Thursday Thoughts

An interesting theme at Less is More this week - geometric.

http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.co.uk/2017/05/challenge-329-geometric.html
So off I went to remind myself of suitable stamps in my stash and came up with this card:

I'm not sure if this particular shape has a name other than irregular, but I think it's fun and reminds me of trellis patterns seen on room dividers or maybe Moroccan buildings.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Background Builders Lattice, All Occasion Sentiments #1
Ink: Kaleidacolor, Creole Spice; Versamark, clear
Embossing: Ranger Superfine, white

Short and sweet today, so I haven't used up too much of your time. Thanks for popping in and keep crafting!

The Male Room - #61 Die Cuts

A really fabulous theme for the new challenge at The Male Room - Die Cuts. And who doesn't have a few of these tucked away in their stash?

http://themaleroomchallengeblog.blogspot.com/2017/05/challenge-61-stash.html

I wanted to make use of a Spellbinders set of dies I've had for ever and don't get out often enough, so on went the thinking cap and this is what I came up with:

I prepared a watercoloured card in some beautiful blues and left it to dry. While waiting I cracked on and prepared the die cut amazing by die cutting it once in black and several more times in white to make it really pop form the card. I also stamped and die cut the little stitched circle which got popped up on a foam pad.

Supplies:
Dies: Spellbinders, Sprightly Sprockets; CURplorations, amazing; MFT Die-namics, inside/out circles
Stamp: Stamplorations, bold sentiments
Inks: Ranger distress, meramid lagoon, peacock feathers, cracked pistachio, blueprint sketch; Versafine, onyx black

Well that's me done for today! I just need to remind you to go feast your eyes on what the rest of The Male Room's DT have created using dies - HERE - and then I'll bid you good-bye.

Thanks for visiting and keep crafting!

Tuesday Talk

Today I'm sharing a card I made to enter the challenge at Time Out. They're wanting a card that CASEs the wonderful Hannelie's card, who could resist this?!!

Grab Our Badge!

So here's what i came up with:

I used the fabulous new Background Blocks Horizontal Stripes from Uniko and inked it up in colours to match Hannelie's background.

I love the look of Hannelie's plain black and white flowers, but as I had a congratulations card in mind I chose the splat from Uniko and a YOU DID IT sentiment.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Background Blocks Horizontal Stripes, Explosion & Explosion Additions
Inks: Ranger distress, mustard seed, spiced marmalade; Adirondack, red pepper

Thanks so much for looking today, hope to see you again soon.  And keep crafting!

Monday Moments

Today's card is super CAS and quick to make. I'm entering it into both the Cutplorations challenge and the Stamplorations CAS Card Challenge.

http://stamplorations.blogspot.co.uk/2017/05/cutplorations-may-challenge.html            http://stamplorations.blogspot.co.uk/2017/05/cas-challenge-may.html

Here's my card:

I love the bleeding heart flowers from the inspiration photo and have a couple of plants in my own garden. So that was my starting point and influenced my choice of die. The colours were a no brainer for me - pinks and purples are my favourites and definitely feminine in my opinion.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, sentiments from Pure Floral Lily
Ink: Kaleidacolor, Berry Bliss
Die: Cutplorations, Clustered Hearts

Thanks for joining me on my blog today, it was great to have your company.  And keep crafting!

Sunday Stuff

Here I am today with a card to share made with the Stamplorations Theme & Sketch Cahllenge in mind.

http://stamplorations.blogspot.co.uk/2017/05/may-challenge.html     http://stamplorations.blogspot.co.uk/2017/05/may-challenge.html

Really loving this sketch with its central panel and here's my card:

I used a mega wide strip of washi tape for the central panel and then picked up on the colours from it when choosing some patterned paper. I punched the flowers, die cut the 'amazing' and stamped the rest of the sentiment.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Simply Said
Ink: Versafine, onyx black
Paper: AC, Garden Cafe
Die: CUTplorations, amazing
Punches: Martha Stewart, large flower; Dovecraft, small flowers
Washi from my stash

So pleased to have you visit today, thanks so much.  And keep crafting!

Saturday Slot

As I've just come back from a lovely sunny holiday to be met with grey rainy skies back home I decided the warm cue card at CASology was just the tonic I needed.

http://casology.blogspot.co.uk/2017/05/week-249-warm.html

So I picked out some warm and spicy colours and a heart warming sentiment for my card.

