Kylie at Happy Little Stampers is starting a new idea this month - spotlighting a particular stamp set each month.  July's set is Whimsical Friends and as it's one I have in my stash I'm joining in with the fun.

I used the block technique to create my card:

I really love the look of this technique and this is how I did it:
1. stamp the image
2. mask off the image by stamping it again on sticky paper and cut around it
3. use a die to cut a stencil from sticky or scrap paper to place over the masked image
4. apply ink
5. remove the stencil and mask
6. stamp the sentiment

I finished off the card by jazzing up the elephants blanket with sparkly Wink of Stella.

Supplies:
Stamps: HLS, Whimsical Friends
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black; Ranger distress, cracked pistachio, mermaid lagoon
Die: Xcut Spiro circles
Wink of Stella, clear
