Funky Fossil April Release - Introducing Serenitea

 Hello!

It's the final day of introductions to Funky Fossil's April release. And if you like fine china and afternoon tea this could be the perfect match for you.

So gloriously pretty don't you think?
I'm excited to share my sample cards using this set.

I used the beautiful swirl from the Cup of Love stencil to create a background and then matted up the trio tower of cups and coloured them to match.

My next card uses papers from the Shibori pad - not ready to put these papers away yet. I paper pieced the cups and coloured the flowers and birds in toning shades of blue.

I also used one of the Shibori papers as matt and added in two trios of the matching enamel dots. It pleases me to have three sets of trios!

For my final share I went with a favourite combo - kraft card and colouring pencils.

So that's all the introductions complete and everything will be in the shop from 9am tomorrow 1st April. Time for you to reflect a little and decide which products have rung your bell and get that wish list sorted!

I have a few more samples to share tomorrow, hope to see you then.

Thanks so much for looking today.

Funky Fossil April Release - Introducing Dreaming of Japan, Shibori Papers & Washi and Wave Die

 Hello!

An my are you in for a treat today! I just became totally obsessed with everything in this introduction when I first saw it - and still am today!

Swoon right?

The papers are just so beautiful and atmospheric on their own, but combined with the stamps and the die - well take a look see.

I used the Edger die to create the illusion of waves on the card above and the majestic wave stamp and classically elegant Japanese lady on the card below.

And then of course there is the Wave die! Oh wow! How amazing is that?

Are you as blown away by today's introductions as I am? Thought you might be!

One last introduction tomorrow and it's another beautiful and classic set, but couldn't be more different from today's. Something for the tea drinkers.

Thanks so much for your time today,

Stay safe and keep crafting!

Funky Fossil April Release - Introducing Motley Crew, Edger and Funky Word Dies

 Hello!

Day four of the introductions to Funky Fossil's April release.

Heads up confession - I've not actually used the dies today but I did on Sunday and will do again tomorrow and on release day. Today it's the Motley Crew that have claimed all the air time!

I've used stencils on my first two cards - Pretty Circle above and Splatters below.

My final card uses a favourite technique - stamping and masking off then applying background colours.

Once again something completely different to show you tomorrow. It's all so elegant and timeless and totally gorgeous - and there's a lot of it!

Thanks for looking today.

Well aren't they just the best?

Well I got totally smitten by the cute little lady from The Wishing Tree and she features on all my cards for today.

The border from card 2 and the background  from card 1 use a new A7 stamp also from this release - Moons.

And my final card uses a paper from the previously released Flowerful to paper piece the umbrella and girl's dress as well as a backing matt.

So much excitement already and tomorrow brings a new Donna Gray set - yay!

Funky Fossil April Release - Introducing Architectural

 Hello!

Day 2 of the introductions to Funky Fossil's April release.

Another in Sarah's iconic blueprints series and sure to be a quick seller like its forerunners.

My first card above uses a combo of the stamps and some fresh colours to create a background for a slimline.

And my second card below uses the wonderful Watercolour Lines stencil confined to circle as a sunset inspired background for the large window stamp.

And then I got a bit inspired by the 'art is everywhere' sentiment and thought stained glass windows for my final share.

So what's in store tomorrow? Oooo two sets with magic and mystery at their heart. You'll love them!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Funky Fossil April Release - Introducing Waters Edge

 Hello!

Welcome to the first day of introductions to Funky Fossil's April release.

How beautiful is this set! Hope you like my samples.

This stamp set just lends itself to scene building and all three of my cards have utilised this.

The washi edges I used on my last card reminded me of the movement of water. Sneak peek of this washi which matches a very beautiful paper pad being introduced later this week.

Day one complete. Tomorrow something completely different - well that's what you've come to expect from Funky Fossil releases after all!

Thanks for looking.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

Guest Designing with AAA Cards

Hello!

I'm delighted to be guest designing with AAA Cards for their challenge that has started today.

A lovely simple theme don't you think? Here's my card:

I used the super cute sheep image from Funky Fossil's Feeling Sheepish and created a little background interest using the In The Clouds and Scenic Borders stencils.

Are there any lambs out in the fields near you yet or are the sheep still waiting their new arrivals a bit like the one on my card might be?

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Feeling Sheepish
Stencils: Funky Fossil, In The Clouds, Scenic Borders
Inks: Ranger distress oxide, cracked pistachio, tumbled glass; Memento, tuxedo back
Pens: Copic, R29, R59, RV02, C0, C3

I hope you'll find time to play along with this Spring challenge at AAA Cards. The DT have really been rocking the challenges with their card samples this year. Go check them all out HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, it's been great fun to have your company.

AAA Birthday Challenge #35 - Under The Sea

 Hello!

I'm here today to tell you all about the March challenge at AAA Birthday.

My card design was inspired by an awesome card viewed on Instagram by my long time internet friend Asa - HERE. And the Weird Fish from Funky Fossil was such a no brainer choice for me.

I started my card by creating the inky background and using a ruler to draw in the lines. Then I over stamped the splatter and circles and added in a greeting. The fish I stamped, coloured and hand cut and placed on top.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Weird Fish & Majestic Blooms; SU, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Ranger distress oxide, salvaged patina, prize ribbon; Versafine Clair, nocturne; Memento, tuxedo black
Pens: Copic, YG06, B04

The AAA Birthday DT and guest designers Arlene and Claire have really rocked this theme. The range of styles and creativity is off the charts. go take a look - HERE.

Huge thanks for stopping by my blog today, I really appreciate you taking the time.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

Uniko BA Inspiration

Hello!

I'm up on the Uniko blog today CASEing a couple of my older cards.

I so enjoyed seeing all the Alumni cards during February's birthday month that I decided to give it a go myself.

So I dug back in history to December 2016 and here's the first card I decided to bring bang up to date:

This card used BIG & BOLD Snow and Stunning Snowflakes and my new version uses BIG & BOLD You and the newly re-released Fun Flowers.

I kept to a similar colour scheme and the same layout, but changed up the sequins to clear drops.

And from the same time I've chosen this very CAS card to CASE.

It uses Stunning Snowflakes and my new version uses Fun Flowers and Everyday Sentiments.

This time I also kept to the same design, but completely changed the colours.

I always used to round the bottom right corner of my cards and have tried this again for both of my updated cards. What do you think?

I hope you have enjoyed this little trip down memory lane and encourage you to do the same - it's so fun looking back.

Thanks for looking today, it's been fabulous to have your company.

Stay safe and keep crafting!