I'm so pleased to see Clearly Besotted is back in business again, makes me feel less guilty about using all the stamps I've got in my stash for current challenges.

Supplies:
Stamps: clearly Besotted, Colour Chameleon & sentiment from Pretty Petals Plus
Inks: Kaleidacolor, creole spice; Memento, tuxedo black
Promarkers: mustard, terracotta, burnt orange, raw sienna

Thanks so much for your time today, I really appreciate your visit to my blog.  And keep crafting!

Uniko Challenge #41

A new challenge begins today at Uniko and it's a theme very close to my heart - masculine. I know it can be tricky to make male themed cards, but most of us have to at some point, so why not take this golden opportunity and play along?

http://unikostudio.blogspot.com/2017/05/uniko-challenge-41-masculine-with.html

And as I have a bit of a thing for balloons and haven't inked any up recently the beginnings of my card was immediately sorted.

Once the balloon was in place I then added some huge sentiment words - another thing I love on cards! I finished off by underlining the 'wish' with a stamp from Background Builders Squared in a dark blue.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Background Builders Squared, Balloon Bash, Big & Bold Wish
 BBSquaredPP        BalloonBashPP      BIG&BOLDWishPP
Inks: SU, night of navy; Memento, pear tart, Paris dusk; Versa Magic, cloud white

As always Bev is offering some fabulous prizes - check them out HERE. And while you're there take a good look at all the other DT inspiration cards too. So what are you waiting for? Go on get out those masculine stamps and colours and get crafting!

Thanks for dropping by today, it's always wonderful to have you visit. And keep crafting!

The Memory Nest - Make It Monday #88

Hello everyone! I'm really excited to be here today to share my DT page for the new Make It Monday Challenge at The Memory Nest.

http://thememorynest.blogspot.com/2017/04/make-it-monday-no-88.html

And the reason for my excitement is because it's all about my first real adventure into crafting with my youngest grandson.

I'm so loving the look of concentration on his face and the story behind this photo is so funny - something to do with glitter and granny forgetting you limit supplies when crafting with toddlers. Check out those feet!

A couple of pieces cut from a full 12x12 paper became my two title elements and I added stamping on top and around them.

I chose blue washi and stamped blue arrows and stars to pick up on the colours from his t-shirt and I changed the stars from the sketch into die cut hearts using the same paper collection as the title cards.

One square from the sketch became my journalling spot and I added three trios of enamel shapes on the diagonal.

Supplies:
Ppaers: Bazzill Basics, cardstock; AC Amy Tangerine, Oh Happy Life
Die: Xcut, Homespun Hearts
Stamps: Stamplorations, Art Marks; SU, Touches of Texture
Inks: SU, peekaboo peach, rose red; Memento, danube blue
Embellishments: SU enamel shapes, peekaboo peach; washi from my stash

Ok so you know the drill - pop on over to The Memory Nest, check out the rest of the DT creations, then go get crafty yourself.

Huge thanks for visiting my blog today, I always appreciate sharing your precious time.  And keep crafting!

AAA Cards - #90 Embossing

A new challenge starts today at AAA Cards and it's a really easy theme and one that I know you'll have no trouble in interpreting - Embossing.

http://aaacards.blogspot.com/2017/05/cas-game-90-embossing.html

For my card I've used two different embossing techniques: dry embossing with a folder for the main image and heat embossing for the greeting.

Once I'd run the card through my cuttlebug to dry emboss the words I then rubbed a Kaleidacolor ink pad over the top to highlight the embossing. The card was then cut down using a stitched square die and placed onto green cardstock leaving plenty of empty 'white' space around it.

I finished off the card with a white heat embossed sentiment and a trio of black enamel dots.

Supplies:
Embossing: Cuttlebug folder, Happy Birthday; Ranger superfine, white
Inks: Kaleidacolor, Caribbean Sea
Die: Lawn Fawn, large stitched square stackables
Card: SU, emerald envy
Embellishments: black pearls from my stash

Over on the AAA Cards blog - here - you can see the wonderful DT cards and our fabulous Guest Designer Deidre's card. Go be inspired!

Thanks for your time today, it's been great having you visit. And keep crafting!
