A quick little card for a quick little challenge at Inkspirational. Yep the challenge, chosen by DT Sandie, wants quick cards, in fact ones that take less than ten minutes to create once all the materials are collected.
Here it is then:
I didn't actually get out my timer but had a glance at the clock before I started and when I finished and it took about 7 minutes to complete. Definitely my sort of card!
I used the beautiful Uniko Originally Organics stamps and matching dies, added a bit of colour and I was done.
Supplies:
Stamps: uniko, Originally Organic, Simply Said birthday
Inks: SU, old olive, berry burst; Memento, tuxedo black
Die: Uniko, Orignally Organic
Pens: copic, RV66, G99, E000
Thanks for looking today, so pleased to have had your company.

Monday Moment
Today I'm playing along with the Home Sweet Home challenge at Time Out.
It was the stripes and the picture on the wall that immediately caught my eye. The picture reminded me of when I used to do wool binding art at school and that was my jumping off point for my card.
I substituted washi tape for the wool and added it in stripes down a piece of scrap card. I then ran this through a stitched die cut, mounted it on foam and attached it to my card base. A simple die cut greeting was added on top picking up on the dark blue from the inspiration photo.
Supplies:
Dies: Lil'inker, stitched mats rectangles & Hi
Washi from my stash
Huge thanks for dropping by today, it's always far more fun when I get visitors.

Sunday Slot
Another two scrapbook pages from week 3 of Shimelle's Layer on Layer on Layer class to share today.
This page uses split complementary colours and I started with the leftover orange papers from yesterday. Then searched out some blue-green and blue-purple supplies to add to them.
These are such an unusual colour combination and I would never have thought to use them together without this class prompt. But I think they work really well, especially with these particular photos.
Supplies:
Papers: SU; Kaisercraft, Offshore; Shimelle, Box of Crayons; + scraps from my stash
Stickers: Echo park, A walk in the park; AC, vicki boutin; The Happy planner; MAMBI washi; Simple Stories, Whatever; Shimelle, Box of Crayons, shaker sticker, accent 7 phrase booklet
Enamel shapes: Shimelle, Box of Crayons, Funny Sticker world; + from my stash
This next page couldn't be more different in colour! In fact the brief was to stick to white as much as possible. It features my oldest and youngest grandsons - there are two more in the middle. Oh and I have to let you know there will be some pink pages next year as finally a granddaughter is on the way!
As there were sooooo many layers on today's page the journalling has been scattered around the page which i think workd really well too.
Supplies:
Papers: Cocoavanilla, Radiant; ep, Note to Self; + loads of scraps from my stash
Stickers: Simple Stories, Beautiful, Life in Colour; AC, Maggie Holmes, Vicki Boutin; Ali Edwards; Carta Bella, Moments & Memories; MAMBI Chips
Punch: Martha Stewart, butterflies
Pearls, gems and enamel dots from my stash
It's been fabulous to have you visit my blog today, thanks so much for looking.

Apart from the odd bits of black and a nod to the wall colour in the photo I think I did quite well. And it's shown me what a massive load of stash I have too. Every colour the class has asked for this week I've been able to find - no guilty feelings here though as I love scrapbooking and I get to keep everything I've created!

Saturday Spot
The next instalment of my scrapbook journey with Shimelle's Layer on Layer on Layer class is up today.
The focus for week 3 was colour and today's page needed black, white and one other colour.
So I went with the salmon pink colour from my skirt and built up a stack of papers and stickers round the photo of me and my fellow college friends at a reunion in Portsmouth.
I included the things we said as tried to pose for our photo - seems as we get older we get more particular about how we stand. And then this photo happened and it all went pear shaped!
Supplies:
Papers: Bo bunny, Summer Mood
Stickers: Simple Stories, SnapCarpe Diem, #Whatever, Life in color; AC, Remarks; Shimelle, Accent & Phrase; AC Vicki Boutin; Cosmo Cricket, Pretty Stuff, Life Story; October afternoon, Bookworm
Journal Cards: Simple Stories, I Am; Elle's Studio, Quotables
Enamel dots: Simple Stories, Carpe Diem
The challenge for the next page was to use two complementary colours. And my photos made that the simplest choice ever!
This page just flew together and I decided to use two focal areas for layering embellishment stacks linked by a splatter of white ink.
I found lots of blue and orange elements in my stash and layered like a pro!
I'm trying to remember to always add the date to my pages. Although they are all stored in date order in yearly albums it's surprising how quickly you forget the actual date that the photos were taken. And yes the date is always on the photos on my computer, but that's means looking a bit harder!
Supplies:
Papers: Lilybeedesign, apricot tree; AC, Daydreams; + loads of scraps
Stickers: Shimelle, Box of Crayons; October Afternoon, Bookworm; Simple Stories, Whatever; MAMBI chips, Happy Planner; Lilybeedesigns, Chit chat, Pinwheel labels; jillybean Soup, saffron Yellow Pepper soup; Basic Grey, Carte Postale
Die: CUTplorations, gorgeous
Ink: Mister Huey's Color Mists, opaque white
Thanks so much for your time today, i really appreciate you stopping by my blog.

Friday Focus
I'm playing along with Calling All Sistahs today. And I decided to use the colour chips from their inspiration graphic to inspire my card.
Here's my encouragement card:
A simple stamped card using a Precious Remembrance Shop set. Once stamped I matted the card onto a base to add a lift to the edges.
Supplies:
Stamps: PRS, Little Things
Inks: SU, blueberry bushel, real red, smoky slate
Great to have you drop by today, thanks so much.

