Unscripted Sketches Game 7

Today sees the start of Game 7 at Unscripted Sketches.  And a new PL page for me.

http://unscriptedsketches.com/

A lot going on in this sketch, so I repeated the checkerboard paper over the card and linked the three elements with buttons to help it look co-ordinated.

I stamped the vertical line and added an Ali Edwards overlay to the photo.

Here's the top half of the page that this card has been popped into - more revealed next week.

Supplies:
Paper: My Mind's Eye, Miss Caroline Dilly Dally
Stamps: SU, PL Point & Click
Inks: Memento, Paris dusk
Die: Clearly Besotted, Journal It
Photo overlay: Ali Edwards Digital, Everyday Life Cursive
Embellishments: Shimelle, die cut cardstock shapes; buttons from my stash

Thanks for dropping by today, I do appreciate your time.

Unscripted Sketches Game 6

Already a new game at Unscripted Sketches and this week the sketch has plenty of room to add journalling if that's your thing - definitely mine!

http://unscriptedsketches.com/

It's been a while since I added stitching to a project and those journalling lines on the sketch seemed a perfect opportunity to get the sewing machine out. Fortunately the cardstock had grid lines on it so I was able to follow them to help keep my stitching straight.

The rest of the card came together really quickly with the addition of some stamping, some die cuts and a photo.

And this is part of the page that the card was slotted into with my journalling added to those stitched lines.  The last part of this page and the last PL card will be revealed next week.

Supplies:
Paper: doodlebug, kraft in color
Stamps: SU, Point & Click
Ink: Memento, rich cocoa
Embellishments: Simple Stories, diy burlap stickers; SU, wooden element; button from my stash

So pleased you dropped by today, thanks!

Unscripted Sketches Game 5

Looking for a great sketch to kick start your creativity? Well look no further!  Unscripted Sketches Game 5 is perfect for a PL card, a scrapbook page, a card or anything you'd like it to be.  There is no right or wrong way, as long as you are using the Unscripted Sketch as the inspiration and basis of your creation!

http://unscriptedsketches.com/

My PL card is bright, bold and happy. I moved one of the three banners from the sketch to the top of my card and used the colours from the numbers as the basis for my colour choices.

A horizontal strip with a twine threaded button at one end is a bit of a favourite combination for me when scrapbooking.

And here's a peek at the page this card is slotted into.  More will be revealed next week.

Supplies:
Paper: doodlebug, Kraft in Color & Take Note
Card: Shimelle, diecut carstock sticker
Embellishments: buttons & twine from my stash

And I've just got time to share my 1st October day in my life pages.  The sky was just so amazingly beautiful early in the morning as I walked round to my dad's and I picked up a fallen leaf on my way too.

Here's a better look at that sky:

And the brilliant freebie from Katie Pertiet:

Thank you for looking today, hope you'll join in with the challenge at Unscripted Sketches - we're still very new but working hard to grow our audience.

So here we go with Challenge 4 at Unscripted Sketches. Another amazing layout for you to use for a PL card or anything else that takes your fancy.

http://unscriptedsketches.com/

This is the last of the set of three cards that I made using the same collection of papers and I have to say it's my favourite. Something to do with the ampersands and the clash of colours I think!

And today I'm sharing the whole page with all three of the PL cards from the last three challenges.

Paper: SU, Moonlight Designer series
Stamps: Clearly Besotted, Superstar
Ink: SU, rich razzleberry
Punch: Martha Stewart, heart; Xcut, corner rounder
Embellishments: Simple Stories, burlap stickers; Scrap 365, wooden stars; Webster Storytellers, stickers, corrugated card & buttons from my stash

Unscripted Sketches Game 2

Well did you play along with last week's challenge? Are you ready for the next one? Here we go then!

http://unscriptedsketches.com/

And this is how I interpreted it:

As you can see I pretty much stuck to the sketch without playing around too much, just exchanged the circles for hearts.

And here's a peek at the whole page this card is slotting into.  Next week I'll show a bit more, and then the whole reveal will be in two weeks.

I'm loving the colours of these SU papers, something to do with the clash of purple and mustard. I've used them for my LSNED album too so they're pretty much all used up, may just have to order some more!

