Tuesday Talk

Today I'm playing along with the word prompt challenge at Inkspirational.

And music has power right? Even if I'm not watching a film or TV programme there's some music which immediately makes me fearful and wanting to hide behind the sofa. And there's loud demanding music like the electric guitar gods play. That's where my card comes in:

And I've got quite a few wannabe rock gods in my family! So this card is being squirrelled away for one of them.

I needed to do a little masking of the guitar handle before stamping the sound waves and chose my favourite colours of all the Kaleidacolor pads that I own. Such very cool and funky stamps don't you think?

Monday Moment

There's a huge birthday celebration going on over at STAMPlorations for the whole of June and I'm joining in today with a card I CASEd from one of their DT Shirley.

    

In fact I loved Shirley's idea so much I actually created four cards - way to go! Here they are:

I haven't done such a large bundle of similar cards for ages now and I found it really relaxing getting all inky and stamping! I started this card by creating a masterboard - as Shirley mentioned in her post.

I started with a peach coloured card and some favourite ink colours and loads of stamps from different companies.

Then I used some stencils to add more coloured and also just brushed colour straight on top. Once I was happy with my masterboard - and I can tell you I really didn't want to stop adding in extra bits - I cut it down to four smaller segments.

I inked round the edges of these smaller cards and then stuck them onto a white card base. Have you spotted mine are straight? I couldn't quite achieve that angled look that Shirley did so brilliantly. I stamped and fussy cut some strong images and added a small amount of orange to each.

And I'm really feeling very self satisfied and at peace with myself now they're all completed. Also loving how such a complicated process has finally turned into quite a CAS look.

Sunday Spot

Today I'm playing along with Just Us Girls where the word is OUTSIDE.

And for me my immediate thought was outside of the box - or as my card suggests 'it's ok to be different'.

I used stamps from Precious Remembrance Shop and a Kaleidacolor ink pad. Just love all the tiny splatters that have stamped so clearly!

I die cut the white card with a stitched die and then matted it onto a matching card base.

Happy Little Stampers June CAS Challenge - Smile

How are you feeling today? Well the new challenge at Happy Little Stampers is bound to make you feel bright and happy as the theme is SMILE.

And for my card I used an older stamp from my stash which always puts a smile on my face.

Of course the hot pink and glittery sparkle also helped quite a bit too! And you know that sentiment is actually quite true.

Well it just had to be that gorgeous Uniko lily didn't it? But I've brought it bang up to date with a couple of stamps from the newest release too.

CAS Mix Up Challenge Guest Designer

Hi all! I'm so excited to be back with a second post for today as I'm Guest Designing at CAS Mix Up.

How awesome is that! And just wait till you check out the technique that's required for this month's challenge.  How amazing does this technique look and why have I not discovered it before?

Here's my card and first try out of layering embossing powders:

I started by stamping and heat embossing in white the gorgeous Winnie & Walter Bed of Roses background stamp. I then swiped it over with versamark ink - luckily the stamp pad just fitted perfectly - and heat embossed it with hologram powder. I repeated this to give another layer and amazing depth of glitter.

I die cut this panel into a stitched rectangle and then used a stack of three thanks diecuts on top. Check out all the sparkle in the photo below!

Uniko Challenge Reminder #47 Photo Inspiration, Optional Twist Birthday

I'm here today to remind you about the challenge going on at Uniko at the moment. There's a really beautiful photo to inspire you and the optional twist is a total gift - birthday.

I really focused in on the photo and took the pinks flowers as my inspiration and came up with this card:

In fact I focused in so much that I only used one flower - the very gorgeous Uniko rose.

And I tried something a bit different too. I started by stamping the solid rose onto scrap paper and then I inked up the French Script background stamp and stamped it onto the solid rose stamp before stamping the whole lot onto the card. That's why the script is a mirror image.

Then I stamped the outline rose over the top. I really love the patchy feel of the background and think it looks really pretty.
