Happy Little Stampers - March CAS Challenge

Don't you just love it when a challenge theme is really helpful? Well the new one at Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge is a real gift - who doesn't like to use a favourite technique!

Well of course the difficulty here lies in choosing a technique when there are so many, but currently I adore the effect of alcohol inks on yupo paper and that's where I began.

Having created the magical mix that alcohol inks produce I decided to stay on the same theme with my image. I stamped, coloured and hand cut the dragon and then added a sentiment on a banner.

Supplies:
Stamps: MFT, Magical Friends
Inks: Ranger Alcohol, sunshine yellow, raspberry, pool; Memento, tuxedo black
Pens: Copic, BG11, BG32, BG0000, V01, V15, Y11, E0000, E42, YG03, RV000; Wink of Stella, clear

How about you? What are your favourite techniques at the moment? I'm really looking forward to finding out and maybe discovering some new ones to try out.

Huge thanks for your time today, I'm really pleased you spent some of it visiting my blog.

And keep crafting!

Happy Little Stampers - January CAS Challenge

YAY! It's 2020!

Image result for happy new year gif"

And it's time for the first 2020 CAS challenge at Happy Little Stampers.

.

My card has plenty of wings using the Funky Fossil Flying High stencil and also a tiny peek at some new stamps that will be released later this month.

I masked off a triangle - loved that Less is More challenge using triangles last year - and then placed the Flying High stencil over it and inked through with two distress inks.  I then stamped the two swallows and greeting that are on that upcoming stamp set. It's a beauty and will be available from 25th January. You can just see some more little bits poking out in the photo below!

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil - new release peek
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne; Ranger distress, squeezed lemonade, picked raspberry
Stencil Funky Fossil, Flying High

Don't forget to pop on over to the Happy Little Stampers blog to check out all the fabulous makes from the CAS Challenge DT - HERE. And then spread your wings and fly into 2020 with your own beautiful ideas.

Happy Little Stampers - December CAS Challenge

I'm here today to tell you all about the new CAS challenge that's started at Happy Little Stampers. It's a very chilly theme so matches the weather here in the UK perfectly!

Here's my card:

I used the gorgeous Funky Fossil fox and set him in a Winter scene. I started by stamping the fox, masking him and the bottom of the card and then placing a circle stencil over it all. I stamped the trees next and masked them off too.

I used distress ink to add the sky, then removed the bottom mask and inked the icy ground. Then it was time to remove all the masks and reveal the finished scene.

I coloured the fox and his scarf, keeping him in icy colours - maybe he's a snow fox? And then I added some stickles glitter glue to make the icy ground sparkle. The greeting was the final finishing touch.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Woodland Wishes
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black; SU, smoky slate, soft sky
Pens: Copic, C00, C0, C1, C3, C5, C7, BG0000, BG15
Embellishments: Stickles, stardust

How will you interpret this theme? I'm thinking it might be a good one for New Year cards if your Christmas stash is full. Or maybe for a Winter birthday with all the magic of the new Frozen movie around at the moment. Check out what the rest of the HLS DT have created HERE.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today and I hope wherever you are you're warm and cosy.

And keep crafting!

Happy Little Stampers - November CAS Challenge

It's time for a new CAS challenge at Happy Little Stampers and what could be a more timely theme than 'Tis the Season.

Here's my quick and easy card:

One of those designs to fall back on when you're in a hurry. Simply use some patterned paper and a sparkly die cut greeting and it almost makes itself.

It just needed a stamped word to finish the greeting and a trio of enamel dots and it was done. Bit of a production line type of card that could be made multiple times in different colours and patterns. And sometimes that's exactly what we need!

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Simply Said Christmas
Ink: SU, real red
Die: Winnie & Walter, Merry
Embellishments: Wink of stella, clear; MME Necessities enamel dots

Happy Little Stampers - October CAS Challenge

Yay! I'm back with my DT card for the Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge. I missed September's because I was on holiday, but am delighted to be playing along again this month.

Wow, adventure! That's a tricky one for me because I'm not really the adventurous type and like to stick to what I know. So a bit of a search to find some inspiration on pinterest led me to creating this card:

A ride in a hot air balloon - now that really would be an adventure! I stamped the balloon first and then built up my clouds surrounding it and added some sky blue to the edges. Some brighter colours on the balloon and a simple greeting and I was done.

Supplies:
Stamps: Clearly Besotted, Take Flight
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Pens: Copic, R29, R39, B000, B01, Y18, Y38, E57, E59

I'm so looking forward to seeing what the rest of the HLS DT come up with for this theme and also all your cards popping up in the gallery. Find them all HERE.

Thanks so much for you company today.

Happy Little Stampers - August CAS Challenge

I'm here today to tell you all about the new CAS challenge that's starting at Happy Little Stampers.

It's a fabulous theme and one that many CAS card makers turn to to ensure they keep plenty of empty white space - Only One Third.

And as it's was super hot and sunny when I created this card it has a bit of a summer vibe going on!

I started by stamping the ice cream sundaes and then coloured them and the background using Copic pens. I achieved the mottled looking background effect by using a tiny piece of sponge dipped into the colourless blender solution.

