AAA Cards Game #160 - Maxi white space + optional twist Metallic

A new challenge has just started at AAA Cards and it's theme is to keep as much empty white space as possible on your CAS card.

The sponsor for this challenge is Pink & Main and I've used one of their stamps on my DT card. The twist didn't appeal, but as it's optional there is no obligation to use it.

And we could certainly do with a bit of sunshine here in the UK at the moment! I coloured this little image with Miya oil pencils and just added a bit of shadow round the sentiment too.

Supplies:
Stamps: Pink & Main, Sunny Hello
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Colours: Miya oil pencils

The rest of the AAA Cards DT have also made superb examples of Maxi White Space CAS cards to help you on your way. Check them all out HERE. We also have the multi talented Maria guesting with us and I'm a long time admirer of her style so I strongly advise a visit to her blog - HERE.

Huge thanks for visiting my blog today, it's been fun to have you join me.

And keep crafting!

AAA Cards Game #159 - One Corner + optional twist Love Those Older Supplies

You know how exciting it is when you see new craft supplies and how you wish you could afford to buy them all? But of course you cant'! Well the twist to the new challenge at AAA Cards has a solution to this problem - Love Your Older Supplies!

And I have a mountain of older supplies that I still love and need to be used! So I chose some of my Uniko stamps and dies that haven't seen the light of day for a while and created this One Corner card:

The Pure Florals Chrysanthemum sits beautifully into a corner and looks really fabulous in all colours. I chose some bright reds and oranges to fill in my white embossed stamping.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Pure Florals Chrysanthemum
Ink: SU, old olive; Veramark clear + WOW! white embossing powder; Ranger distress, picked raspberry, spiced marmalade
Die: Uniko, Pure Florals Chrysanthemum
Card: Papermill Direct, Mojito Cocktail double sided pearlescent

Uniko is not only the sponsor for this challenge at AAA Cards, but is also celebrating its 8th birthday with a month long party and multiple ways to win prizes.  Check them all out HERE.

There's also a 10% discount code to use on all purchases throughout February.

The sponsor for this challenge is STAMPlorations and I've use one of their dies for my DT card.

I chose some pink non shed glitter card from Papermill Direct for the die cut hearts and saved the punched out pieces to add to the horizontal strip. I used a stitched die to add the two lines framing the hearts.

Ink: Versafine Clair, nocturne
Dies: STAMPlorations, Clustered Hearts; Paper Smooches, Stitched
Card: Papermill Direct, Non shed glitter

AAA Cards Game #156 - Sketch + optional twist Winter Birthday

It's time for the first 2020 challenge at AAA Cards.

As Craftyscrappers is our sponsor for this challenge I used stamps from one of their digi sets. I didn't go with the optional twist but opted for a more general card that could be used for many occasions.

I added the horizontal strip in photoshop and then added the merboy, fish and greeting from the digi set. Once printed I added colour using Copic pens. For the tail I used the dotted technique that I learnt about on a Copic course. Thought it looked a bit like fish scales.

I used the Beach Waves stencil from A Colorful Life on top of the horizontal strip. I think it gives movement to the card.

Supplies:
Stamps: Craftyscrappers, Waving Hello
Stencil: A Colorful Life, Beach Waves
Ink: Memento, Summer sky
Pens: Copic, E0000, E31, E51, E55, E57, R20, W0, W1, YG11, YG17, BG11, BG15, BG32, BG34

The rest of the AAA Cards DT have made some beautiful cards using the sketch to encourage you to play along and we also have the most amazing Guest Designer, Milka, for this first challenge of the year. I really encourage you to go take a look. You'll find it all HERE.

Huge thanks for finding the time to visit my blog today, I really appreciate it.

AAA Cards #155 - Along The Edge + optional twist Time Travel

The last 2020 challenge at AAA Cards starts today and it's got a bit of a quirky twist!

