Happy Little Stampers - December CAS Challenge

I'm here today to tell you all about the new CAS challenge that's started at Happy Little Stampers. It's a very chilly theme so matches the weather here in the UK perfectly!

Here's my card:

I used the gorgeous Funky Fossil fox and set him in a Winter scene. I started by stamping the fox, masking him and the bottom of the card and then placing a circle stencil over it all. I stamped the trees next and masked them off too.

I used distress ink to add the sky, then removed the bottom mask and inked the icy ground. Then it was time to remove all the masks and reveal the finished scene.

I coloured the fox and his scarf, keeping him in icy colours - maybe he's a snow fox? And then I added some stickles glitter glue to make the icy ground sparkle. The greeting was the final finishing touch.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Woodland Wishes
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black; SU, smoky slate, soft sky
Pens: Copic, C00, C0, C1, C3, C5, C7, BG0000, BG15
Embellishments: Stickles, stardust

How will you interpret this theme? I'm thinking it might be a good one for New Year cards if your Christmas stash is full. Or maybe for a Winter birthday with all the magic of the new Frozen movie around at the moment. Check out what the rest of the HLS DT have created HERE.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today and I hope wherever you are you're warm and cosy.

And keep crafting!

AAA Birthday - #8 Balloons & Banners

The last challenge of 2019 is starting today at AAA Birthday.  And hey I know you're all into Christmas mode at the moment but birthdays still happen in December so take a break and rustle up a birthday card or two and get linked up at AAA Birthday.

Now I know a bit about December birthdays as one of my sons and now one of my grandsons have them. It can be fun having a December birthday but there are downsides too - it's easy to feel a bit invisible amongst all the Christmas mayhem.

Anyway here's my card to show December birthdays are just as important as Christmas:

I used a Polkadoodles digi stamp as my starting point. I masked it off and added some stencilled banners using Funky Fossil's Banners & Bunting. I then coloured the image using Copic pens  to match the banner blues and greens.

I die cut three layers of a stitched frame and then added a stamped and hand cut extra banner across the one of the top corners. I finished it all off with the Happy Birthday sentiment.

Supplies:
Stamps: Polkadoodles, Party Dude; Catherine Pooler, Birthday Icons
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black; Ranger distress oxide, mermaid lagoon, twisted citron, cracked pistachio
Die: Lawn Fawn, stitched rectangle frame
Pens: Copic, W1, W3, C01, C1, C3, C5, E21, E50, E51, E55, E70, R2O, B93, B95, B97, YG01, YG03, YG23, BG15, BG22, BG34

Huge thanks for your time today. I'm always thrilled to have people visit my blog. Hope to see you join in with the challenge too.

And keep crafting!

Sunday Slot

Today I'm playing along with the Christmas Kickstart Challenge  where the theme is Show Us Your Santas.

I used this fabulous digi from LOTV and had fun colouring with my Copic pens.

The larger snow is included in the digi stamp, but I wanted a real flurry of snow so I added some more with a white gel pen.

I added a sparkly golden frame and matted it all onto a red card base. This one is going to one of my grandsons.

Supplies:
Stamps: LOTV digi, Santa
Die: Lawn Fawn, stitched rectangle frames
Card: Papermill Direct, non shed glitter
Pens: Copic, B93, B97, R27, R29, R39, R59, YR04, E00, E23, E25, E31, E33, E43, E44, E47, C0, C1, C3, C5, YG13, YG23, YG63, BV23, BV25, BV29; Sakura gelly roll, white

Saturday Slot

A crisp frosty morning here in the UK, so how about a bit of Summer fun to warm up the day?

Here's a scrapbook page I've made just for fun to give myself a break from Christmas crafting and no challenges and not for a challenge.

I don't get many opportunities to snap these three together, but they were so absorbed in playing with the stones they didn't even notice me photographing them. So no funny faces or deep sighs to contend with.

I used lots of warm sunny colours and added word/phrase stickers and enamel dots in a triangle to frame the photo.

Supplies:
Papers: Simple Stories, Sunshine & Blue skies, Sunshine & Happiness
Alphas: Simple Stories Sunshine & Happiness
Stickers:  Simple Stories Sunshine & Happiness
Embellishments: Echo Park enamel dots, I'd rather be crafting

Thanks so much for looking today, I really appreciate you finding the time to visit my blog.

And keep crafting!

Black Friday with Funky Fossil

I'm back again today with news of another Black Friday shopping opportunity. Funky Fossil have a massive 20% off everything in store when you use the code SAVE20.

And that's not all! Funky Fossil have added a SALE section to the store and the 20% discount can be added to those already reduced prices.

So how about a little DT card to help you along with your choices? I've made a gift card for a friend that loves gardening and I'll be popping some gardening vouchers inside it for her Christmas gift.

I used kraft card stock to create a gift wallet and then decorated it with stamps from Plant A Garden and the brick wall stencil.

The greeting is one of my all time favourite quotes and I love the tiny stamps like the snail and butterfly that are part of this stamp set.

Supplies:
Stamps: Funky Fossil, Plant A Garden
Inks: SU, soft suede; Ranger distress, brushed corduroy, crushed olive
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Brick Wall
Pencils: Prismacolor

So what are you waiting for? Get yourself over to Funky Fossil and grab yourself a bargain! Your tomorrow self will be so pleased if you do.

Thanks for looking and Happy Black Friday weekend shopping!

Thursday Thoughts

Today's share is a card I made for the Theme & Photo Challenge at STAMPlorations.

Here's my card which picks up on the colours and circles from the photo.

I used a stencil for all the background circles and inked through it with Stampin' Up Early Espresso. I then removed the stencil and applied a layer of Cosmic Shimmer mica powder. It really catches the light in real life.

My stamp element for this challenge is the greeting. I heat embossed it in white onto some brown card stock  which matches the base card.

Supplies:
Stamps: sentiment from Funky Fossil, The Quick Brown Fox
Inks: Versamark clear + WOW! opaque white embossing powder; Cosmic Shimmer mica powder, sapphire ultra; SU, early espresso
Stencil: Funky Fossil, Circle Burst
Card: Ppaermill Direct, mocha brown

I'm so pleased to have had you visit my blog today, enormous thanks.

And keep crafting!
