Saturday Scribbles

And a very wet and dreary Saturday too!  I've just watched the weather forecast and in this corner of England it's set to stay the same all weekend. So definitely a good one to stay home and craft.

Today I'm sharing a scrapbook page using my very favourite photo from our trip to Gunby Hall last Sunday - so pleased we took advantage of the lovely weather, what a difference a week makes! The photo looks through an arched gateway down into the walled garden and I love how you can see the different sections marked by the apple arches over the path.  The designer of this garden is a genius!

I used a stencil and inks in the bottom left and top right corners of the background paper to echo the greenery round the brick arch and added a few splashes of mist and some buttons to help the movement diagonally across the page. The strips of green paper behind the photo are to pick up on the brickwork.  This is also my spin on the ombre technique and I started with dark at the bottom getting lighter as it goes up to reflect the shady and sunny greens in the photo.

I'm entering this page for two challenges - The Memory Nest and Have I got Scrap For You.

Supplies:
Mask: Prima Marketing Inc
Ink: Memento, bamboo leaves;  Mister Huey's Color Mists, dark calico, opaque white
Alphas: AC thickers, Hugs;  Bella Boulevard, Sophisticates
Paper: Scraps from my stash
Embellishments: buttons from my stash

Thanks for looking.

Jane