Mmmm, so what do you think? Well of course there is no obligation to use the twist, it's the Along the Edge which is the compulsory bit. But I like to twist. So I went with the idea of Santa and his reindeer time travelling to deliver the presents all over the world on Christmas Eve.

I used stamps from our sponsor STAMPlaorations and an antler stencil from Funky Fossil.

Supplies:
Stamps: STAMPlorations, Warm Hands, Warm Hearts
Inks: SU, crumb cake; Memento, tuxedo black
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Antler Background
Penbs: Copic, R27, R29, E40, E41, E42, E43, B0000, B000, B00, B01; Wink of Stella, clear
Embellishments: Black & red dots from my stash

There is a complete mix of sample cards from the DT, some using the twist, some not, but all very inspiring and sure to get your brain ticking over. We're also really lucky to have Shery from STAMPlorations and a Guest Designer Coni joining in the fun too. Find them all HERE.

Huge thanks for take a peek at my blog today, I really am most grateful.

AAA Cards - #154 Made In Minutes + optional twist Blending

A new game has just started at AAA Cards and it's ideal for this busy time of year - Made in Minutes!

Here's my card:

I used the fabulous new stamp Background Blocks Scandinavian Christmas from Uniko our sponsor for this challenge. It's an ideal stamp for making quick cards and all I did was emboss it in white and then blend some inks over it.

I matted it in black, stamped a block greeting and used a Papermill Direct pale turquoise card base. I have to admit I think this card is a little short of white space - on this case pale turquoise white space - but there's still just about enough to meet the AAA Cards requirements.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Background Blocks Scandinavian Christmas, Simply Said Blocks Christmas
Inks: Versamark + WOW! opaque bright white embossing powder; Versafine Clair, nocturne; Ranger distress oxide, picked raspberry, mermaid lagoon, twisted citron, peacock feathers
Card: Papermilldirect, pale turquoise & black

The rest of the AAA Cards team have also made quick and easy cards to help get your creative juices flowing - HERE. We've also Bev from Uniko playing along and the amazing Angie from cimbacreativefun joining in as a Guest Designer. Their cards are so inspiring and a welcome break from Christmas. Do pop over and enjoy!

AAA Cards #153 - One Image + optional twist Shimmer

Today I'm sharing the card I made for the new challenge at AAA Cards

The sponsor for this challenge is Funky Fossil and I do have quite a few of their stamps in my stash so naturally I picked one for my card:

This particular stamp - Joy - has the advantage of being both an image and a greeting all in one stamp. Perfect! To include the optional twist of shimmer I added a little Wink of Stella all over the bauble and letters.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Joy
Ink: SU, cherry cobbler
Die: MFT Die-namics, double stitched circles
Embellishments: Wink of Stella, clear

Over on the AAA Cards challenge blog - HERE - you can find oodles of inspiration from the DT and our Guest Designer Joyce. Do go check it all out.

Huge thanks for looking today. It's been a blast to have you visit my blog and you've put a big smile on my face.

AAA Cards - #152 Maxi White Space + optional twist Geometric

Time for the next challenge at AAA Cards. We're after as much white space as possible for this challenge and have added in the optional twist of Geometric.

As Uniko is our sponsor and they have an excellent selection of geometric stamps that's the way I went with my DT card.

I used just one stamp with two colours and stamped the greeting straight on top to leave as much empty white space as I could.

Supplies:
Inks: SU, tempting turquoise, lemon lime twist; Versafine Clair, nocturne

The rest of the AAA Cards DT and our GD Emily have also made wonderful CAS cards to inspire you to play along. Do go and check them all out HERE.

Huge thanks for dropping by today, it's always a pleasure to have your company.

AAA Cards - #151 One Corner + optional twist Colour Palette

I'm here today to tell you all about the new challenge that's started at AAA Cards

The theme is One Corner which means all the focus of the card should be in one corner and of course it also has to be CAS.

There is also an optional twist which is to use at least two colours from the given colour palette. And they're fabulously Halloween colours too.

But I decided not to go down that route and use a simple flower stamp from STAMPlorations, the sponsor for this challenge.

