White with 1 - July Challenge

It's a new month - well it is in Australia - and time for a new challenge at White With 1.

I'm loving this colour and the inspiration board! I knew exactly which products I wanted to use from my stash and also scraplifted the layout from Lauren an entrant to the March challenge.

And how long ago does March seem! To think back then when I created this layout for the July challenge I had no idea what strange times we were going to live in.

I actually knew what you liked back then, now you've grown up and grown away and I have no real idea about how you spend your time these days. Thanks goodness for photographs and memories!

The seedy paper has been in my stash for ever and came from way back when there was actually a dedicated scrapbooking magazine in the UK. And the Uniko Happy Succulents were a perfect match for the mood board too.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, Happy Succulents
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Feeling Gritty
Inks: SU, rich razzleberry
Dies: MFT Die-namics, stitched fishtail flags, cute cameras
Punch: ek border
Alphas: Pink Fresh Studio, Just A Little Lovely
Stickers: Tim Holtz, Small Talk
Embellishments: Mei flower gems; MME enamel dots

Thanks so much for looking at my blog today. I really appreciate you taking the time and hope you will be inspired to play along with this challenge.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

Monday Moment

Today I'm playing along with the sketch challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches.

Here's my card:

I started by masking off the bottom strip and inking through with two stencils - Grid and Feeling Gritty and two colours. Then I removed the mask and created the vertical strip in the same way but reversing the colours.

I stamped words and phrases from Funky Fossil's Small Print on top of the stencilled strips and added a main sentiment using Happy Words, also from Funky Fossil.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Small Print, Happy Words
Inks: Ranger distress, blueprint sketch, lucky clover; Versafine Clair, nocturne
Stencils: Funky Fossil, Grid, Feeling Gritty

Thanks so much for dropping by today, I always enjoy having a bit of company.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

Sunday Slot

Have you seen the fun photo inspiration at Time Out Challenges? Loving all the bright happy colours!

So of course I just had to join in and play along.

I used the Stacked Lines stencil from Funky Fossil to create the background colours and then the party cat from Cattitude popped up on top with foam pads. I thought the patterns on the cat were a bit like the pinata from the inspiration photo.

Supplies:
Inks: SU, daffodil delight, tempting turquoise, melon mambo; Memento, tuxedo black
Pens: Copic, E31, E50, RV00, RV04, R29, Y18, BG15, YG13

Huge thanks for dropping by my bog today, it's always so much more fun when you do.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

Funky Fossil June Release & Hochanda Show

YAY! It's release day at Funky Fossil and you can start shopping and making your wish list come true!

Here's a little look at all five new stamp sets:

And here's some cards to showcase them:

Well how about that I went off piste and created a much more complex design than usual, bet you think it still looks CAS though! I used three stencils - Rainfall, Feeling Gritty & Banners & Bunting and three stamp sets - Find Your Rainbow, Small Print from this release & Furry Friends from May's release.

Supplies:
Stamps – Find Your Rainbow, Furry Friends
Card: Papermill Direct, black, super smooth white
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black; Ranger distress oxide, picked raspberry, spiced marmalade, fossilized amber, ripe persimon, squeezed lemonade, twisted citron, worn lipstick, scattered straw, spun sugar
Die: MFT Die-namics, stitched jumbo fishtail banner
Pens: Copic, YR15, Y35, RV04

After the shock of that card I've reverted to type and gone with my current favourite technique of a stencilled background with a stamped image on top!

I used the beautiful butterfly from the Geo Bugs stamps set and the Watercolour Lines stencil in yellow behind it.

Supplies:
Stamps – Geo Bugs
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne; Ranger distress, mustard seed

My next card uses one of the She Is Fierce faces combined with the Fierce stencil - a match made in heaven!

I chose the colours - well you know why - and had so much fun dying her hair just how I'd like to have mine.

Supplies:
Stamps – She Is Fierce
Stencil: Fierce
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black; Ranger distress, picked raspberry, wilted violet
Die: MFT Die-namics, double stitched circle stax
Pens: Copic, E0000, E000, E00, YG13, RV09, V17

My final card today uses much more subtle and peaceful colours and is quite calming to look at.

I used three stencils - Scenic Borders for the sand, In the Clouds for the sky and Arched Window to contain it all. I stamped some shells from Starfish Wishes directly onto the stencilling and also onto card to colour and hand cut for the embellishment cluster at the bottom of the window. The sentiment is from Small Print.

Supplies:
Stamps – Starfish Wishes, Small Print
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black peanut brittle, London fog, summer sky; Ranger distress, mustard seed
Pens: Copic, RV00, RV02, E21, E23, E25, E31, E33, E35, E44, E47, E49, E51, E55, E57, E59, BV000, BV01

Well that's my shares all done. Now it's up to you to finalise that shopping list and treat yourself to some new Funky Fossil goodies. Find them all HERE.  Happy Shopping!

Remember to set your alarms for the Hochanda show at 3.00pm to see Sarah demonstrating using the new release stamps. It's the first time she's actually been able to go down to the studio because of you know what, so let's give her some love and support and cheer her on.

