Funky Fossil June Pre-Release Peeks - Geo Bugs

It's day 2 of the peeks at the new June release from Funky Fossil. If you loved the Bee Geometric set from last month's release then today's peek is going to be right up your street.

My first card is in my favourite CAS style and use both the new stamp set and a matching stencil from Funky Fossil - Honeycomb Stitches.

I kept my colour to just black and yellow and used a favourite corner placement leaving a good half of this CAS card as empty white space.

Supplies:
Stamps – Geo Bugs
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne; Ranger distress, mustard seed
Miya oil pencils; Wink of Stella clear

My next card uses the same stamp from the set and another Funky Fossil stencil - Crackle Background. I added three colours but still kept the overall look very CAS.

Using a stencil to add background colour and then simply stamping an image on the top is becoming one of my favourite ways to create cards.

Supplies:
Stamps – Geo Bugs
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne; Ranger distress, picked raspberry, peacock feathers, mustard seed

I'm finishing up today with another card that I think fits the CAS genre using the beetle stamps from the set.

Do you ever get an idea in your head that just won't go away? Well this happened when I first saw these beetles. I just kept seeing the Union Jack flag! So I caved in and coloured them in red and blue - a bit of a quirky and fun thing to do I know.

Supplies:
Stamps – Geo Bugs
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Pens: Copic, R27, B29

That's today's shares all done and dusted. Tomorrow there will be another peek - and it's a really fun set! See you then.

Thanks so much for dropping by today, I really appreciate you taking the time.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

Funky Fossil June Pre-Release Peeks - Find Your Rainbow & Small Print

YAY! I'm really excited to be here today to show you the first of the peeks at Funky Fossil's new June release - Find Your Rainbow and Small Print.

The Find Your Rainbow stamps are amazing and perfect for all kinds of projects and that Small Print set - well I just can't stop using it. It's all over my recent scrapbook pages and I can't get enough of it!

I wanted to combine both sets for my first share and made a gift card/money wallet.

And have you seen the awesome In To The Blue paper pad now available in the Funky Fossil store - 24 6"x 6" sheets for only £6.50. Apart from the really useful and gorgeous colours and designs in the pad the papers are the best quality I've ever used. They feel a little like yupo paper and stamp, heat emboss and ink up beautifully.

The card front is above and the inside without the money is below. I simply folded up the bottom third of the paper, trimmed the edges for a neater fit when closed and then used double sided tape to adhere them.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Find Your Rainbow, Small Print
Inks: Versafine Calir, nocturne; Memento, cantaloupe, rose bud, bahama blue
Paper: Funky Fossil, In To the Blue

And next my favourite CAS style:

There are so many different stamps in the Find Your Rainbow set - the combinations are endless.

Supplies:
Stamps – Find Your Rainbow
Inks: Versfaine Clair, nocturne; Memento, dandelion, tangelo, summer sky, London fog
Die: Pretty Pink Posh, Window Frames

And another pretty card using a different combination and a die cut shape that echoes the rainbow's curve.

I chose some happy colours and one of the positive sentiments from the set.

Supplies:
Stamps – Find Your Rainbow
Inks: Memento, lady bug, dandelion, bamboo leaves, bahama blue, grape jelly, lilac posies, London fog; Versafine Clair, nocturne

And now for something completely different.....

..... a set of three atc cards. I've had the background paper inked up and lurking in my stash for some time and thought the more dramatic colours would suit the stamps perfectly in the smaller doses an atc gives.

I added an MDF mini to each card - also from the Funky Fossil shop and only £4.99 for 50!

Supplies:
Stamps – Find Your Rainbow
Inks: Brusho, crimson, yellow, brilliant red; Versfine Clair, nocturne

So that's today's peeks all wrapped up. You've now got three more days of peeks and then shopping day - I mean release day -  is Saturday 27th. Sarah will also be on Hochanda at 3.00pm on Saturday 27th. You'll not want to miss that so best put it in your diaries!

Thanks so much for your time today, I really hope you've enjoyed the peeks. See you tomorrow for the next set!

AAA Cards Game #168 - One Corner + optional twist Masking

It's time for a new challenge over at AAA Cards and its theme is One Corner - a great favourite for CAS card designs.

As CAS-ual Fridays is the sponsor for this challenge, with a $20 gift certificate as their prize, I used one of  their beautiful flower images from the Mon Ami set.

And guess what? Yep I coloured it in purple!

Supplies:
Stamps: CAS-ual Fridays, Mon Ami
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Pens: Copic, E50, V12, V15, C0, BG32

The optional twist for this challenge is to use masking, which I obviously didn't do. So if you'd like to see some wonderfully inspiring examples of the main theme and the optional twist please pop on over to AAA Cards. The DT and Guest Designer Milka have created awesome CAS cards, you'll not be disappointed.

Thanks so much for dropping by today. I always enjoy your company and appreciate you taking the time.

