CAS Colours & Sketches #159

A new month and a new hostess, but the same fabulous challenges at CAS Colours & Sketches! We're kicking off with a colour challenge and don't you just love these pretty colours chosen by Stef?

Here's my sample card which I'm hoping may just inspire you enough to join in yourself.

I started by smooshing a pink pirouette splodgy background and then used a stencil to add some pumpkin pie round the edges. Next I stamped the large butterfly using melon mambo - which just has to be one of my all time favourite ink colours!

I'm thinking maybe I might use this card on a scrapbook page and that led my choice of sentiment. And butterflies are pretty incredible anyway.

Stamps:Uniko, English Country Gareden - Butterflies; Technique Tuesday, Incredible by Ali Edwards
Inks: SU, pumpkin pie, pink pirouette, melon mambo
Stencil: Memory Box, texture mesh
Punch: Xcut, corner rounder
Embellishments: Ppaermania, adhesive pearls

So of you go now to soak up all the DT deliciousness over at CAS Colours & Sketches and then raid your craft stash and get creating!

Thanks for visiting today, your time is much appreciated.  And keep crafting!

  1. Love the grunge CAS style and the butterfly looks so pretty against it in those colours. Beautifully done. Hugs Bev x

  2. Love the idea of smooshing the background first and then layering over it with the stencil, very creative x

  3. Love all the inky techniques going on here Jane. I've just acquired the ECG Butterfly stamp and am looking forward to using it! Stef x

  4. I love Malon Mambo too! And I love your card. That one rounded corner gives it such an awesome finishing touch. Caro x

  5. Awesome card! I love the texture and the contrast between the organic smooshed background with the geometric stencil!

  6. The card is pretty incredible too! It's a great combination of the challenge colours. Liz x

  7. Your smooshed background turned out much better than my attempts (which have been added to the recycling bin rather than made into cards)! It's a lovely background for the pretty butterfly. And hey, I have that sentiment stamp set, too! :)

  8. Grunge for CAS, I love it. Great way to showcase the colours
    Louise xx
