strip to go above. The Christmas tree came next and then I placed the photograph on the vertical green panel.

One year on from the photo on this page, but he's still just as adorable and totally entranced by the magic of Christmas!

I punched the notebook border and stamped the lines to create a journalling card from a piece of white card. All these pieces were then adhered and the Christmas tree popped up onto foam pads for dimension. All that was left to do now was the fun part of adding embellishments.

I used stickers, words and enamels dots in three different groupings around the the vertical panel.

Supplies:
Stencil: Uniko. In The Forest
Ink: SU, tranquil tide
Stamps: Wonky Tonk, Meet Me Under The Christmas Tree; Kaisercraft, Wood panel
Punches: ek, notebook & scallop edgers
Embellishments: Pinkfresh Studio, Just a Little Lovely ephemera; MAMBI washi stickers; Paperchase puffy hearts; MME Necessities wooden arrow; YNS Gumdrops; Vicki Boutin & Maggie Holmes sticker books

It's been so much fun to have you visit my blog today. Thanks so much for taking the time.

I'm taking a little break from daily blogging as the Christmas season is beginning to hit me! There may be the odd blog post and challenge entry as I find the time and energy, but no promises.

I'll be back in January though, so until then keep crafting!

Sketchy Boards Guest Designer

I'm delighted to be here today guesting with Sketchy Boards for their December Challenge.

I used a photo from last Christmas for this page:

I started by choosing papers in Christmas greens and placing the horizontal background strips and the vertical chevron strips. I then used photoshop to make my photograph circular and die cut it with a stitched die. I also cut the outer circular frame by using two different sized circular dies.

Once that was all stuck down I added the title and journalling strips and then got to work on the embellishments stacks. I used a PL card from my dear Australian friend Helen as the basis for the left hand stack and simply added some fishtail banners. I stamped and die cut the holly and pine twig using Uniko's Winter Foliage collection.

I finished off with some wooden embellishments and my usual trios of enamel dots.

Supplies:
Papers: Bazzil Basics, clover leaf & red; echo park, Celebrate Christmas &  Magical Adventure; Crate Paper, Sunny Days
Alphas: Christmas  a gift from a crafty friend; Simple Stories, Destinations
Stamps: Uniko, Winter Foliage
Inks: SU, old olove, ral red
Dies: Uniko, Winter Foliage, M FT Die-namics, stitched fishtail flags, stitched jumbo fishtail banner
Embellishments & stickers: MME, wood shapes & enamel dots; Paperchase, puffy hearts; Elle's Studio, puffy hearts; Washi from my stash; Topper, a gift from a PL friend

Huge thanks for looking today, I'm so appreciative of you spending some time here at my blog.

And keep crafting!

Friday Focus

Today it's a scrapbook page and is for the challenge at Kraft Plus. It's a sketch plus some inspiration photos and has the title Ho Ho Ho.

Well although it says there is no need to go with a Christmas layout mine is - sort of. The photos are of my youngest grandson trying to show me, in the unique way of a one year old, what was inside the first window of his Playmobil Advent calendar. So cute!

I matched my paper choices to the colours of the photos rather than the Christmas theme and built up a grid using 2" squares. I then added some machine stitching just outside the edges.

Once the photos were stuck in position I then got creative with adding embellishments, words and stickers. And my title reads straight into the journalling. I flicked some watered down white ink top left and bottom right and used a stencil to get some watery snowflakes there too.

Supplies:
Ppaers: SC kraft card; Polkadoodles, Peeling Paint; SU, Feels Like Frost; scraps from my stash
Alphas: Pink Fresh Studio, Just a Little Lovely; Echo Park, Winter Park
Dies: Lawn Fawn, outside in hearts
Stencil: Uniko, Let It Snow
Ink: SU, whisper white
Stickers: Doodlebug Design Inc, Dragons Tails; Bella Blvd, Secrets of the Sea; Pinkfrsh Studio, Every Day Musings

Thanks so much for your time today, I'm so pleased you came to visit my blog.

And keep crafting!

Saturday Slot

A crisp frosty morning here in the UK, so how about a bit of Summer fun to warm up the day?

Here's a scrapbook page I've made just for fun to give myself a break from Christmas crafting and no challenges and not for a challenge.

I don't get many opportunities to snap these three together, but they were so absorbed in playing with the stones they didn't even notice me photographing them. So no funny faces or deep sighs to contend with.

I used lots of warm sunny colours and added word/phrase stickers and enamel dots in a triangle to frame the photo.

Supplies:
Papers: Simple Stories, Sunshine & Blue skies, Sunshine & Happiness
Alphas: Simple Stories Sunshine & Happiness
Stickers:  Simple Stories Sunshine & Happiness
Embellishments: Echo Park enamel dots, I'd rather be crafting

Thanks so much for looking today, I really appreciate you finding the time to visit my blog.

And keep crafting!

Tuesday Talk

I've a bright and fun scrapbook page to share today using the inspiration picture from Scrap The Boys as my starting point.

I'm still playing catch up with those Summer holiday snaps and thought the bright colours and comic book splat of the picture suited this one perfectly.

I used Uniko's Explosion & Explosion Additions stamps and dies to create my splats and title word. I added these to the patterned paper layers along with some stickers and enamel dots to create three embellishment areas round the photo.

Here's a closer look at the largest area which fits down the far right of the page.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Explosion, Explosion Additions
Ink: Versafine Clair, nocturne
Papers: Echo Park, Celebrate Easter; Jillibean Soup, Neopolitan Bean Bisque; scraps from my stash
Dies: Uniko Explosion Collection
Stickers: Simple Stories, Sunshine & Happiness, Bliss, Crafty Girl, Say Cheese, So Rad
Embellishments: MME enamel dots, Cut & Paste

Huge thanks for you time today. I'm so pleased you came to visit my blog.

And keep crafting!

Thursday Thoughts

Today i'm sharing a scrapbook page I created using the sketch from Let's Get Sketchy.

Once I'd selected the photos I wanted to use I picked a bright colourful background paper that seemed to reflect the fun of the photos.

I then layered up the photos with some white card to help them pop and added a horizontal strip behind them. I use some leftover scraps from the same paper for the two corner triangles.

The final part of the process was to add stickers, words and die cuts in a diagonal line from the top left to bottom right to guide the eye across and down the page.

Supplies:
Papers: Echo park, Teen Spirit
Stickers: Simple Stories, You Are Here, Crafty Girl; Echo Park, Teen Spirit
Embellishments: Echo Park enamel dots, I'd rather be crafting

Huge thanks for dropping by today, it's been so much fun to have your company for a while.

And keep crafting!
