AAA Cards fb Weekend Workout

This weekend the AAA Cards facebook group has a just for fun challenge to make a CAS card without using any stamps.

Here's my card:

So what's the next best thing to stamps - well stencils and die cuts of course! I used A Colorful Life's Half Sun stencil in hot shades of yellow, orange and red and then finished it of with a striking die cut from CUTplorations. How quick simple and easy was that!

Supplies:
Stencil: A Colorful Life, Half Sun
Inks: Ranger distress oxide, picked raspberry, squeezed lemonade, candied apple
Die: CUTplorations, Life is Good

Friday Focus

A scrapbook page to share today using an interesting theme from Scrap the Girls.

So everything squared then:

As I spend a ridiculous amount of time browsing on instagram this theme just had to be embraced! So all my papers and the photo were cut into squares with rounded corners and I tried to use the colours from the IG logo too.

The photo is from a college reunion back in July and seemed very appropriate for this theme. Lots of get my best side, wait a moment while I pull in my tummy type moments, but then it was done and here we are!

Supplies:
Papers:AC, kraft card stock; Prima Marketing, Bella Rouge
Dies: Lawn Fawn, large stitched circle stackables & hearts; Spellbinders, standard circles small
Punch: Xcut, corner rounder
Stickers: MAMBI, pocket pages; Paperchase, puffy hearts; Sparklets, enamel dots

Huge thanks for looking today, it's always much more fun when I have company.

And keep crafting!

STAMPlorations Digi Inspiration

Hello and welcome to my blog.

Today I'm showcasing the STAMPlorations digital stamps set Cupful of Blooms. This is a set of six digis, three coffee cups with flowers and three floral card fronts.

My first share uses one of the card fronts printed onto kraft card stock and coloured with Prismacolor pencils. I love the look of white pencil on kraft card.

I matted it onto black to pick up on the colour of the frame and added a die cut greeting from CUTplorations.

Suppiles:
Stamps: STAMPlorations Digi,Cupful of  Blooms Cardfront1
Colours: Prismacolor pencils, black, white, process red, Spring green

For my second card I used one of the coffee cups with flowers and mostly paper pieced it. This is very easy to do with a digi. You simply print the whole digi onto different patterned papers as well as the card and then cut the individual parts out and stick them on top. The bonus is that you can create extra cards with all the left over bits if you wish.

I coloured the leaves with my Copic pens and also added in some shading on top of the paper pieced elements. The sentiment is from Fond Expressions 2.

Supplies:
Stamps: STAMPLorations Digi, Cupful of Blooms 2, Fond Expressions 2
Colours: Copic pens, C0, W1, W5, YG03, YG13, YG23
Papers: Frances Kitschy, Kirchen paper pad

Shery has very generously included a chance to win a prize with the introductions to her new range of digital stamps - all you have to do is leave comments round the blogs of the new Digi DT and it could be you who wins a $15 gift code to be spent at either the main or digital store.  Find all the details and the mini hop participants on the STAMPlorations blog HERE.

Thanks so much for joining me today, it's been fun to have your company for a while.

And keep crafting!

Monday Moment

Today I'm adding to my Christmas stash and playing along with Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge.

Here's my card:

I knew this cute elf had a bell on his hat but I thought he was also holding one too. Well seems I was wrong. So I got my thinking cap on and came up with the idea of masking out the bauble he's holding and adding the bell from the set instead. It nearly worked!  On to plan B and a hand cut version on top instead.

Supplies:
Stamps: MFT, Santa's Elves; Uniko, Simply Said blocks Christmas
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black
Pens: Copic, E000, E00, E49, R20, R29, R39, R59, B00, B02, B04, Y35, Y38, C1, C00

Thanks so much for looking today, hope to see come back and say hello another day too.

And keep crafting!

Sunday Spot

Another scrapbook page to share today. This time it  uses the sketch from the facebook group Sketchy Boards.

As soon as I saw all the rosettes and banner flags on the sketch I knew it would be perfect for my grandson's school Sports Day photos.

I started by using a the Spatter stencil from A Colorful Life, moving it around fairly randomly to get the effect I was after. The photos were made into circles in Photoshop and I matted them onto black die cuts to ensure they remained the main focal point of what was going to be a busy page. I then die cut some extra circles and added them to the page.

A title was added using thickers and I found three suitable quotations to place under. I then got busy adding all those little extras like stickers, enamel dots and stars. No journalling on this page, I thought the photos pretty well spoke for themselves.

