Monday Moments

I am so delighted to have my card picked to be showcased at Less is More - especially sweet as I love this LOTV image presented so CAS.

showCASed

And amazingly another card made it into a top three, this time at Crazy for CAS.

Top 3 button

So today I've made a card which combines both of their new challenges.
Less is More wants Mostly Words - and I love cards with words taking centre stage - and Crazy for CAS wants a wobble card - it had to be another baby card with that rocking motion!

I decided to go with pink this time - surely someone will be having a girl some time soon!
And this onesie is just so cute stamped onto spotty card with the alphabet added and then fussy cut.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko Studio, Sweet Baby, All Occasion Sentiments #1, Flower Power #3
Inks: SU, melon mambo, daffodil delight, rich razzleberry
Card: pink spotty from my stash

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today and also for all the lovely comments recently - really makes my day.

Sunday Scene

Today the DT at AAA Cards get the day off as it's the MacGyver Challenge. So as I had a little time on my hands I made a card for the Time Out challenge of stamping with the optional twist of apples using the sketch from Unscripted Sketches.

Grab Our Badge!http://unscriptedsketches.com/

And although as a DT member of Unscripted Sketches I've made a PL card for my featured sample - here - I thought it would be fun to showcase just how easily the layouts adapt to cards.

This was such an easy card to make! The two strips are washi tape and the apples are stamped and fussy cut.  I mounted two of the apples onto pads for dimension and stamped the sentiment in matching eye catching red.  I love how the bold colours pop out against all the lovely white space!

Supplies:
Stamps: Clearly Besotted, An Apple A Day
Inks: SU, real red, wild wasabi
Extras: Washi from my stash

Thanks for your time today, hope you enjoyed looking.

Unscripted Sketches Game 4

So here we go with Challenge 4 at Unscripted Sketches. Another amazing layout for you to use for a PL card or anything else that takes your fancy.

http://unscriptedsketches.com/

This is the last of the set of three cards that I made using the same collection of papers and I have to say it's my favourite. Something to do with the ampersands and the clash of colours I think!

And today I'm sharing the whole page with all three of the PL cards from the last three challenges.

Supplies:
Paper: SU, Moonlight Designer series
Stamps: Clearly Besotted, Superstar
Ink: SU, rich razzleberry
Punch: Martha Stewart, heart; Xcut, corner rounder
Embellishments: Simple Stories, burlap stickers; Scrap 365, wooden stars; Webster Storytellers, stickers, corrugated card & buttons from my stash

Thanks for dropping by my blog today, hope you'll play along with us at Unscripted Sketches.

Friday Focus 1

My first share today is a card using the new colours from Color Throwdown.

http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/color-throwdown-311.html

I decided to use the kraft colour as a tag and then stamped these adorable sheep onto it.  Made myself a bit of a problem then though as colours look very different when on a kraft background. A bit of experimenting and I think I got a fairly good match.

I used a mask to create a background for the star which I stamped both on top of the circle and again onto card. I coloured the card star in grey, fussy cut it and mounted it onto pads before adhering offset over the first circle. A good coating of sparkle was then added!

I am so in love with this stamp set - I'm sure it's going to appear a few more times before Christmas!

Supplies:
Stamps: Inky Doodles,Christmas Jumpers
Inks: SU, soft sky; Memento, tuxedo black
Die: Lil'inker, Anytime tags
Pens: Promarkers, cool grey 1, tulip yellow, arctic blue
Embellishments: Stickles, star dust

Scroll on down for my second post today.

Friday Focus 2

My second post today is for another but very different type of celebration - halloween. I've used the colours from ColourQ and the layout from Freshly Made Sketches and definitely had my two grandsons in mind when putting this card together.

http://colourq.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/colourq-challenge-260.html  http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/freshly-made-sketches-155-sketch-by.html

I started by stamping the vertical strips and then overstamped them with some spooky type images. I die cut a tag and stamped the greeting and some slimy goo, then inked around the edges to help it pop from the background card.

Once I'd threaded some twine onto the tag I decided to fix the ends with some more spooky images. And now it's all ready and waiting to go into the post.

Supplies:
Stamps: Clearly Besotted, Diagonal Stripes & Halloween Spirit
Inks: SU, tangerine tango, daffodil delight; Memento, Paris dusk
Dies: Marianne LR0188 ; Xcut, spiro circle
Embellishments: twine from my stash

Thanks for looking today, so kind of you to drop by my blog.

Thursday Thoughts

Today's card is for Less is More - Face the Music & Dance - and uses the baby wipe ink pad technique.

We'd love you to display our banner

I said here that this was a technique I wanted to do loads more of.  Well I've had another bash and I'm so loving the results, going to have to invest in some more colours!

It's so easy too! All you need to do is fold a couple of baby wipes in half, drop on re-inker colours and then use just like an ordinary ink pad - EXTRAORDINARY results guaranteed!

Supplies:
Stmps: Creative Expressions, Urban Beat
Inks: Ranger distress re-inkers, chipped sapphire, picked raspberry, mustard seed

Thanks for spending some time looking at my blog today, hope you enjoyed your visit.

Wednesday Words

So back today with another scrapbook page.  I used the fabulous sketch from Once Upon A Sketch for this precious photo of my oldest grandson having discovered the magical world of books.

http://onceuponasketchblog.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/september-challenge-part-2.html

The sketch is a work of art on its own, someone at Once Upon A Sketch is just so clever!

This page will sit between some project life pages about their Summer visit, but this is such a pivotal milestone it had to have a page all to itself. LOVE that he is able to totally lose track of time by getting involved with a book!

