Wednesday Words

Today I'm sharing a card I made for the photo challenge at Inkspirational. It's challenge #200 for them - incredible achievement and definitely something to celebrate!

Here's how it inspired me:

I used Cosmic Shimmer polish to ink through the Funky Fossil Circle Burst stencil onto black card. And it looks really awesome and changes colour as the light catches it. Sadly this is not reflected in my photographs.

I then die cut the celebrate in black and white card. I swished some more polish over both of them and layered them up onto a black card strip. I used glitter card as a mat behind the stencilled panel and a plain black card base.

Tuesday Talk

When I went looking for a birthday card the other day I discovered I was running low, so the code word at Addicted to CAS was very timely!

I also want to wish them a very happy 7th birthday - what an amazing milestone to have reached in this crazy craft challenge community!

Here's my card:

I chose one of the Chubby Unicorn stamps from Funky Fossil and coloured it up using Copic pens. I was looking for a more unusual colour combo so instead of my usual pink plus purple I went with pink plus orange.

Monday Moment

Today I'm using one of the Funky Fossil images I coloured for the Daily Marker 30 Day challenge on a card inspired by the photo prompt at Time Out.

Here's how it inspired me:

The plaid cushions were the first thing that jumped out at me so I die cut a couple of stitched squares from tartan paper. I then stamped and die cut the Noel greeting from Fa La La and popped the little deer from Woodland Wishes onto pads before adding to another die cut square.

I then assembled my card in a grid design as it reminded me of the way the cushions were stacked in the photo. And I always think there is something very pleasing about the look of grids.

Sunday Slot

Today I'm playing along at CAS Christmas where the theme is Warm & Cosy.

And big sloppy jumpers jumped straight into my head along with this Clearly Besotted stamp set.

I coloured up this little bear as part of the Instagram Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge using my Prismacolor pencils. I also used a scrap of the stencilled card that was left over from yesterday's card.

Saturday Slot

You know how it is when you find out about a challenge that you probably should have discovered a while back? Well that's how I feel about the Christmas Kickstart Challenge - how have I missed it?

Challenge #23 - SNOW!

So I'm putting things right today and I've made a card for their November Challenge:

Snow just had to be an opportunity to get out that Uniko stencil and stamps along with their new snow die. And I know snow is white but I couldn't resist my go to purples combined with aquas.

I really love how die cuts seem to stand proud and have a bit of a 3D look.

Friday Focus

Today I'm sharing a card I created using the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches.

Here's my card with apologies for the poor lighting:

I started by stamping the large butterfly from Funky Fossil's Butterfly Wishes and then masking it off. I also masked off a diamond shape and then applied two colours of distress oxide inks.

I finished off the card by stamping a greeting from Funky Fossil's The Quick Brown Fox and matting it onto a white card base.

Thursday Thoughts

Today i'm sharing a scrapbook page I created using the sketch from Let's Get Sketchy.

Once I'd selected the photos I wanted to use I picked a bright colourful background paper that seemed to reflect the fun of the photos.

I then layered up the photos with some white card to help them pop and added a horizontal strip behind them. I use some leftover scraps from the same paper for the two corner triangles.

The final part of the process was to add stickers, words and die cuts in a diagonal line from the top left to bottom right to guide the eye across and down the page.
