Friday Focus

I'm joining in with the Bottoms Up Challenge at Happy Little Stampers.

Well my immediate thoughts went to ducks sticking their bottoms in the air when they look for food. So that's what I went with!

I started by cutting a bottom section for the water using the T4TD Landscape Edge die set. I inked this up with oxides in two colours, splattered it with water and then adhered it onto a base card.

Next I stamped, coloured and die cut the images using T4TD Lucky Ducks. Once they were all placed I stamped the greeting and couldn't resist adding in the little bee.

Saturday Slot

I'm playing along at Happy Little Stampers again today, but this time with their CAS Challenge.

I've use the delightful see-saw image from T4TD Life's Ups & Downs on my card:

As this was to be a CAS card I kept everything towards the bottom of my card to leave plenty of empty white space above. This image looks really sweet when die cut and attached with a brad so that the see-saw can move, but I thought this might not suit the CAS genre.

So I stamped the see-saw middle and masked it off and then stamped the rest of the see-saw and the animals on top. I coloured using Copics and added in some background too.

Wednesday Words

Hey!

Today I'm playing with fire - well the inky stencil sort anyway! 

It's for the April CAS challenge at Happy Little Stampers.

Well I knew it was going to be the Flaming stencil from Funky Fossil. I just had to sort the colours.

On my way through my storage album where I keep all my Funky Fossil stencils - in alphabetical order of course - I spotted the Dragons and Dragon Scales stencils so I pulled them out too.

And the dragon rising out of the fir was created!

The sentiment is from Funky Fossil's Hogs & Kisses stamp set and seemed very appropriate.

Today I'm playing along with the CAS challenge at Happy Little Stampers.

I love CAS and I also love using trios of things on my cards. So this theme was right up my street.

Well I  thought one of these mice from Time For Tea Designs was adorable but three of them all lined up in a row - another of my favourite things - is just THE BEST!

I coloured each one up in slightly different shades and then used the matching die to cut them out. I added a spot of black glaze pen to each of their noses.

Today I'm sharing a card I created with two challenges in mind - Happy Little Stampers CAS & Inkspirational.

How appropriate is that for today?

I used Uniko's BIG & BOLD Love stamp set and my favourite red ink from Stampin' Up cherry cobbler.

I hand cut the word love and then popped it up on foam pads for extra dimension, but still keeping the layers to a minimum.

Tuesday Talk

Today I'm sharing a card I created to play along with the challenge at HLS CAS.

I'm thinking a parent and child would meet the requirements for this theme and pulled out the adorable Hug It Out stamp set from Georgia Hey.

I started by stamping the greeting and then placed the image just to the right of it. I coloured using Copic pens.

Happy Little Stampers June CAS Challenge - Party

Feel like you need a party? Well how about creating your own with the June Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge.

A party has to have cake and if it's got pink or purple icing even better!

I used the cutest ever LOTV digi and a sentiment from Uniko. And those all important party colours!

Happy Little Stampers May CAS Challenge- Smile

A really fabulous theme at Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge this month - SMILE.

And we could all do with a reason to smile these days! Maybe crafting up a smile card could help a little towards this.

I used digi stamps from Graciellie for my card and kept it all clean and crisp by just adding some touches of aqua blue. And as you know photos are very close to my heart and I find myself using them even more at the moment to keep in touch with my family.

Happy Little Stampers April CAS Challenge - Feathers

It's time for a new CAS Challenge at Happy Little Stampers.

Are you a plan ahead or a last minute crafter? Well I fall firmly into the first category, so of course my card was made way before the current stay at home important advice. My card is definitely one to wait a bit and look to the future type - and we will get back there I'm sure!

I used the stamp set Adventure from Funky Fossil and added colour with Miya oil pencils. I placed everything down in one corner, a favourite design when creating CAS cards.

Happy Little Stampers - March CAS Challenge

Don't you just love it when a challenge theme is really helpful? Well the new one at Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge is a real gift - who doesn't like to use a favourite technique!

Well of course the difficulty here lies in choosing a technique when there are so many, but currently I adore the effect of alcohol inks on yupo paper and that's where I began.

Having created the magical mix that alcohol inks produce I decided to stay on the same theme with my image. I stamped, coloured and hand cut the dragon and then added a sentiment on a banner.

I love the theme for this month's challenge and knew immediately which stamps I wanted to use - the new Serenity set from Funky fossil.

This set has the most amazing sentiment and it fits perfectly with the positive theme. As you can see I chose some of my favourite pinks and purples for the image.

Happy Little Stampers - January CAS Challenge

YAY! It's 2020!

And it's time for the first 2020 CAS challenge at Happy Little Stampers.

My card has plenty of wings using the Funky Fossil Flying High stencil and also a tiny peek at some new stamps that will be released later this month.

I masked off a triangle - loved that Less is More challenge using triangles last year - and then placed the Flying High stencil over it and inked through with two distress inks.  I then stamped the two swallows and greeting that are on that upcoming stamp set. It's a beauty and will be available from 25th January. You can just see some more little bits poking out in the photo below!

Happy Little Stampers - December CAS Challenge

I'm here today to tell you all about the new CAS challenge that's started at Happy Little Stampers. It's a very chilly theme so matches the weather here in the UK perfectly!

Here's my card:

I used the gorgeous Funky Fossil fox and set him in a Winter scene. I started by stamping the fox, masking him and the bottom of the card and then placing a circle stencil over it all. I stamped the trees next and masked them off too.

I used distress ink to add the sky, then removed the bottom mask and inked the icy ground. Then it was time to remove all the masks and reveal the finished scene.

I coloured the fox and his scarf, keeping him in icy colours - maybe he's a snow fox? And then I added some stickles glitter glue to make the icy ground sparkle. The greeting was the final finishing touch.
