AAA Cards #155 - Along The Edge + optional twist Time Travel

The last 2020 challenge at AAA Cards starts today and it's got a bit of a quirky twist!

Mmmm, so what do you think? Well of course there is no obligation to use the twist, it's the Along the Edge which is the compulsory bit. But I like to twist. So I went with the idea of Santa and his reindeer time travelling to deliver the presents all over the world on Christmas Eve.

I used stamps from our sponsor STAMPlaorations and an antler stencil from Funky Fossil.

Supplies:
Stamps: STAMPlorations, Warm Hands, Warm Hearts
Inks: SU, crumb cake; Memento, tuxedo black
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Antler Background
Penbs: Copic, R27, R29, E40, E41, E42, E43, B0000, B000, B00, B01; Wink of Stella, clear
Embellishments: Black & red dots from my stash

There is a complete mix of sample cards from the DT, some using the twist, some not, but all very inspiring and sure to get your brain ticking over. We're also really lucky to have Shery from STAMPlorations and a Guest Designer Coni joining in the fun too. Find them all HERE.

Huge thanks for take a peek at my blog today, I really am most grateful.

And keep crafting!

Saturday Slot

Today I'm sharing a card I created for the challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches.

It's their 7th birthday - how fabulous is that? Huge congratulations got to the team for keeping a weekly challenge running for such a long time, no mean feat I can tell you!

Some fantastic Christmassy colours for this challenge:

Having learnt my lesson about the thickness of cards for mailing I went with a thin matted card and used the beautiful Rustic Wreath stamp from Uniko. I had to substitute a couple of the colours, crushed curry for the gold and tranquil tide for shaded spruce.

Supplies:
Inks: SU, cherry cobbler, crushed curry, tranquil tide

Huge thanks for looking today, I really appreciate you taking the time.

And keep crafting!

Friday Focus

Today it's a scrapbook page and is for the challenge at Kraft Plus. It's a sketch plus some inspiration photos and has the title Ho Ho Ho.

Well although it says there is no need to go with a Christmas layout mine is - sort of. The photos are of my youngest grandson trying to show me, in the unique way of a one year old, what was inside the first window of his Playmobil Advent calendar. So cute!

I matched my paper choices to the colours of the photos rather than the Christmas theme and built up a grid using 2" squares. I then added some machine stitching just outside the edges.

Once the photos were stuck in position I then got creative with adding embellishments, words and stickers. And my title reads straight into the journalling. I flicked some watered down white ink top left and bottom right and used a stencil to get some watery snowflakes there too.

Supplies:
Ppaers: SC kraft card; Polkadoodles, Peeling Paint; SU, Feels Like Frost; scraps from my stash
Alphas: Pink Fresh Studio, Just a Little Lovely; Echo Park, Winter Park
Dies: Lawn Fawn, outside in hearts
Stencil: Uniko, Let It Snow
Ink: SU, whisper white
Stickers: Doodlebug Design Inc, Dragons Tails; Bella Blvd, Secrets of the Sea; Pinkfrsh Studio, Every Day Musings

Thanks so much for your time today, I'm so pleased you came to visit my blog.

And keep crafting!

Papermill Direct DT Inspiration - Daily December Album The Easy Way

Hey!

I'm up on the Papermilldirect blog today with an easy way to create a daily December album.

Come on over and take a look - HERE.

And you know those days when you think well nothing's happened so what will I put in? Here's a list of ideas you could try:

  • Ask your children, grandchildren, family or friends what they love most about Christmas
  • A list of presents to buy
  • Christmas food favourites
  • Christmas song favourites
  • Best ever Christmas
  • A new tree ornament or a favourite old tree ornament
  • Real or artificial tree opinions
  • Wish list for the perfect Christmas
  • Who would you most like to share Christmas with - could be a celebrity, family member or friend from now or the past
  • Christmas decorations in a town near you
  • Christmas lights around your village/town/city
  • A shop window or display that's caught your eye
  • Traditions in your family or a new idea you'd like to become a tradition
  • What's on top of your tree?
  • The weather - will there be snow this year?
  • Christmas silliness - jumpers, hats earrings
  • Then and now

Well hopefully that should keep you going for a while!