And since handwritten journalling is a requirement of this challenge here's a closer look at mine.

Supplies:
Ppaer: Making Memories, Just Chillin'; Bazzill Basics plain cardstock; scraps from my stash
Stamps: Techique Tuesday, Incredible by Ali Edward
Ink: Ranger distress, chipped sapphire
Dies: Spellbinders, Sprightly Sprockets
Mask: cogs - unknown make
Punch: Xcut corner rounder
Embellishments: candi dots

So pleased you found my blog today, thanks for your time.

And don't forget to check out Unscripted Sketches PL challenge!

Tuesday Talk

Wow! Lots of pink today - such an indulgence for me! So this page was made with the sketch from The Memory Nest - love scrapbooking and love The Memory Nest sketches too!

http://thememorynest.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/make-it-monday-no-25.html
So shield your eyes! A feast of pink coming up!

As you can see I stuck fairly true to this sketch, just adding journalling in place of the star and three groupings of three hearts to help the eye travel across the page.

Supplies:
Papers: Collage Press, Margot collection; scraps from my stash
Journal card: Katie Pertiet, 50 Cards No. 12
Stamps: Uniko Studio, hearts from Flower Power #3
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Punch: Martha Stewart, heart

Go check out the Katie Pertiet 50 Cards - they're FREE! So generous of her to do this to celebrate her birthday of the same number.

Well that's all for today, I'll be back tomorrow with another scrapbook page. Obviously my most favourite thing to create, but never seems to get as many blog hits as cards. :(

And don't forget the new Project Life challenge at Unscripted Sketches.

Thanks for looking! Have a great day!

AAA Cards Game 21 - CREATE

So this week at AAA Cards we're asking you to CREATE with fussy cuts.

 http://www.aaacards.blogspot.co.uk/

It almost seems a mismatch fussy and CAS in the same challenge. But after a bit of experimenting it appears it is possible and this is what I came up with.

I stamped the image five times, once onto a diecut rectangle of card, once onto the base card and then onto three patterned papers.  I then fussy cut the flower heads and arranged them onto the rectangle - I played around a bit to get the papers placed before sticking them down.

A simple sentiment stamped onto a die cut banner and my card was complete. And definitely still CAS!

Supplies:
Stamps: Hero Arts, Delicate Blossoms; Clearly Besotted, Say It In Style
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Papers: Melissa Frances, Kitschy Kitchen
Pens: Promarker, marsh green
Dies: Lil'inker, stitched mats rectangles; Clearly Besotted, Tag Along

So now it's over to you. Looking forward to seeing how you interpret fussy cuts with CAS.

Thanks so much for your visit to my blog today!

Friday Focus

Just grabbing a slot of time to share a card I made for three challenges.  I used the layout from Freshly Made Sketches, the wonderful Autumn colours from The Card Concept and the theme from Time Out's extra challenge to celebrate the birth of DT member Bev's twin boys.

http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/freshly-made-sketches-154-sketch-by.html      http://thecardconcept.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/card-concept-19-color-challenge.html        Grab Our Badge!

So I listened to what Kimberly and Patricia said - in my comments here - and decided it's ok to make Christmas cards this early and turned the fabulous Autumn colours into Christmas colours.  And that got me to thinking about what a very different sort of Christmas Bev is going to have this year and so the double the joy theme was satisfied.

I started by stamping a pattern onto a scrap of card and then hand cut two stockings using a self drawn template. I used the Lil'inker stitched mat die to emboss a panel before stamping the greeting and adding the stockings.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko Studio, Background Builders Christmas, Sweet Baby; Clearly Besotted, Holiday Sentiments
Inks: SU, real red, daffodil delight, wild wasabi
Die: Lil'inker, stitched mats rectangles
Embellishments: washi tape

Thanks for dropping by today.

Thursday Thoughts

It's one layer week at Less is More and their theme is BEVERAGES.  Well that had me searching through my LOTV box as I knew I had these two cuties hiding in there.

I was very bold and added an aura of SU Gorgeous Grunge around the boys and then searched through another box to rediscover my Molly Blooms stitching stamp.  I think in musical terms this is called a 'mash up'. Anyway I'm quite liking the stamping equivalent.

Supplies:
Stamps: LOTV, milk & biscuits; SU, gorgeous grunge; Molly Blooms, stitching
Inks: Memento, tuxedo black; SU, baked brown sugar
Pens: Flexmarkers, linen, blush, dusky pink, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloud blue, cadet blue; Promarkers, leaf green, umber, vanilla, mustard, cool grey 3

Thanks for looking today.

Wednesday Words

Today I'm sharing a card I made for Crazy for CAS, using their incredible vibrant photo inspiration, and Sketch Saturday.

http://micassucas.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/challenge-53-inspirationpicture.html   http://sketchsaturday.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/week-327-with-simon-says-stamp.html

Well those colours are a WOW! I had such fun working with this and am totally in love with the stamping technique I used.  I'd read about using a baby wipe as a stamp pad on several blogs and finally I found some time to give it a go.  And boy am I pleased I did, the results are quite spectacular!  Here's a link to Bev's blog where I first read about this technique.

Here's my card with the sketch rotated a quarter turn:

It's one of those Oh Yay I want to do loads more of this sort of technique! So it just had to be paired up with the wonderful fabulous sentiment from Uniko Studio.

Supplies:
Stamps: SU, Kinda Eclectic; Uniko Studio, All Occasion Sentiments #3
Inks: Ranger distress ink refills, worn lipstick, picked raspberry, mustard seed, chipped sapphire; SU, melon mambo
Punch: Xcut, corner rounder

Thanks for dropping by my blog today.
