A new challenge at The Male Room begins today and the theme is ORIENTAL.
Well that theme had me stumped for a while. I don't have any oriental stamps and I couldn't get my head around it needing to be a male themed oriental card anyway. Then I had a blast from the past and remembered teaching about the Chinese New Year and all the animals involved in the story and I do have animal stamps!
So this year I believe it's the turn of the monkey, so that's what I went with. I chose lush reds and golds as my colour scheme - seem to rememebr they are considered happy colours.
I embossed the gold circle stamps and coloured in the monkey using promarkers.
Supplies:
Stamps: Clearly Besotted, Sunburst, Wild thing
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black; SU, real red; Versamark
Embossing: Personal Impressions, mirror gold
Promarkers: vanilla, mustard, burnt orange, caramel, umber
Go take a look at the inspiring cards of my team mates at The Male Room, clever aren't they?
Thanks for your visit today, your time is much appreciated. And keep crafting!
How cute!! LOVE the monkey!!
ReplyDeleteSuper duper card! Love the cheeky monkey, so clever to think of using the Chinese calendar. I just love those circle stamps too. Red and gold, a very oriental colour combo.

Brilliant! I think the little monkey is perfect for an oriental themed card and the colours are fab. Love the way you've got him swinging through the circles. xxxx
ReplyDeleteThis is very clever Jane, it looks great. Lucky colours and a monkey, what more do you need?!
