Monday Moment

I'm playing along at Inkspirational today and they have a wonderfully dark and moody photo for inspiration.

So much movement and pretty much the same colour. I've tried to reflect this in my card:

I chose the chevrons not just for their movement but also to represent the windows in the buildings.  I then stamped and second stamped the splodges for the rain.

The umbrella is such a big part of the photo and it drew my eye immediately so of course there had to be an umbrella on my card. I stamped and die cut it and popped it up on pads to add more impact.  I finished off my card with an inspirational sentiment which I thought reflected the feel of the photo.

AAA Cards Challenge #113 - Perfect Day

 A new challenge beings today at AAA Cards and the theme is Perfect Day. 

My card uses stamps from the wonderful Precious Remembrance Shop - the sponsor for this challenge.

My favourite time of year is Autumn when the trees and hedgerows look magnificent in their gorgeous colours and that's why I chose to create this card. A walk on an Autumn day when the sun is shining and the temperature is warm is my idea of a perfect day.

And simple CAS cards are my most favourite genre and Precious Remembrance Shop have the most beautiful images and totally fabulous sentiment quotes. So I couldn't resist making a second card for this challenge.

Loving the Kaleidacolor colours of this ink pad - well there is some purple in the mix!

Saturday Slot

I'm joining in with the sketch challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches today.

This was a fabulous sketch to use and so easy to stay CAS:

I stamped and coloured the line of birthday candles and matted it onto blue card stock. Then I stamped and die cut the sentiment banner and placed it over the candles.

Friday Focus

Today I'm playing along with the MUSE Challenge. I absolutely couldn't resist this one, such a beautiful and fresh looking MUSE card to be inspired by.

Here's my card:

So I used the colours and the placement of elements, but changed it up into a birthday card. And it was also a great excuse to use those fabulous Uniko goodies in my stash.

I loved the CAS look of Tracey's card and I think if anything my card is even more CAS.

Thursday Thoughts

It's never too early to start building that stash of Christmas cards and today I'm playing along with the CAS Christmas Challenge.

No surprise with the purple I'm guessing, but maybe the whole style of the card is a bit more unusual for me.  I started by stamping and heat embossing the two baubles - such amazingly beautiful and intricate patterns. 

I remembered I had some Lustre Luxe and attempted to use it on the baubles. That didn't go well! So it became one of those happy accidents and I just went with the flow and covered the whole card with it.

I finished off by die cutting it and matting it on purple card stock.  The greeting was stamped using Staz-On becuase of the shiny surface of the Lustre Luxe.

Wednesday Words

Today I'm back in scrapbooking mode and have created a fun page using the sketch from Let's Get Sketchy.

Here it is:

I used papers from Shimelle's Box of Crayons and picked the stripy background paper because it was so dramatic and bold and matched the photo colours so perfectly.  But as the photo was all about hunting for Easter eggs I added in some splashes of yellow to the mix.

The diamonds are die cut squares rotated and I matched the blue and aqua and added in some white too. I also matted the photo onto white and used white alphas for the title as I liked the contrast and how it enabled them to jump out from the background colours.

Happy Little Stampers April ATC Challenge

I'm really excited about the new atc challenge that's starting at Happy Little Stampers today as the theme is butterflies and I loved creating my DT cards!

In fact I loved making them so much I actually made a trio!

I got all inky with two brusho colours and a stencil to make the backgrounds - loving those two colours together, but then I would! Next I stamped some butterflies on top of the background and also onto scrap card so that I could fussy cut one for each card to pop up on foam pads.

I finished off by heat embossing some inspirational words to each card and matting them onto black card stock.
