I used the stencil for my first card and paired it up with the wonderful BIG & BOLD Happy from yesterday's introduction.
I used the stencil with a couple of bottles of acrylic spray paint - a bargain buy from Lidyl. Love how the colours mixed and the splattery look achieved.
I stamped the happy in red and then die cut it with the matching die and used the larger die to shadow matt it to black card stock. I finished off by stamping the rest of the greeting and matting the whole thing onto a black card base.
Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, BIG & BOLD Happy
Ink: Versafine Clair, nocturne; CreaBox Acrylic Spray, yellow & red; SU, real red
Stencil: Uniko, Abstract Triangles
My next card also uses the stencil and the a wordy sentiment from Birthday Wishes.
The blue and green background was created using distress ink and salt on water colour card stock. Once dry I die cut it using a stitched rectangle and then placed the stencil over and drew round the triangles with a fine sharpie pen - just how we used to use stencils back in my school days!
Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Birthday Wishes
Inks: Ranger distress, mermaid lagoon, lucky clover; Versafine Clair, nocturne
Stencil: uniko, Abstract Triangles
Die: MFT Die-namics, double stitched rectangles

Loving the spray & splattering, plus the colours are so beautifully vibrant. You made me chuckle about how stencils were used back in the day! Genius and creative use of the stencil and a wonderful showcase. Must remeber the salt water technique too, love the effect. Thank you so much for your inspiration. Hugs Bev x
ReplyDeleteTwo very cool techniques to showcase the stencil; techniques that really enhance the 'abstract' nature of the design! Love these!!