Supplies:
Papers: SU, Moonlight paper stack, corrugated card from Lidl
Dies: Clearly Besotted, hello & Tag Along; Lawn Fawn, Stitched Party Banners
Punch: Martha Stewart, heart; Xcut, corner rounder
Embellishments: Simple Stories, burlap stickers; buttons from my stash

So now it's over to you.  Remember  if PL is not your thing you can still enter the challenge, just use the sketch to make a card or scrapbook page or anything else your imagination comes up with.
There is no right or wrong way, as long as you are using the Unscripted Sketch as the inspiration and basis of your creation!

Oh and a little reminder that UK time is in advance of US time so you'll need to check back at the Unscripted Sketches blog later today if you're in the UK.

Your time is precious, so thanks for spending some of it here looking at my blog.

Unscripted Sketches Game 1

At last the day has arrived and it's time to reveal the first challenge at Unscripted Sketches.  Drum roll please!

http://unscriptedsketches.com/

And here's my card all ready for my new grandson's album when he makes his appearance later this year.  So it's a first for him too!

As you can see I rotated the sketch to give me a landscape card which fits the album size I'm going to be using better - a simple stories sn@p 6" x 8".

I started by inking through a stencil with distress ink onto some kraft cardstock. My intention is to journal onto this section of the card.

Next I die cut a banner from patterned paper and then a circle mat to go behind the scan photo which I also die cut into a circle.

Then I added some machine stitching and stamped the sentiments and sequins.  The card was finished with a die cut love sentiment and a wooden pointing arm.

Supplies:
Stamps: Clearly Besotted, Journal It & Good Times; Uniko Studio, A Gift For You
Inks: Ranger distress, frayed burlap; SU, real red; Memento, rich cocoa
Stencil: Memory Box, mesh
Paper: My Mind's Eye, Miss Caroline Dilly Dally & Follow Your Heart
Die: Lawn Fawn, Stitched Party Banner; Spellbinders, standard cirlce small; Clearly Besotted, love
Embellishments: Scrap 365wooden shapes

So now it's over to you!  Can't wait to see what you all come up with and I'm really looking forward to making some new blog friends who enjoy project life, scrapbooking or card making.

Thanks for looking today.

More Unscripted Sketches Introductions

Did you catch the first round of Designer Team introductions at Unscripted Sketches last Saturday?  If not follow this link - invested interest here as I featured last week!  Today you learn about the rest of the team and hopefully will also have time to visit their blogs and leave a little love to these talented ladies.

The challenges start next Saturday so to celebrate my involvement with Unscripted Sketches I'm sharing a whole Project Life page I made this week.

And a few close ups too.  A simple card made from three pieces of paper, some twine and a button.

I'm always happy to stick bits straight onto my photos as I can always print them again if it goes wrong.

At least one card had to have a stamp - Uniko Studio, of course! And I added three banners with tiny brads, a die cut heart and a die cut stamp sentiment.  Never be frightened to cut down papers to get the effect you want.

So are you ready to go? All the DT will be using the sketches to produce Project Life cards, but if this is not your thing no worries, just use the sketch to produce whatever you most enjoy - after all we are UNSCRIPTED!

Here's the deal - Flip the sketch, rotate it… create a project life card, a scrapbook page, a card or anything your imagination comes up with! There is no right or wrong way, as long as you are using the Unscripted Sketch as the inspiration and basis of your creation!

Thanks so much for looking at my blog today.  Only one more week to wait and then you can join in the fun!

Unscripted Sketches Introductions

Unscripted Sketches is back! But with a twist - it's now all about Project Life cards and with some new team members. And guess what? Well if you follow my blog you'll already know, but it makes me excited to announce it all over again - I'm part of this new team!

 Jane1

Last week the Design Team photos and names were up on the blog here, but this week and next week there will be more detailed introductions of each member. Click here for this week's post. Then the challenges are due to begin on 6th September.

So here's the sketch that I had to use as part of my application to become a member of the Design Team.
DT Sketch #1

And this was my interpretation:

I'm so delighted that Unscripted Sketches is back - it was always a very favourite challenge blog for me.  Hope you'll be playing along in September - some stunning sketches and samples in the pipeline!
