Here's my card:
I started the card by selecting the patterned paper and the stamp I wanted to use. The paper then dictated the colours for the elf and gifts.
I wanted the paper to shine out, but at the same time keep my card CAS. So I die cut a circle from a white mat and hand cut the elf to pop just above the bottom. He's so cute pulling his sledge of gifts.

Stamps: Clearly Besotted, Little Elves
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Paper: Lawn Fawn, Beachside 6x6
Promarkers: mustard, blush, dusky pink, poppy, cool aqua, azure
Die: spellbinders, standard circles small