Thanks so much for your time today. I really appreciate you taking a look at my blog.

Funky Fossil June Pre-Release Peeks - She Is Fierce

Today's peek at the Funky Fossil June release is just possibly my favourite of the bunch. She Is Fierce has four different sassy faces, a flower and a couple of strong positive empowerment sentiments.

All four of my cards today use stencilled backgrounds with the image stamped over - definitely my go to technique at the moment.

I started by masking off a strip down the right hand side and used the Abstract Bamboo Background stencil placed horizontally to create the stripes. Next I added the pink through the Round Tree stencil and then stamped the face on top. The flower was stamped, coloured and hand cut and placed in her hair.

Supplies:
Stamps – She Is Fierce, Small Print
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne; Ranger distress, picked raspberry, black soot
Pens: Miya oil pencils

I pretty much repeated the design for my next card, but placed the stripes at the bottom instead and used a different face and the Cellular stencil behind it.

Both these two cards have shown that you can be selective about how much of the card front is covered by a stencil. You just need to place the stencil to the side or simply just ink through a small section.

Supplies:
Stamps – She Is Fierce, Small Print
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne; Ranger distress, mustard seed, black soot

And then there are times when the stencil is just so gorgeous like Geo Flowers you really want to use it in its entirety.

And as I knew which sentiment I was going to use from the small Print set I inked through it in full colour! And this face is the one that has become my favourite of the four in the She Is Fierce set.

Supplies:
Stamps – She Is Fierce, Small Print
Stencil: Geo Flowers
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne; Ranger distress, picked raspberry, peacock feathers, wilted violet, mustard seed

My final card today uses the Forest Foliage stencil, three ink colours and a sentiment from the She Is Fierce set. Can you see how easily the sentiment from here would match with the Small Print stamps? I'm thinking multiple sentiments on a scrapbook page.

For this card the face was only partly stamped over the stencilled background to enable me to add colour to the hair and face using Copic pens and Miya oil pencils. Way to go to practise putting on make up!

Supplies:
Stamps – She Is Fierce
Stencil: Forest Foliage
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne; Ranger distress, lucky clover, peacock feathers, mustard seed
Pen: Copic RV66; Miya oil pencils
Card: Papermill Direct, emerald green

Well that's the end of the peeks at the June release. All products will be on sale in the Funky Fossil shop from 9.00am tomorrow 27th June.

And don't forget to tune in to Hochanda at 3.00pm on Saturday 27th to see Sarah demonstrating - this time actually in the studio! If you can't wait till then pop on over to Craftworld where you can watch a video of Sarah using her products with tips and techniques  - HERE.

Thanks so much for looking today, it's been fabulous to have your company. I hope you'll come back tomorrow when I'll have few more cards to share using the new June release stamps.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

Funky Fossil June Pre-Release Peeks - Starfish Wishes

Day 3 of the Funky Fossil peeks at the June release and it's all about the beach. Sarah must have known we were going to have a bit of a heatwave here in the UK!

And don't you just love collecting sea shells and filling jars with them? Well here's a card to show that I do!

I started by placing the Funky Fossil stencil Mason Jar onto my card and then popped the Crackle Background stencil under it. I then inked through with some sandy colours. I stamped some shells inside the jar and then added a few extra posing on the outside.

Supplies:
Stamps – Starfish Wishes, Small Print
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black lulu lavender, peanut brittle; Versafine Calir, nocturne
Pens: Copic, RV00, RV02, E21, E23, E25, E31, E33, E35, E44, E47, E49, E51, E55, E57, E59, BV000, BV01

My next card is a riot of colours and I really had fun with the bright vibrancy of my Inktense pencils.

I added a sentiment from Tuesday's peek set Small Print and matted it onto black and then a bright yellow base card.

Supplies:
Stamps – Starfish Wishes, Small Print
Inks: Versfaine Clair, nocturne;
Card: Papermill Direct, daffodil yellow, black, super smooth white

My next share is a bit of a beach scene. I created a wave pattern using the Woodgrain Background stencil and the sandy beach using the Seashells stencil.

I then simply stamped the shells on top placing them down in one corner. Two favourites with this card - stamping on top of stencil colours and a corner placement.

Supplies:
Stamps: Starfish Wishes
Inks: Versafine Clair, nocturne; Ranger distress, blueprint sketch, peacock feathers, mustard seed

I've one more card to share today - I just couldn't put these beautiful shell stamps away!

I used a light blue card base and the Funky Fossil Fish Background stencil behind a die cut window. Then I stamped, coloured and hand cut some shells to make a cluster at the bottom of the window.

Supplies:
Stamps: Starfish Wishes
Stencils:Fish Background
Card: Papermill Direct, black, super smooth white
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black; Ranger distress, mermaid lagoon, lucky clover
Pens: Copic, E50, BG11, BG15

Tomorrow sees the last of the pre-release peeks and it may just be my favourite! Hope to see you then.

Thanks for your time today I'm so pleased you came and kept me company for a while.

Stay safe and keep crafting!
