Friday Focus

Today I'm playing along with the stencil challenge at CAS Mix Up

No prizes for guessing which company's stencil I chose - Funky Fossil of course!

And isn't this In The Tropics a stunner of a stencil? It looked pretty fantastic just with the inking, but adding the traced outline really seems to have given it an extra bit of va-va-boom!

I used two shades of distress oxide for the flowers and two for the leaves, but of course because of the unique blending of the oxides it looks like many more colours. I then picked an orange and green Miya oi pencil and traced round the edges.

I matted it onto a white card base and finished off with a greeting from the Beautiful Inside and Out stamp set.

Supplies:
Inks: Ranger distress oxide, picked raspberry, squeezed lemonade, twisted citron, pine needles
Colours : Miya oil pencils

Huge thanks for spending some of your precious time looking at my blog today. I'm so pleased to have had your company.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

  1. Gorgeous Distress Oxide inks stenciled Tropics flowers, Jane. I Loved how you traced your image with oil colored pencils. I have not tried using tone on tone pencil colors for tracing. I love your effect. Subtle, yet still added a wonderful detail to add beauty and depth to your flowers. Beautiful font on your added sentiment too. TFS and so pleased you joined us at CAS Mix Up Stencil Tracing Challenge. Love and Hugs...Nancy