White With 1 Facebook Cyber Crop 3

The last of the three Cyber Crop Challenge at White With 1 starts today and of course I've joined in and played along!

Image may contain: stripes, text that says "Cyber Crop 19 to 21 JUNE"  Image may contain: 5 people

Today's challenge was set by DT Tracey:

I was inspired by the background of my photos, so the challenge for you is to be inspired by one colour from your photo background and use just that colour! (various shades and hues are allowed) But wait there is more the extra criteria are:
* at least 3 or more photos
* use an embellishment that doesn't really "go" with the theme of your layout (I used flowers on a beach themed layout)
* use a doily or mixed media (or both, like me)

Here's my take:

Initially I thought to go with the blues from the sky, but when I pulled out some papers the photos seemed to disappear into them. So I tried out some oranges picking up on the colour from the heather scrub in the main photo and this complementary colour worked so much better and made the pics really pop.

I've used 5 photos and my embellishments that don't really go with the theme are the fish, hermit crab and wax crayon. I added quite a bit of stamping, both words and splatters, as my extra mixed media element.

Supplies:
Papers: Lilybeedesigns, Cartwheels; Graphic 45, Fairie Dust; scraps from my stash
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Small Print, Distressed Elements; SU, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Memento, potters clay
Embellishments: Paperchase, puffy hearts; Shimelle, Box of Crayons; Bella Blvd, Secrets of the Sea; Simple Stories, sunshine & Happiness

I'm really grateful for your time today, thanks so much for visiting my blog.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

White With 1 Facebook Cyber Crop 2

Today I'm sharing a scrapbook page I made for the White With 1 facebook Cyber Crop Challenges that are going on all weekend.

Image may contain: stripes, text that says "Cyber Crop 19 to 21 JUNE"

Today's challenge is set by DT member Annemarie:

At the beginning of this year I made a promise to myself to use up scraps from various paper collections.
I am calling my challenge "SCRAP YOUR SCRAPS FROM YOUR STASH"
You must use a 12x12 white cardstock for your background.
Then use the following:
1 x colour of your choice
2x flower clusters
3x (or more) pearls/sequins/enamel dots
4x patterned papers in the same colour tones

Here's my take on the challenge:

First of all I collected together the required elements for the challenge.

I chose the extra colour as it was very much in evidence in the photo and i nearly always match the photo colours to my page colours.

I punched a stack of flowers from white card to build up my two clusters. I also stamped a few words repeatedly across the page using a new Funky Fossil stamp set due to be released later this month.

I used the enamel dots from the required list in the middle of my flowers and then added extra stars and heart stickers around my page.

Supplies:
Papers; all scraps from my stash
Stamps: Funky fossil, Small Print
Ink: SU, old olive
Die: MFT Die-namics, stitched jumbo fishtail banners
Punches: Martha Stewart & Dovecraft
Embellishments: Altenew enamel dots; Paperchase puffy stars and hearts; Elle's Studio puffy hearts; Jillibean Soup labels
Alphas: Pinkfresh Studio, Juat a Little Lovely; Lilybee design

Huge thanks for looking today, I'm so pleased you came for a visit.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

White With 1 Facebook Cyber Crop 1

Today I'm sharing a scrapbook page I made for the White With 1 facebook Cyber Crop Challenges that are going on all weekend.

Today's challenge is set by DT member Brenda:

Image may contain: stripes, text that says "Cyber Crop 19 to 21 JUNE"

To join in and have a chance at winning my prize you need to do the following.... Use my layout as a sketch. You must use the colours white and purple. A photo no bigger than 3X4. 1 stencil, 2 fussy cuts and 3 patterned papers. If you wish to use other things on your page like I have with the flowers and hearts that is up to you.

Well purple! You just knew i was going to play along! Here's my page:

Bet you guessed who the subject of the photo would be too! Just look at her face! All natural colours I was told - beetroot and blackcurrant, and a funny substitute for the milk lollies they had ordered in their inline grocery shop.

I used my three patterned papers for the banners and cut two flower clusters from a whole sheet of 12" x 12" paper as my fussy cuts. The stencil is Funky Fossil's Moroccan Mandela, which I simply moved around to cover the area I needed.

Supplies:
Papers: First Edition, Wild Flower; Polkadoodles, Peeling Paint; Pinkfresh Studio, Just a Little Lovely
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Small Print - release date 27th June
Inks: Memento, lulu lavender, grape jelly
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Moroccan Mandela
Die: MFT Die-namics, stitched fishtail flag stax
Stickers: Pinkfresh Studio, Just a Little Lovely; Paperchase, puffy hearts; Cocoa Vanilla Midnight; YNS Gumdrops, cosmic crush

I hope you'll pop over to the White With 1 facebook page and join in with this Cyber Crop. You have until midnight (Australian time) on 26th June to get your page created and linked up.

Thanks so much for your time today, I've really enjoyed having your company.

Stay safe and keep crafting!