Supplies:
Stamps: Clearly Besotted, Sunny Sundae
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Pens: Copic, RV02, RV04, RV09, W0, W1, W3, E33, E37, YG13, Y02, Y13, BG32, BG34 +  colorless blender

So how will you use up your one thirdof the card front? I look forward to finding out!

Happy Little Stampers - July CAS Challenge

I'm back again today with my DT card for the July CAS Challenge at Happy Little Stampers.

Here's my purplicious card:

When i made this card the bird die was out on my craft table and seemed to fit the bill perfectly. So I die cut it onto a piece of white card stock and then placed my favourites purples with a hint of green behind it. I'd like to say I created this background paper myself, but it's from a paper pad that I love. In fact I'm on my second pad as I was so upset when I used all the first one - now that doesn't happen very often me buying the same supplies again - well not deliberately anyway!

Supplies:
Dies: Unknown, birds; Technique Tuesday, That Arrow Card
Paper: First Edition, Wild Flower

Be sure to pop on over to the Happy Little Stampers blog to see what the rest of the DT have created HERE. You'll be in for a real treat and bound to come away feeling super inspired.

Thanks for looking today, please come back again soon.

Happy Little Stampers June CAS Challenge

Well what do you think about the theme for the new CAS Challenge at Happy Little Stampers? Funny huh!

Here's hoping my card gives you a laugh!

This stamp from Bugaboo had me hooked as soon as I saw it! I so loved the words and had to find a way to add them and still keep my cad CAS. So I popped the image behind a die cut window, seemed appropriate to frame it and it also stopped it from over filling the card. Got to have empty white space!

Supplies:
Stamps: Bugaboo, Stella Identity theft
Die: MFT Die-namics, rectangle peek-a-boo window
Pens: Copic, W0, W1, E21, E50, E51, E70, C0, C1, R29, R39, Y35, Y38, YR15, YR16

This month's CAS Challenge should have you rolling with laughter so do go over to the blog and see what the rest of my teammies have been up to. Find it all HERE.

I'm so pleased you found my blog today, thanks so much for looking.

Happy Little Stampers May CAS Challenge

I'm back again today with news about the new CAS Challenge at Happy Little Stampers.

I love cards where the words take centre stage so this theme is right up my street.

I created a background using alcohol inks and yupo paper and then simply popped a sentiment die cut over it. the colours are so vibrant and vivid that they really shine out through the gaps in the die cut.

Quick, easy and fun to create - most definitely my sort of card!

Supplies:
Die: Lil'inker, Happy birthday
Inks: Ranger alcohol, purple twilight, pool
Paper: Ranger, Alcohol Ink Yupo

The rest of the HLS CAS DT have also be busy creating cards to inspire you to play along. go check them all out - HERE.

Happy Little Stampers April CAS Challenge

I'm here today to share my DT card for the new Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge.

Its's a One Layer theme this month and I love the way this makes me really experiment with my supplies to achieve a satisfying result.

I started this card by inking through a sunray stencil and then stamped on top of it quite randomly with different sized butterflies from Visible Image.

I added the largest and most beautiful butterfly, in my opinion, using black heat embossed ink to make it really pop against the background colours. I then went searching for a greeting that would stretch across the width of the card and separate the busy top part from the empty 'white' space at the bottom.

Supplies:
Stamps: Visible Image, Wings of Change; Greeting from MFT, Springtime Blooms
Inks: Veramark clear + Ranger superfine black embossing powder; Versafine Clair, nocturne; SU, pool party, blackberry bliss; ColorBox, grape
Stencil: Create a Smile, Focal Point
Pens: Copic, BG32, BV01; Sakura gelly roll, white; Wink of Stella, clear

Happy Little Stampers March CAS Challenge

Already it's March! How quickly this year is flying!

Time for a new CAS Challenge at Happy Little Stampers then!

This theme fitted perfectly with my need to create a wedding anniversary card for one of my sons, so that's what I went with.

I used the clustered hearts die from STAMPlorations and a scrap of pink card left over from the wedding invitations I made for them. Once the hearts were adhered I nestled the stamped greeting around one end.

Supplies:
Stamps: Clearly Besotted, Mr & Mrs
Die: CUTplorations, Clustered Hearts
Ink: Versafine Clair, nocturne

So what's your idea of a special day? Go check out what the rest of the HLS CAS crew have come up with HERE and then once you're totally inspired get creating and linking up to the challenge!

Happy Little Stampers February CAS Challenge

It's time for a new CAS challenge at Happy Little Stampers. The theme for February is FRIENDS.

I used one of the cute animal pairs from Clearly Besotted and a bit of masking to create my card.

The animals were stamped first and then masked off. I then masked off the card front to leave just a strip around the animals. A bit of colour blending across this strip and then all the masks were removed.

I added colour to the animals and stamped a greeting to finish off my card.

Supplies:
Stamps: Clearly Besotted, Best Friends
Inks: Ranger distress, mermaid lagoon, cracked pistachio; Versafine Clair, nocturne
Pens: Copic, W0, W1, C1, C3, C5, C7

Will you join in and play along with this CAS Challenge? Do pop over to HLS and check out all the other DT cards, you're sure to be inspired.
