AAA Cards Challenge #199 - No Layers + optional twist Hugs

Today I'm sharing my DT card for the new AAA Cards Challenge.

The card has to have no layers at all and there's the optional twist of Hugs. I went with the optional twist and immediately got out my Tracey Hey Hug It Out stamp set.

I inked up the bottom panel and used the Falling Hearts stencil from Funky Fossil in the same ink colours to add the impression of dimension. Then I stamped straight on top with the cute koalas, sentiment and a few of the smaller stamps from the set.

Supplies:
Stamps: Tracey Hey/Georgia Hey, Hug It Out
Inks: Memento, grape jelly, rose bud; Versafine Clair, nocturne

The rest of the AAA Cards DT and our awesome GD Cat Craig have wonderful inspiration for you on the blog - HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today, it's been fun having you visit.

Saturday Spot

Today I'm playing along with the Always Anything Goes Stencil challenge at STAMPlorations.

Here's my card:

I've been using the Tracey Hey Wreath Rascals stamp set the last couple of days and one of the things that really attracts me to her stamps, apart from the cute images, are her amazing sentiments. I think that this particular one and the Funky Fossil Alien Invasion stencil are a match made in heaven!

I place the stencil carefully to allow space for the sentiment and masked off the bits that would encroach on this space too much. Then I used three colours of distress inks to create the scene. I finished off by stamping the sentiment and matting the whole thing onto a purple card base. What other colour would I use I hear you thinking!

Supplies:
Stamps: Tracey Hey, Wreath Rascals
Inks: Ranger distress, wilted violet, cracked pistachio, blueprint sketch; Versafine Clair, nocturne

I'm so pleased that you had time to stop by today, thanks so much for your company.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

Friday Focus

Time to play at Less is More especially as it's Sharon's birthday CASe card to be inspired by!

And this is how it inspired me:

I picked up on the curved central design, the  placement of the flowers and of course the fresh citrussy colours, but went even more CAS than Sharon. I used stamps from Tracey Hey's Wreath Rascals and coloured using my Copic pens. The single flower was popped up onto foam pads.

Supplies:
Stamps: Tracey Hey, Wreath Rascals
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Pens: Copic, E00, E21, E33, YG00, Y02, Y04, Y06, Y17, Y18, Y35, Y38. YR02, YR04, YR07, YR16

Thursday Thoughts

Today I'm sharing a card I made that was inspired by the photo at {PIN}spirational

Here's my card:

I started by stamping the very cute koala hello from tracey hey and then cut a mask to put over it. Then I used a Funky Fossil stencil to create a tartan corner to echo the blanket in the photo.

I removed the mask and added some extra leaves and seed pods. I coloured the koala in mustard tones as the jumper from the photo is very distinctive - I know koalas are grey but as I said that mustard had to be used! I also added some blues as the mugs in the basket also caught my eye.

Supplies:
Stamps: Tracey Hey, Wreath Rascals
Inks: SU, real red, baked brown sugar, pacific point
Colours: Miya oil pencils

I'm so pleased you had time to come visit today, huge thanks.

I stamped in brown and adhered the card front to a brown card base using Papermill Direct card.

Wednesday Words

Today I'm sharing a scrapbook page that I created using the mood board from Scrap The Boys as my starting point.

You have no idea how difficult I found it to include the pink on this page, but I actually am really pleased with how it looks. Just goes to show how challenges expand your horizons!

As I said yesterday I'm on a Tracey Hey kick at the moment and apart from the gloriously cute images she has the sentiments are just awesome. So I started this page by placing the photo and paper stacks and then stamping the words down the right hand side.

I adore the 'Don't grow up' phrase and it's one that I'm always thinking as I look at my grandkids. And the mix of fonts and words for the rest of the list just seemed to match the determined look on his face perfectly.

I also stamped the large and small hearts from the same set before adding in a few stickers to complete the page.

Supplies:
Papers: Papermill Direct 12"x 12" marine blue; Scraps from my stash
Stamps: Tracey Hey, Hashtags
Ink: Versafine Clair, nocturne
Stickers: Vicki Boutin sticker book

I'm so pleased you came to take a look today, thanks so much for your time and company.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

Tuesday Talk

The colours at Less Is More are such a striking mix that I just had to join in and play along.

I'm having a bit of a Tracey Hey fixation at the moment and used a technique I saw her demonstrate on Hochanda recently as the starting point for this card.

I masked off a bit of the card and applied the three colours required using distress ink. By starting on the mask and brushing upwards you get this fade out effect which looks so pretty.

I removed the mask and then stamped the image and greeting on top. I used grey ink as I thought it would be less harsh than the usual black. Loving the idea of the sentiment, so relevant to our strange times when all I hear is news about keeping people and children in support bubbles.

I finished off the card by adding some fuchsia and yellow stripes to the jumper using Miya oil pencils.

Supplies:
Stamps: Tracey Hey, Bubblicious
Ink: SU, smoky slate, melon mambo, daffodil delight
Miya oil pencils

Thanks so much for looking today. It's been great to have your company for a while.

Monday Moments

Hello! I've another card to share today and it's going into the challenge at Time Out Challenges.

Well when I saw the theme it had me stumped for a while, but then I realised that clockwork toys would fit the bill and hey presto here's what I made:

I started by inking through a home made circle stencil with three colours of distress ink. I discovered that by pressing too heavily I was getting those unwanted lines, so in the bin and start again! So it seems you need to be very light handed and get a base colour down first, then you can go in again and again to add depth of colour.

Once my circle of colour was achieved I then stamped the cute rabbit on top and added in a heart and squiggle  too. Finally I stamped the sentiment and matted it onto a white card base.

Supplies:
Stamps: Tracey Hey, Wind Me Up
Ink: Versafine Clair, nocturne; Ranger distress, twisted citron, mermaid lagoon, lucky clover

Huge thanks for dropping by today, it's been fabulous to share some time with you.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

Tuesday Talk

there's a bit of an unusual theme for the current Inkspirational challenge - Sketch. Well I know that doesn't sound that different, but there is the option to choose your own sketch or actually sketch something on your card.

So I surprised myself and actually did sketch one little bit of my card - the mat that the mega cute Tracey Hey elephant is sitting on.

I think I was channelling Elmer with my mat design! I drew the grid first, then stamped the elephant and greeting and finally added the colours using Copic pens.

Supplies:
Stamps: Tracey Hey, Mwah
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Pens: Paperchase, fine liner black; Copic, W0, C0, C1, C3, RV000, R29, R85, Y18, YR04, B04, YG23, BG34

Thanks so much for dropping by my blog today, I always appreciate you taking the time.

Stay safe and keep crafting!
