AAA Cards Game #34

So this fortnight at AAA Cards we want it to rain! Well not literally, but on your cards - best place for it really. And since the theme is rain some watercolouring would be good too.

I couldn't resist this little fellow enjoying the rain from LOTV and the sentiment is really cute too. I used an acrylic block as a paint pallette and one of those water brushes to spread the colour.

Now watercolouring is not one of my favourite things - such a bummer that it's still so popular - but I do love how a tiny bit of water changes the colours so dramatically.

I used my Sakura gelly rol pens to highlight the raindrops and make them sparkle. And a strip of solid colour and a trio of pearls down the left just added a bit of oomph.

Supplies:
Stamp: LOTV, April Showers
Inks: SU,chocolate chip, pool party, pistachio pudding
Die: Paper Smooches, stitched
Embellishments:The Hobby House, chocolate heaven pearls

Now I know you're all going to enjoy this challenge, we always get a bumper crop when we ask for watercolouring. So I'm looking forward to seeing what you create and will try to learn rather than get downheartened.

So to keep my spirits up amongst all this rain I'm also sharing my February three photos of things that made me smile.

1: This photo arrived in my inbox of my two grandsons enjoying a bit of sunshine at half term in Tenerife. Spot the genuine fake designer watches bought from a street vendor - bit of a tradition to do this whilst on holiday  - and the orange loving boy! Blogged here

2: The sun was shining so I got out and did a bit of tidying and weeding in the garden. And look what I found after clearing a patch of deadwood.

3: This poster seen on facebook really made me smile because this is just about exactly what I have been doing on many dismal dreary February afternoons.

Thanks for visiting today. And keep crafting!

  2. Great watercolouring using such a cute stamp - I absolutely adore this card! Oh - and I am so jealous that you already have flowers in your garden - we still have several feet of snow :)

  4. Love your little critter and your watercoloring is wonderful. The strip of color makes the image stand out beautifully. The stitched left borders and the trio of pearls are the perfect embellishments. It is lovely to be on this DT with you. Thanks for answering my timing question.

  5. The image on your card is adorable and your water coloring is "just right"! Lots of detail make this card ao sweet. I wish I could do a bit of gardening, but I'm not sure where the garden is under the mounds of snow!