Thursday Thoughts
Another two scrapbook pages to share today. and both are from the second week of Shimelle's Layer on Layer on Layer class.
The first uses a doily to stack the layers on and the second uses envelopes.
Now this was a huge challenge for me as I'm not really a lover of doilies on layouts, but I scrabbled through my stash and found a pretty heart doily and gritted my teeth and layered it up!
As you can see half of the doily is hidden under the photo and I've placed some of the title on top. that's a supermarket orange wire bag peeping out behind the doily.
Supplies:
Papers: AC Shimelle, Box of Crayons; October Afternoon, Hide & Seek
Alphas: AC tjickers, Subway
Stickers: AC Vicki Boutin; MAMBI, puffy stickers, Chips, The Happy Planner
Enamel dots: Simple Stories, Carpe Diem
My next page is much more to my taste and I loved the idea of using envelopes to store hidden journalling and little treasures from my youngest son's wedding day.
He gave an absolutely heartfelt speech, had us all tearing up and I've included some of the lovely romantic things he said on the tags in the small pocket.
The journalling in the larger pocket all starts with Today to echo the title and records my favourite memories.
supplies:
Papers: Echo Park, just Married
Envelopes: Vellum and Glassine, handmade from papers in my stash
Stickers: AC Maggie Holmes
So pleased you had time to drop by today, it's always fun to have visitors to my blog.

Wednesday Words
Two scrapbook pages to share today - I'm crafting up a storm with Shimelle's Layer on Layer on Layer class!
These pages are both from week 2 and the focus was on using different types of embellishments to create layers.
The challenge for this page was to use die cut ephemera and build the layers behind the photo and then adhere the whole stack to backing paper.
I splodged and sprinkled white and yellow colour mist over the background paper and then while it was drying - took forever - created my photo stack.
A bit of scattered journalling to finish off.
Supplies:
Papers: Simple Stories, Sunshine & Happiness
Die cuts: Simple Stories, Sunshine & Happiness, Bloom & Grow; AC Shimelle, Box of Crayons
Ink: Mister Huey's color mists, opaque white & sunshine
The challenge for this next was was to use stamps to give the illusion of layers. right up my street then and I amassed an enormous collection on my craft table once I'd decided on suitable photos - the hardest bit of this page!
I started by creating a bit of background interest using a stencil randomly placed over the plain grid paper. i chose colours using the photos as a guide.
I thought I had millions of butterfly stamps but I was wrong only a handful after all! The title is a combination of alpha stickers and stamping.
Supplies:
Papers: Simple Stories Snap Basics; Essentials Paperz, junkitz; Echo Park, Country Drive
Stencil: Heffy Doodle, Unbe-leaf-able
Inks: SU, lemon lime twist, peekaboo peach, smoky slate; Memento, tuxedo black
Stamps: SU, Papillon Pouri; Technique Tuesday, Ali Edwards amazing, Perspectives, Beautiful, Incredible; Kaisercraft, Edges, Botanical, Texture Triangles; Uniko, English Country Gareden Butterflies; Clearly besotted, A Better you; My mind's Eye, The Sweetest thing; PRS, Little Things, New Day; Maya Road, Spool Sentiments
Alphas: Lilybee Designe, Pinwheel; Simple Stories, Bloom & Grow, Summer Vibes
Wow! What a lot of stamps! But then I do have he most enormous stash as stamping is what I do all the time.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, I hope you've enjoyed my pages.

Tuesday Talk
Today's card is a birthday card for the challenge at Inkspirational and is something a bit different for me.
Here's my card:
Because I have a fear of using watercolours apart from smooshy sort of backgrounds I signed up for the new Online Card Classes Simply Watercolour workshop. And that's how my squared background for this card came about. I simply die cut the finished pattern and added some black stamping and a die cut on top.
I bought the cheapest set of watercolour block paints I could find - wasn't sure if I'd take to it so didn't want to splash out! And yes I quite enjoyed creating this card, but we'll see where I go next.
Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko, All Occasion Sentiments #2; Clearly Besotted, In Stitches Easter
Ink: Versafine, onyx black
Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, it's always lovely to have some company.

A simple and very CAS one layer card to share today. It uses the colours from an old CAS Colours & Sketches challenge.
The coral and the purple combined with a green had me reaching for flower stamps.
I stamped the flower in old olive and then matched the other colours as close as I could with Copic pens.
I went for a plain font block capital sentiment to match the simplicity of this card.
Supplies:
Stamps: Rubber Dance, Textured Flowers; Uniko, Simply Said Birthday
Inks: SU, old olive; Memento, tuxedo black
Pens: Copic, R22, RV69, G94
Huge thanks for dropping by my blog today, I love having visitors!

AAA Cards Challenge #120 - Over The Rainbow
AAA Cards has the most beautiful theme for their new challenge starting today - Somewhere Over The Rainbow.
Not that there's been much opportunity for rainbows here recently, but even more reason to get them onto a card!
I've used STAMPloration goodies on my card as they're our sponsor for this challenge. I started by making a rainbow of colours using copic pens on a piece of scrap card. Then I die cut the gorgeous - rainbows are gorgeous after all - and popped it over the so that all the colours peeped through the aperture.
I then stamped the 'simply' and a hand cut sketchy butterfly - they're gorgeous too - and i was done.
Supplies:
Stamps: STAMPlorations, Winged Things, BOLD SENTIMENTS Gorgeous
Ink: Memento, tuxedo black
Dies: CUTplorations, Gorgeous; Lil'inker, stitched mats rectangles
Pens: Copic: R29, YR04, Y13, YG13, B28, BV13, V15, C1, C3
Shery from STAMPlorations has joined in with this challenge and we have a wonderful Guest Designer - Karen - who's card will definitely inspire you also playing along. And of course all the talented AAA Cards DT have also made some gorgeous rainbow themed cards to whet your appetite. I know you're going to love this theme!