Supplies:
Papers: AC kraft card stock; Shimelle, Go Now Go; scraps from my stash
Stencil: A Colorful Life, Spatter
Inl: Ranger distress, chipped sapphire
Alphas: Dear Lizzy, woodland thickers
Dies: Xcut, spiro circles; Spellbinders, standard circles small
Stickers: Tim Holtz, small talk; Ppaerchase, puffy stars; MME, woode shapes & enamel dots; Maggie Holmes sticker book.

Saturday Slot

Today I'm sharing a scrapbook page I created using the mood board from Scrap the Boys.

Here's my page:

I thought reaching a double digit birthday was grown up enough to suit the dark colour palette of the mood board. So i started with a plain black card and pulled out lots of scraps in shades of grey.

I thought the brick and checked papers and the grey stars captured the mood of the board's photo. And I also included a scrap of Happy Birthday card plus some inspirational word phrases.

Old enough now to cut your own birthday cake and far too quick at blowing out the candles for me to capture it on camera. And just look who's photo bombing the birthday pic - who  would have a teenage older brother!

Supplies:
Papers: Mostly scraps, but the stars were from Simple Stories Let Freedom Ring
Alphas: AC thickers, Subway; Pinkfrsh Studio, Just a Little Lovely
Stickers: Freckled Fawn, puffy camera; Tim Holtz idea-ology small talk; Vicki Boutin sticker book; Simple Stories, Life in Color
Embellishments: Echo Park, I'd rather be crafting enamel dots

I'm so pleased you had time to drop by today, huge thanks for your time.

And keep crafitng!

Friday Focus

Today I'm sharing a scrapbook page that uses the sketch and moodboard from Let's Get Sketchy.

Here's my page:

The moodboard influenced my choice of photograph and the summery sunshiny feel and colours of my layout. I only wanted to use one large photo, it is a favourite from this trip to see my middle son on the Isle of Man, so I added a jumbo word in place of the second photo.

The background paper is actually the B side of a baby boy pack from Photoplay and I chose it for the wonderful colours. I often use the B side of a paper as  I find they have less invasive and in your face patterns.

As this was a special photo and layout I added in a bit of my rapidly diminishing and therefore precious Hambly cameras transparency sheet. And because it really is nearly all gone I chopped the middle bit out that would have been behind the other papers and saved it for another day.

Supplies:
Papers: Photoplay, Hello Baby; Hambly, cameras; scraps from my stash
Words: Shimelle, Box of Crayons; Cocoa Vanilla, Boys Rule
Stickers: Simple Stories Bliss; Shimelle Box of Carayons; SU, ancient sheet from my stash
Embellishments: Washi,: Carpe Diem; MME, wooden shapes; Echo Park A Perfect Winter enamel dots

I'm so delighted to have had your company for a while today, thanks so much for visiting my blog.

And keep crafting!

White With 1 Guest Designer

I'm super excited to be here today Guest Designing with White With 1. It's always a pleasure to be asked to Guest with a challenge, but is even more special for me when it's a scrapbooking challenge!

As the name suggests the challenge is all about using mainly white with one given colour. Well for August it was either deep purple, pastel purple or a combo of both. A colour choice from heaven for me then!

And there is also a sketch to follow.

Well a recent trip down to Portsmouth for a college reunion had me discovering a whole new concept in cocktails - yes you've guessed a purple one! So it had to photographed and it had to be scrapped!

So here I am looking rather smug with my parma violet gin and prosecco cocktail down by the harbour in Old Portsmouth with the famous Spinnaker in the background.

I used a white pen for my journalling on the deep purple strip of card stock which I edged in white with a border punch. The flower embellishments are a Uniko stamp and matching die and I also added some hearts and sticker words too.

The hello is a Lawn Fawn die and the puffy today sticker is from a MAMBI planner sheet.
the speech bubbles and circles are die cuts and I inked around their edges with a little distress ink.

Supplies:
Papers: scraps from my stash
Dies: Laewn Fawn, Hello; MFT Die-namics, double stitched circles; Clearly Besotted, speech bubbles
Punch: ek scalloped border
Stamps: Uniko, Beautiful Blooms 1 + matching die
Ink: Memento, grape jelly
Pen: Sakura gelly roll, white
Stickers: MAMBI, Elle's Studio, Paperchase, Tim Holtz Idea-ology

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, I love it when you can find the time to look.

And keep crafting!