Once I'd stamped the buttercup I then coloured it using Copic pens and added a CUTplorations die cut birthday sentiment. The happy is a Uniko stamp.

Supplies:
Stamps: STAMPlorations, Buttercups & Butterflies; Uniko, Simply Said Blocks
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Pens: Arteza Brush, red, bumblebee yellow, orange, light green
Die: CUTplorations, Birthday

Be sure to pop on over to the AAA Cards blog - HERE - where you'll find lots more inspiration from the DT and our Guest Designer Sandie.

Thanks for looking today, it's been so much fun to have your company for a while.

AAA Cards - #150 One Layer + optional twist Autumn

Well Autumn is definitely making itself felt here in the UK. After a spell of beautiful sunny warm days the wind and rain have now taken over and it's blowing a gale outside! Time to hide in my craft room I think.

So why not join me and create a card for the new challenge at AAA Cards. It has to be a one layer card, but the optional twist is Autumn.

Here's my DT card:

I always go to this stamp set from Precious Remembrance Shop when I want Autumn themed images and words and inked it up in some reds, yellows and browns.

As it's a one layer card I decided to give it extra interest by rounding two of the corners.

Supplies:
Stamps: Precious Remembrance Shop, Fall Colors
Inks: SU, crushed curry, pumpkin pie, baked brown sugar; Memento, lady bug
Punch: Xcut, corner rounder

I have to tell you the AAA Cards DT have really outdone themselves with inspiration cards for this challenge. Do pop on over and take a look - HERE. And we've the amazingly talented Joy joining us again as our Guest Designer. Her card is just CAS perfection!

Thanks so much for dropping by today, your visit is greatly appreciated.

AAA Cards - #149 Up To One Third + optional twist An Inlaid Die

Time for a new game at AAA Cards. The theme is a classic for CAS cards - to use only up to one third of the card front.

My card uses products from Funky fossil - the sponsor of this challenge - but not the optional twist of an inlaid die

I started my card by placing the Shooting Star stencil so that it would only cover one third of my card front and inked through it in some warm colours of oxide ink. I then stamped the sleepy fox and greeting on top.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, The Quick Brown Fox
Inks: SU, baked brown sugar; Ranger distress oxide, squeezed lemonade, candied apple
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Shooting Star
Pen: Copic, E40

How will you interpret this theme? Well if you need some more inspiration why not pop over to the AAA Cards Challenge blog and check out all the DT cards and also our very talented Guest Designer Joy's card too - HERE. You won't be disappointed.

Huge thanks for your time today and I really look forward to seeing all your CAS cards filling our gallery.

AAA Cards - #148 Sketch + optional twist Animals

It's time for a new challenge at AAA Cards and this time there is a very CAS sketch for you to use as well as the optional twist of Animals if that appeals.

I've used one of the cute merfolk from Craftyscrappers new digital stamp sets for my card - does that count as an animal?

I separated the digi stamps in photoshop to achieve the look I wanted and then simply printed it out and coloured using Promarkers. I added a black line to outline the strip as the edges were a bit blurry and not as crisp as I wanted.

I used the colourless blender to get some texture onto the background strip and darker shades on the merboy to give the impression of scales and hair strands. I also glittered up the tail and arms with Wink of Stella.

Supplies:
Stamps: Craftyscrappers, Waving Hello digi
Pens: Copic, E0000, E00, YO2, Y13, Y18, R20, B02, B04, B14, BG32, BG34, colorless blender; Wink of Stella, clear
Embellishments: clear gems

So now it's over to you. How will you use the sketch and will the optional animal twist appear on your CAS card?  There's a chance to win two digital stamp sets from Craftyscrappers with this challenge so definitely worth a go!

Pop on over to the AAA Cards blog for much more DT inspiration and we also have the talented Laura from soulshinedesigns joining us as our Guest Designer.

Thanks for your time today, I really appreciate your visit.

And keep crafting!
