Sketchy Boards Guest Designer

I'm delighted to be here today guesting with Sketchy Boards for their December Challenge.

I used a photo from last Christmas for this page:

I started by choosing papers in Christmas greens and placing the horizontal background strips and the vertical chevron strips. I then used photoshop to make my photograph circular and die cut it with a stitched die. I also cut the outer circular frame by using two different sized circular dies.

Once that was all stuck down I added the title and journalling strips and then got to work on the embellishments stacks. I used a PL card from my dear Australian friend Helen as the basis for the left hand stack and simply added some fishtail banners. I stamped and die cut the holly and pine twig using Uniko's Winter Foliage collection.

I finished off with some wooden embellishments and my usual trios of enamel dots.

Supplies:
Papers: Bazzil Basics, clover leaf & red; echo park, Celebrate Christmas &  Magical Adventure; Crate Paper, Sunny Days
Alphas: Christmas  a gift from a crafty friend; Simple Stories, Destinations
Stamps: Uniko, Winter Foliage
Inks: SU, old olove, ral red
Dies: Uniko, Winter Foliage, M FT Die-namics, stitched fishtail flags, stitched jumbo fishtail banner
Embellishments & stickers: MME, wood shapes & enamel dots; Paperchase, puffy hearts; Elle's Studio, puffy hearts; Washi from my stash; Topper, a gift from a PL friend

Huge thanks for looking today, I'm so appreciative of you spending some time here at my blog.

Saturday Slot

Today I'm sharing a scrapbook page that I created using the sketch and mood board from the Sketchy Boards fb group.

I was taken by the stripy background and the circular photos.

I used Photoshop Elements to turn my photos into circles and then use a die to cut them out. I adhered them to the horizontal strip and placed it onto the background paper and repeatedly stamped the words just above.

I die cut some fishtail flags and then stitched them down using my mini sewing machine. I should have drawn lines to keep my stitching straight! I used the title words to try to disguise their crookedness.

As the inspiration photo was of cogs and gears I die cut some to hang on the bottom of the stitched lines.

Supplies:
Papers: Photoplay, Snuggle Up; Echo Park, A Boy's Life; Graphic 45, Floral shoppe
Alphas: AC thickers, Hugs
Dies: Spellbinders, Sprightly Sprockets; Xcut, Spiro cirlces MFT Die-namics, stitched jumbo fishtail banners
Stamp: Technique Tuesday, Life in Pictures
Ink: Versafine Clair, nocturne
Embellishments: Paperchase, puffy hearts

Thanks for looking today, I always enjoy having a bit of company.

And keep crafting!

Tuesday Talk

Another scrapbook page today. This time I used the theme and sketch from Sketchy Boards facebook group as my starting point.

Well what could be more appropriate than boys? And of course all of mine are stars! Just look at what they've been up to!

And it was an exceptionally hot day! I very nearly joined in myself - now that would have made for an interesting page!

I so wanted to use this journalling card from the Echo Park Teen Spirit pack, but had to trim it down and split it into two to make it work for this photo and sketch.

The large star was cut using my Silhouette Cameo - one of my more successful cuts and I found lots of smaller stars lurking in my stash as well as the odd word and phrase sticker.

Supplies:
Papers: Echo Park, Teen spirit
Alphas: Simply Creative Chipboard; MAMBI
Stickers: Paperchase, puffy stars; Ali Edwards labels; MAMBI washi; Heidi Swapp, Simple Stories #Whatever; Cosmo Cricket

I'm delighted that you found your way to my blog today. Thanks so much for looking.

And keep crafting!

Sunday Spot

Another scrapbook page to share today. This time it  uses the sketch from the facebook group Sketchy Boards.

As soon as I saw all the rosettes and banner flags on the sketch I knew it would be perfect for my grandson's school Sports Day photos.

I started by using a the Spatter stencil from A Colorful Life, moving it around fairly randomly to get the effect I was after. The photos were made into circles in Photoshop and I matted them onto black die cuts to ensure they remained the main focal point of what was going to be a busy page. I then die cut some extra circles and added them to the page.

A title was added using thickers and I found three suitable quotations to place under. I then got busy adding all those little extras like stickers, enamel dots and stars. No journalling on this page, I thought the photos pretty well spoke for themselves.

Supplies:
Papers: AC kraft card stock; Shimelle, Go Now Go; scraps from my stash
Stencil: A Colorful Life, Spatter
Inl: Ranger distress, chipped sapphire
Alphas: Dear Lizzy, woodland thickers
Dies: Xcut, spiro circles; Spellbinders, standard circles small
Stickers: Tim Holtz, small talk; Ppaerchase, puffy stars; MME, woode shapes & enamel dots; Maggie Holmes sticker book.

Thursday Thoughts

Today I'm sharing a page I created using the sketch from the facebook group Sketchy Boards.

The colours and the stencilled elements are a bit of a nod to the left hand image from the graphic, but it was really the sketch that most inspired me.

I've had this sheet of background paper in my stash like for ever, but have finally found a good use for it. I added a couple of areas of stencilled pattern using A Colorful Life Atomic Starbursts and then used a silhouette cut file for the circles.

I added two areas of embellishment stacks to and added quite a lot of journalling too.

The title was created using Silhouette software and then cut in white card stock.

Supplies:
Stencil: A Colorful Life, Atomic Starbursts
Ink: Ranger distress, wilted violet
Stickers: MAMBI puffy; Paperchase, puffy heartts; Simple Stories, lif In Color clear stickers; Funny Sticker world, enamel hearts; Tim Holtz Idea-ology small talk; Vicki boutin sticker book; YNS Gumdrops, cosmic crush
