CAS Colours & Sketches - #212

Tha last Februaty challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches begins today. It's also my last stint as hostess for the time being and I've a fairly classic and easy to use sketch to finish up with.

http://cascoloursandsketches.blogspot.com/2017/02/challenge-212-sketch.html

I really already had this card in my head before I even started designing the sketch, so all I had to do was decide on the colours.

I used the Stampin Up pens to add the yellow to the centre of the flower and then carefully inked round it with the pink. I really like the randomness this gives and the way the colours merge a bit, particularly with repeated stampings using the misti.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Beautiful Blooms I, All Occasion Sentiments #1
Inks: SU, sweet sugarplum, daffodil delight, old olive; Memento, tuxedo black
Dies: uniko, Beautiful Blooms I

I'm hoping you've got time to go check out the rest of the CC&S DT cards and our super Guest Designer Marsha too. Find them all here.

Delighted to have had your company here on my blog today, thanks so much.  And keep crafting!

Uniko Sponsors Less Is More

Double date with Uniko today as Bev is also sponsoring the challenge at Less Is More.

Here's my card:

I used Background Builders Triangulate to stamp the three lines of triangles across the card and then die cut a stitched circle. Love how the stamping looks a lot like washi tape.

I stamped the glorious smaller flowerhead from Beautiful Blooms I using a Kaleidacolor ink pad to get that lovely transition of colours from pink to purple. Then I used the matching Uniko die to cut out the flower and placed it inside the die cut circle. The sentiment was stamped on a piece of scrap card and placed slightly over the aperture.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Backgroud Builders Triangulat, Beautiful Blooms I, Simply Said Birthday
Ink: Kaleidacolor, Berry Blazr; Memento tuxedo black
Die: MFT Die-namics, inside/out stitched circles

Thanks so much for your time today, I really love that you spent some of it looking at my blog.  And keep crafting!

Uniko - February Release Reveal & Blog Hop

YAY! It's RELEASE day at Uniko! And here are all five sets revealed in full:

What an amazing release! Are you reeling with all the gorgeouness Bev has on offer this month? So today it's make your mind up time - so easy really, just choose them all!

I've a few more cards to share with you today using each of the five new sets, so grab a coffee, put your feet up and enjoy.

I'm starting with my personal favourite - difficult to pick just one, but Uniko Style has just pipped the others in my heart. And I'm even loving it in my least favourite colours too!

Next up I'm reverting to the order the stamps were introduced over the past few days and it's the turn of Block Party Birthday.

I stamped all over the background using Background Builders Round in Circles before stamping over it all with Block Party Birthday. I've added bling with shimmer dots and Wink of Stella and a plain green mat to echo the green words.

I've used colour in a slightly different way on this next card which uses Originally Organic Additions. I added a pale colour to the insides of the stamped images and then outlined them with a darker colour - an experiment with colouring outside of the lines!

I've also tried to show how the stamp can be used in a different shape form its basic heart formation.

Then comes that wonderful Background Blocks Halftone. And for this card I've let it be used as a background by stamping it over a left over scrap of watercoloured cardstock. The Beautiful Blooms flower is a hard one to put in the shade, but I think the halftone more than stands up to its competition!

Finally I've made a WOW! card - just perfect for those occasions when you want to say well done in a WOW! way. This card will be winging its way to one of my grandsons to congratulate him on a sporting achievement.

Uniko February Release - Introducing Uniko Style

And then there is this stamp set! Oh WOW! The final introduction to Uniko's February release and I'm thinking Bev has saved the best to last!

http://unikostudio.blogspot.com/2017/02/introducing-uniko-style.html

This set is based on Bev's love of marimekko patterns and has already become a firm favourite in my Uniko stash. I so enjoyed putting this card together and hope you'll all love it as much as I do.

Some signature pinks and purples with the addition of some blues and an all over pattern for a change. Totally smitten!

I stamped the large greeting directly on top of the blooms and added a banner with two more words to finish off my card.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Uniko Style, All Occasion Sentiments #2, Explosion! Additions
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black, lulu lavender, sweet plum, grape jelly, angel pink, lilac posies, summer sky, bamboo leaves; SU, melon mambo, marina mist, dapper denim

So that concludes all the introductions to Uniko's February release. Links to the rest of the DT cards using this set can be found here.

Tomorrow is the day! Brace yourself and get ready to fill your shopping baskets. And maybe you'll get lucky and win the whole set - look here for one way to do just that!

Uniko February Release - Introducing Explosion! Additions

Such a fun stamp set from Uniko's new release to introduce to you today - BAM! Awesome and Fabulous!

http://unikostudio.blogspot.com/2017/02/introducing-explosion-additions.html

A real comic book style to this set and that's really influenced my colour choices. Here's my card:

I started by stamping the halftone splat in black and then stamped right over it in yellow moving the stamp slightly to the right. The BAM! demanded a bold red - in my opinion - and I handcut around it, mounted it onto pads and placed it over the background splat.

I then added two more words from this set and added to that diagonal movement by using the smaller splats. The whole thing was matted on two sides in turquoise. Quite in your face wouldn't you say?

