Today I'm sharing a non-Christmas card - how bold is that! It's for the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge and uses their sketch.
Here's my card:
I used a technique for using brushos with a stencil that I learnt at the Happy Little Stampers retreat that I went to in November. - I nearly wrote earlier this month and then realised today is the 1st December. Oh my how ridiculously close is Christmas getting!
Anyways back to that technique. First you place the stencil, then scatter on some brusho, then spritz with water and quickly lift the stencil. This is the negative print using up all the left over ink on the stencil. Pretty spectacular effect and I actually was able to take a couple more prints too, so it doesn't waste those inks at all.
The die cut 'HAPPY' is cut several times and the 'Birthday' is heat embossed and really shines.
Supplies:
Stamps: HLS, Bold Birthday Sentiments
Die: MFT Die-namics, Celebrate
Stencil: Creat a Smile, Focal Point
Inks: Brusho, ultra marine, turquoise; Versamark clear + Ranger superfine black embossing powder
Thanks so much for looking today, it's been great having your company. And keep crafting!
Gorgeous card, Jane. Great to see using the Brushos in such a fabulous way! x