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Explosions! Additions
Inks: SU, tempting turquoise, daffodil delight, real red; Memento, tuxedo black

Want to see what the rest of the Uniko DT has done with this stamp set? Check it all out here.

Well BAM! You're all my heroes for visiting my blog today, so THANKS! And keep crafting!

Uniko February Release - Introducing Background Blocks Halftone

I'm so excited to introduce you to today's stamp from Uniko's February release. It's one of those how did I ever manage without it sort of stamps and is going to be so so brilliant for creating backgrounds for cards and scrapbook pages.

http://unikostudio.blogspot.com/2017/02/introducing-background-blocks-halftone.html

So I gave this one a lot of thought and although as I mentioned it really lends itself to background stamping I wanted to use it as the main element on my card. Here's what I came up with:

And I'm really pleased with how this one turned out! I stamped the halftone twice, once in black onto white card and the second stamping in a mix of sparkly embossing powders onto black cardstock.

I die cut a stitched square from black cardstock and adhered the white card stamping to it. I then sliced up the sparkly stamping and turned each strip as I added it to the white card stamping.

I finished off the card with a simple white die cut word. And I don't often big myself up, but I'm a bit smitten with this card!

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Background Blocks Halftone
Inks: Memento,tuxedo black; Versamark, clear
Embossing: Hony Doo Crafts, mix of rose gold, silver sparkle & copper classic
Die: Lawn Fawn, large stitched square stackables; Clearly Besotted, hello

So another stamp on your wishlist? Yep I'm sure it is and still another two introductions to go. Find the rest of the DT creations using the halftone block here

Are you saving up your pennies? The next two are just as yummy, desirable and very different! So thanks for dropping by today and be sure to come back again tomorrow.  And keep crafting!

CAS Colours & Sketches - #211

Another trio of colours for you at CAS Colours & Sketches this week. Pretty and with a hint of Spring just around the corner was what I was hoping for when I chose them.

http://cascoloursandsketches.blogspot.com/2017/02/challenge-211-colours.html

So, of course, my card had to have some flowers!

I'm still a bit smitten with this over large sentiment stamp from Stampin Up, love the brush stroke font! And as often happens in card making there are some threes involved too - three words, three flowers, three colours, three enamel dots - so lovely and tidy.

Supplies:
Stamps: SU, Botanicals For You, Blooms & Wishes
Inks: SU, peekaboo peach, watermelon wonder; Memto, tuxedo black
Cardstock: SU, cucumner crush
Embellishments: SU, cucumber crush enamel dots

How will you see these colours? Always amazing to see the variety of cards you all come up with given that we all started out from the same inspiration point.  Go see what the rest of the CC&S DT have imagined here.

Huge thanks for visiting my blog today, I'm always thrilled to see you.  and keep crafting!

Uniko February Release - Introducing Originally Organic Additions

So are you ready for the next Uniko new release introduction? You're going to fall in love with this one!

http://unikostudio.blogspot.com/2017/02/introducing-originally-organic-additions.html

And I did mean to have a little play on words with that 'fall in love' statement, because this stamp set really lends itself to making love themed cards, think weddings or anniversaries or engagements or just because type cards.

Here's my card:

This is a build your own sort of stamp, so I started with the basic leaf heart shape and then added the flowers and smaller elements.  I also added one flower from the previously released Originally Organic which matches up and adds an extra bit of versatility to this new set.

The sentiments that come with this set are themed around friendship, but could easily be switched up with other Uniko sentiments to change the feel of the card.

SAupplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Originally Organic Additions & Originally Organic
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black; SU, old olive
Colours: Spectrum Noir Colorista, denim, pearl blue, cobalt, cerilea, cyan, pear green, forest green
Die: Lawn Fawn, large stitched square stackables

If you haven't already I'd recommend popping over to check out the rest of the Uniko DT creations - here - but be warned this stamp set is definitely going to be jumping into your basket on Saturday!

Thanks for your time today, it's been great having you visit.  And keep crafting!

Uniko February Release - Introducing Block Party Birthday

Time to introduce the first of Uniko's February new release. So exciting and well worth the wait!

http://unikostudio.blogspot.com/2017/02/introducing-block-party-birthday.html

I've actually got two cards to share, although I only really set out to make one - all will become clear!

First I inked up the stamp in dark blue and then made a second stamping on another piece of card in the turquoise.

I then die cut two circles from each card, using the words on the stamp to ensure they weer both in the same place and swapped out the larger circle to alternate the colours. Here's the second bonus card you get by using this technique:

And I'm thinking these colours will be perfect for the men in my family, but I'm already planning a pink/purple version.

I matted the stamped blocks and added a couple of trios of enamel dots to finish off my cards.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Block Party Birthday
Inks: SU, night of navy, tempting turquoise
Die: Spellbinders, standard circles small
Embellishments: Bling Bling, enamel dots

One for your wish list today and four more sets to go - going to be a busy Uniko week! The rest of the DT have cards to show the versatility of this stamp set too, find all the links here.

Thanks for looking today, your visit has been much appreciated. And keep crafting!
